The kosa bill or kids online safety act could keep lgbtq+ content creators like me form creating content. Please sign to keep this bill from going into place and contact your lawmakers.

I don’t like thinking worst case scenario, but just in case, I will say that tumblr changed my life forever. I’ve met so many amazing people, learned so many new things about myself and the world around me, I can honestly say I’m a happier person for being here. This place is home to me. Sure, the site might be updating for the worse recently, but it's still by far the most kind and supporting site out there imo for queer kids and minorities. thank you so much tumblr, let's hope this bill doesn't pass <333
The end of online privacy
Now, this isn't something I usually post about from my silly goofy k1nk account (reminder to minors to not follow or scroll this acount).
But I have more followers on here than main, and this is extremely important. Like, scary shit.
This applies to everyone. If you're reading this? It's going to effect you.
I'm sure perhaps some of you have seen around about a this thing going around... KOSA, is one of the ways it's being referred to.
If this shit passes, lemme tell you...
LGBTQ+ adults and minors seeking help and community,
people looking for abortions,
people organizing protests,
anyone using their free speech to voice concerns about injustices,
even FAN ARTISTS...
Even people reading fan fiction...
And for the purposes of where I'm posting from... people sharing and enjoying their k1nks, wanting to post things with safety and privacy... smut artists and writers, people even LOOKING for smut...
It's all gone. No privacy.
They'll have your face, your name, your age, where you live.
You'll need an ID to use any US-based platform, even if you're NOT in the United States.
Instead of dooming, here's what you can do to stop this shit in it's tracks 👍
Here is a website where you can sign a letter just by filling out a form, (it takes less than 30 seconds) and where you can call reps.
I HIGHLY suggest leaving calls if you're able, and if you have phone shyness, do this after 6pm, since it will leave messages instead.
I'm shy, but I did it!
Here's another letter to sign, takes less than 20 seconds.
Here is a form you can fill out sharing how the social media has POSITIVELY effected you.
Share all of this with as many people as you can. Our safety, freedom, joy, and protection online is at risk more than ever.

Again, this is false!! There are no hearings for KOSA on March 13th—or even in March!
Proof:
These are all of the hearings scheduled for March; the one on the 13th is for Veterans. You can even look at hearing schedule on the Congress website (pictured in first image) & periodically check for yourself—just tap on the hearing to read what it’s about.
I understand people are scared, but please make sure you’ve got your facts straight before posting; otherwise you’ll make people panic for nothing.
Please spread this around, there’s still no set date for a vote—WE STILL HAVE TIME!!!

Lawmakers have reintroduced the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), a dangerous censorship bill that would give the government unprecedented control over the internet. KOSA won’t make kids more safe. Instead, it’ll put youth in danger by preventing them from accessing resources they need. Lawmakers concerned about online safety should reject KOSA and instead work to protect all internet users from abusive tech companies by passing a Federal data privacy law. pleas, fill out the form, and send it in. we cannot let KOSA pass.

Stop KOSA. KOSA just got passed through the House and More organizations even Twitter and Snapchat. Social media companies it aims to delete are coming out in support of it. This content creator has been covering KOSA for a long time. If you remember when AO3 was down how everyone freaked out. KOSA could take AO3 off the Internet. Could remove queer content online. The ACLU opposes it. It's unconstitutional call your Senators. Call your Representatives. Call everyone you can in power and tell them to oppose this bill. Sign petitions follow the link in that creators bio. Go to bad Internet Bills dot com and get call script or fax script for it. Contact the ACLU about suing states that support KOSA. We can still fight. End KOSA protect online safety!
