âShe was wronged.

They only tried to love her and honor her here.

She will be vilified once her name is learned, but it was her sisters who broke her up and threw her down.

Gods above, it makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

How long she must have lain there under the sand. Hurting and lonely and angry and not knowing what she did wrong.

I donât Know how to pray to her, I would if I could.

You deserved better. This was not your fault.â

Warnings and pleas which a kinder heart, or a less rapacious mind, may have considered.

(because we deserve this)
(because you deserve this)
(because i deserve this)
(because i had to)
(because i wanted to)
(because i could)
(i don't know)
Hornets - Kitty Horrorshow
My blood feels dull and heavy

There should be more here

Had all these plans for this place

I used to burn once upon a time

My veins miss the old poison

Strength enough only to drag my feet

Rattling chains, only my own Houses to Haunt

Held by the lungs and pulled

Bleeding time from a wound that wonât close

Hellish what I have to do

A charming tale about family, homemaking, and creation. Experience the matriarchâs realm for yourself here, alongside other cursed grounds.

I know they say to be the change you want to see in the world but I sure got some work to do and then some if thatâs the case

Tenement - Kitty Horrorshow, Haunted Cities Vol. 4
one of my favourite games of all time. be sure to check the readme that comes with the files, you'll need it

haunted cities v4 was crazy
Ęá´á´ á´É´á´á´ĄâŚ. Ęá´á´ ɢɪĘĘ ęąĘÉŞá´

My favorite Kitty Horrorshow games but described boringly
- You walk around an old house listening to a recorded lecture about architecture.
- You play as a girl helping her elderly grandmother with the gardening chores.
- You take a stroll around a city block listening to small talk from your neighbors.
- you explore a few empty, greyscale buildings and read some archeologist notes until you come back to the start with nothing.
- A lonely woman just lost her family and needs a friend. You wander aimlessly through the woods with no objective until she invites you to come inside.
- You run a corrupted zip file with an unhelpful gibberish name and the game closes itself after a couple minutes of glitchy, indiscernible visuals

"The boy came to a clearing, where a great bloated tick wallowed in a shallow pond, and he found that he could not speak, for She had filled his mouth with leeches as he was running through the swamp..."
You open to a random page:
"You will know you have come to the kingdom of the Hierophant, for the roaches will have the teeth of men, and the wasps will have not stingers but tongues, and the worms will twist themselves into knots until they are torn and bleeding..."
You open to a random page:
"Her mother, whose head was full of the Tattered King's perverted songs, shut the girl in the attic, where blood dripped from between the teeth of the mad-eyed rocking horse and the spiders laughed like murderers..."
You open to a random page:
"The Priestess sank into the mud, which whispered to her as it filled her ears, and she felt His oils and secrets slide across the wrinkled flesh of her brain, and she shivered, and the knife burrowed under her ribs..."
You open to a random page:
"And She waited there, beneath the soil and the loam, fed with meals of consecrated blood, and the teeth and sinew and seed grew within her belly as she moaned and prepared to birth a coven of new daughters..."
"you good?"
no man, kitty horrorshow games make me cry
That one npc in the sewers of the Tenement was really spitting when they said
âThat room was mine. They had no right. I paid my rent for a hundred years, who the hell are they to force me out? My skin is in those walls. The carpet knows how I taste. So much of my flesh and blood and puke and mucous has gone down those drains, just clogging up the pipes. I'm caught in the room's throat. I'm a part of it. Sometimes I would push myself against the wall and my skin would start to melt and the wallpaper would knit its way around me.
Such comfort, such sublime assurance. I'm an electrician, god dammit. I sew nerve endings to I-beams and open eyes and make towers scream. They can't do this to me. I'll go to the housing authority, that's what I'll do. I'll show them all the scars, those teethmarks up and down my arms, and I'll tell them to go to my apartment and check its breath and they'll smell my sweat on it and they'll know that it's mine.
You can't just evict someone from a place like that and give it to someone else, it'll chew them up, and anyway it's MINE. I've worked hard all my life. I don't ask for anything except a home that keeps me in its mouth. Who the hell do you think you are?â
I played Tenement for the experience that Jacob Geller sold me on but I tell you I came back, time and time again, for that specific area. Itâs a whole vibe of its own and it has stuck with me for over a couple years now.

Would you visit be honest
Grandmotherâs Garden level loading/area transition screens hit in that some different kinda way I tell you, especially on replays, for their foreshadowing-

Bloodbells gather on their steel arms
scaled feet tacky with old blood
presaging some violence, calamity
taking their seats to wait for
the show to start

if you put your hands to the ground
and go real still, you can feel them
thumping down beneath the dirt
angry
suffocating forever, being drained

It feels like a coat made of leather leaves
it throbs and whispers
vital but not warm
you can feel fluid moving around inside of it

Somewhere there are places where
grass catches water from the sky
and if you run outside with no shoes or socks the ground is gentle and sweet
and nothing is buried there that canât be talked about

She likes the song of crickets
And the swirling of the flies
And the way the scarlet locusts
Seem to hunger for her eyes

Thereâs blood beneath her fingernails
And bile on her boots
And a stirring in her stomach
From the singing of the roots

She shares her bed with insects
She sleeps away the light
Pretty soon her skin will blossom
So her veins can drink the night

Stay inside honey
watch your cartoons
you don't need to see what i'm doing out here
Oh,
to sink down in the tower and weep
as the fury of Her pain rips through my flesh
and the weight of her despair takes me under
and leaves behind my bones
like her false stones, forgotten on the shore.
Would She hear my prayer, or does She sleep
Far beneath the sand and seaward thresh?
Did her sisters tear her forever
asunder
could she be made less alone
if I followed her to be forgotten, another memory deplored?
Oh,
To dunk my head into that reddened stream
and float in the tunnels beyond the bounds
where the lost ones linger, and mutter, and
wallow in their past
and speaking without hearing,
forever stuck in another time.
Would I wallow too, stuck between the world and a dream;
Only by the next new trespasser to be found?
Would I join them to murmur and muse and idle while I rasp
Drinking it, always fearing
made too a prisoner of my mind?
Oh,
To be the offering laid at your feet, willingly or not
Or perhaps the reluctant acolyte breaking the earth.
Should I have been the keeper lapping from your well?
Or would you rather me as the blood within,
carried from the husk between your roots?
As either Iâd learn the song of the trees, of bugs and rot.
I would be faithful to the soil, wrought to fill its dearth.
As either Iâd know the sights of graves and bloodbells.
Imagine what beauty thatâd flourish from the flavor of my sin,
If I joined the whispers beneath my boots.
Oh,
To follow the path that you carved for me,
the one that rounds the hill and leads to your home.
To bow at your throne of tendons and jaws,
and flayed by my welcoming hostâs hands;
Iâll be stripped of skin, unwound, unraveled.
Certainly at once in hers I would truly be
as snug as the grub laid to fester in waspâs comb,
Twsited and formed anew, witnessing with awe
as my fodder inspires someone elseâs plans.
What a family Iâll find, down a road untraveled.
Oh,
To pursue you down to your starving center,
to feel the teeth clamp down and crush,
to be your hapless dweller betrayed
and feel the acidâs unforgiving burn.
Just how would your vengeance taste?
âSo, so sorryâ I may cry, too late to realize what Iâve done wrong.
What if I could be foolish enough to enter
and vivisect you from foundation to truss
and become your cruel traitor repaid,
given the punishment I must deserve?
A vagrant morsel, a hungry house: both wastes.
âFinally again,â we may sigh,
âevermore to someone I belongâ

The modern dance in this video actually reminds me a lot of an episode of LXD called Duet, one of my favorite pieces of cinematography and choreography ever.Â
Now, time to watch the cover by Sam Tsui and Kina Grannis!
