I just finished Gamera Rebirth and am currently going through a brain rot and oh my goodness I can actually draw my baby boy!
New video I made for YouTube and TikTok. As much as this series keeps me up at night. I can't help but think of the hilarity of a living Godzilla suit acting casual about it. Like, imagine TMITS genuinely doesn't realize he's scary af.
I rewatched the 2005 King Kong because I remembered loving it as a kid. I cried twice and made a playlist based off the film so I could cry while listening to it. Anyway, here's some doodles.
I've been fighting art block for a while, and this was my first actually good work.
I did another mothra doodle, but I somehow forgot to draw the bottom wing. I ended up cutting some of the lineart off with a razor and added shading for a grungy look.
Sooo I have been playing with the concept of an au where Fire Rodan survived in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2. The first designs are the brothers during Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. The second are them in Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla. Then there's Mothra cause she's fun to draw.
In this story, Jr was able to hear from inside his egg and remembers being called "precious stone" by Rodan, who guarded him since he hatched first. Rodan was named Young Warrior by Godzilla, who was impressed by the little one's fighting spirit and was grateful for being saved.
I might turn the whole, Rodan lives idea into a comic. Might be a hefty one too because I added a lot of other ideas I've been wanting to see play out.
Anyway, here's some concept designs for the brothers. I tried to make them look young but not the same age. I decided to shorten the age gap between Jr and Rodan from a whole year to a few months. I made Rodan big enough to realistically carry a cargo container, but small enough to obviously be a baby.
I based Jr's development on house kittens. So he was born blind and deaf and started to get his extra senses by 3 weeks of age.
Brothers of Ash: Birth of Rodan
The Rodan lives au now has a name, Brothers of Ash. The story will mainly focus on Rodan and Jr, but plenty of other characters will get their time to shine.

Completely unrelated, but I watched Deadpool and Wolverine, mostly because it looked like fun but also in the hopes of getting inspiration for Bros of Ash. And instead I got the urge to draw my ocs because the 'says shut up a lot' and 'never shuts up' dynamic is literally them!

Three Songs, also known as King Ghidorah, Monster Zero, Subject 0, Armless, and The Fallen Sun (damn, he's got a lot of names), was one of the Xillians "projects". He is a modified dorat, which is an alien species that the Xillians have collected and bred into domestication.
Backstory aside. Each head has their own mind and personality.
Logos, the middle head with red eyes, is the brains of the operation. He is critical and strategic, always devising a course of action. He's the most responsible, seeing the other two heads as his responsibility and considers them when thinking things through. Logos is the most calm and quiet of the heads. When he does speak, it's usually in response to something. He rarely speaks unprompted.
Pathos, the right head with green eyes, is the most aggressive. He's very raw and passionate, reacting strongly to almost everything. He's impatient, rude, selfish, and rash. He's the most honest of the group, although he hides his true emotions with anger as a defense mechanism. He clashes with the other heads a lot, often disagreeing with Logos and finding Eidos annoying. Out of all the heads, he likes fighting the most, anything to let off steam.
Eidos, the left head with blue eyes, is a carefree jokester. He's very curious and loves exploring and learning. He's the most observant, often noticing things that the other heads didn't. Unfortunately, his inquisitive nature makes his attention span fleeting. He likes teasing and joking with pretty much everyone (including enemies that are about to rip his throat out to make him shut up). He's also the most talkative, either commenting on something, asking questions, or pushing someone's buttons.
