Not to be excommunicated by Les Mis stans but is fandom not a sandbox anyone can play in? Like I get being annoyed by character assassination but like most of the people writing are kids. Not only kids though! It doesn’t matter, they shouldn’t have to worry about getting ‘e-mobbed’ just because they’re doing their own thing. What happened to ‘don’t like don’t read’? It’s just a story.
If you want canonical Enjolras, there’s 14,368 works on ao3 you can filter though. You’re just clogging up the Les Mis tag yourself with complaints over something I’m yet to actually see, and if I did I’d decide it wasn’t for me and move on! Who cares if one kid on the internet hasn’t understood the political nuance of a 19th century novel??? Who cares if someone just wants to lust after an actor they like in a specific role in peace??? Please just let people do their own thing and if you don’t like it, there’s no need to dog pile on them for doing so, just scroll away.
like not to sound pretentious or gatekeepy but it really does infuriate me when enjolras gets boiled down to hrngh sexy revolution man (yes i am talking ab the joe quinn stans) bc this exact same thing happened in 2012 with aaron tveit and the second that happens u lose all sense of his character and complexity and then boom hes just another boring man for yall to write fics about.
even if we’re excluding the fact that enjolras most definitely is NOT straight (literally canon the book says hes not interested in women hes either aro/ace or gay personally i think hes gay but to each their own yknow) his one true love is france, not you, not ur self insert, its france and the second you change that you arent writing about enjolras. and i know it might not be that deep but the character assassination of enjolras always rises again every few years and bbc les mis is the worst culprit they absolutely destroyed him to appeal to a hetero audience and it just MAKES ME SO FUCKING MAD
Game idea for friends:
There are two different ways you can play this, but both are the same principal ......don't react. The second option required players to have tik tok collections of edits of their chosen people.
(Btw this game is for simps)
Option 1:
- each player creates a list of people they find attractive / have an obsession with / simp for
-players swap lists
-taking turns ,one player will search someone from the other players list up on pintrest and find a good photo of them
-the player then has to look at the picture for 10 seconds without smiling or reacting at the picture in any way, if they do they don't get the point
Option 2:
- each player trades phones and goes into seperate areas(or just where they can't hear each others phone)
- from premade tik tok collections ,each player picks an edit of the person to show the other player
- the player has to watch the entire edit (no edits longer than 20 seconds preferably) again without reacting or smiling
Myself and @badalee1995 played both versions of this game and before each edit/picture we would always stall for about 4 or 5 minutes trying to calm ourselves 😂
I highly suggest playing this, it's really fun, and the best part is ,even if you lose, you still get to look at hot videos/pictures of hot people
