stirring against jeno's warm chest, your eyes fluttered open and focused on the dark screen opposite you. you were covered in a blanket, jeno's arms tightly wrapped around you.

lifting your head, you saw that jeno was asleep, his head drooping in a position that you knew he was going to get cramp from. lifting a hand, you brushed your fingers over his left cheek, his eyelids fluttering from your touch.

his eyes slowly opened, a lazy smile creeping onto his face as he made eye contact with you. moving his head, he frowned in discomfort as he stretched out the cramp in his neck.

he murmurs, not wanting to disturb the quiet atmosphere,

"shall we go upstairs?"

jeno was asleep and you knew this. however it did not excuse the fact that he was hogging all the blankets. you were cold and not happy, pouting you turned to face him. “jeno, give me some of the blankets,” you mumble lightly tugging on the sheets, trying and failing to get some. “jeno!” you whine a little louder. jeno shifted a bit, groaning in sleepy annoyance. “five more minutes babe..” jeno says lightly before turning back over, taking more of the blanket with him. you whine again, scooting next to his body trying to steal some of his body heat. your head on his back, curling up into a ball, head butting his back in a little rebellion.

you only stayed like that for a few minutes before the cold came creeping back to you. looking at your still sleeping boyfriend, you try to grab some of the covers. of the sleeping baby doesn’t budge, at all, “why are you so strong even when sleeping?” you groan trying harder to get some blanket for yourself. “jeno, im cold, give me blanket.” you just wanna be warm and he’s asleep with legitimately all the blanket. you continue to try, and fail miserably, to get some of the blanket from him. it sort of work when jeno stirred a bit in his sleep, his grip releasing enough for you to get some blanket. sighing happily in content with what you have now, you start to go back to sleep.

you’re almost asleep when history repeats itself and jeno grabs the blanket again, drowning you in cold air. “lee jeno, i will beat you up in the morning i swear to fucking god.” you yell whisper, curling back into a ball and falling asleep cold, pissed, and ready to get revenge. little did you know that your boyfriend was lightly giggling, holding the blanket close to him all warm and cozy. “you do that babe.”

[12:01 am]

“what if you were an alien?” you murmur into boyfriend!jeno’s chest. the two of you are lying in bed together after a horror movie marathon, his dark grey blanket pulled over the both of you. you’re wearing his large green t-shirt that falls to your mid-thigh and shorts, and snuggle up to him because you feel cold and a bit scared. he notices and lifts his arm to wrap it around your waist comfortably.

you look up into his face - his eyes are closed and he looks peaceful; maybe he’s about to fall asleep by this point. “that might explain why you’re so handsome,” you murmur quietly.

the corners of jeno’s lips lift up lovingly. he finds your midnight thoughts endearing, and the arm around your waist shifts so that his hand runs through your hair. “go to sleep, sweetie.”

you relax, sighing contentedly into his chest. “... i really think you might be an alien sometimes.”

jeno chuckles lazily. “why?” he says, his eyes opening slightly as his hands repeatedly caress your hair.

“i don’t know,” you murmur, your eyes drooping closed with sleepiness. “maybe because you’re so perfect.” you let out a small, quiet yawn. “i love you,” you mumble, your hands on his chest relaxing as you fall asleep.

jeno can feel you relax as you sleep, and closes his eyes as your soft breaths seem to whisper in the dark room. “i love you more,” he mumbles back, and kisses your head as he falls asleep.

you laugh uncontrollably as boyfriend!jeno tickles you, thrashing on the sofa.

you’d promised you would give jeno a kiss if he made you ramen as a midnight snack, and jeno had quickly scampered off twenty minutes ago to do just that. when he came back with the ramen, though, closing his eyes and pouting his lips in playful anticipation of your kiss, you giggled and pressed the back of your hand to his lips instead. jeno whined childishly, leaning into you with his beautiful smile and slight aegyo as he waited for a peck again. you’d refused, though, giggling - and jeno’s eyes flashed mischeviously as he tackled you to the sofa, tickling you mercilessly from above.

“jeno!” you gasp in between laughter, “stop!”

jeno grins, his pretty eyes curving into evil crescent moons. “not unless you keep your promise,” he says, and the hands that are ruthlessly attacking your ribs momentarily pause as he puckers his lips.

you grin playfully and lean forward to kiss his forehead instead. “you wis-“ you break out into laughter before you can even finish your sentence, jeno’s fingers attacking your ribs once more. “okay! okay!” you yell in surrender. jeno relaxes his hands and closes his eyes with a smile. you lean in to kiss him, then quickly launch yourself off the sofa, trying to escape through the gap his torso creates above you.

you think you’ll make it until jeno’s firm hands grasp your waist, and you squeak in surprise as he pulls you into his lap, facing him.

“you thought you could escape?” jeno teases, the hands on your waist starting to resume his tickling.

you blush, and playfully bop his nose, “yeah,” before pecking his lips.

jeno is momentarily stunned, not having expected you to kiss him so suddenly.

you laugh and press another kiss to his cheek. “let’s eat, the ramen is going to get soggy.”

“jeno you’ve been cleaning your apartment all dayyyy” you tugged on your boyfriend’s arm as he stood facing the kitchen sink. “can we please watch a movie now?” you pout, putting your hands on his shoulder, leaning against him.

“it’s not my fault you used a separate dish for every bowl of ramen you had today!!!!”

you had nothing to say, so you responded with moving your eyes side to side.

jeno turned to you to tap your nose with his pink gloves, getting a dot of soap on the tip of it. “ewwww jeno that’s gross!!” you whined, wiping the soap off your nose and onto jeno’s sleeve. he giggled at the sight.

“i’m almost done. just wait for me on the couch.” jeno reassured you.

“no,” you wrapped your arms around jeno’s waist, giving him a back hug. “i’ll stay here.”

jeno smirked to himself. he continued his task as you watched from around his shoulder, still holding onto him.

“y/n i cant do the dishes with you hugging me.” jeno laughed.

“well it’s not so easy for me to hug you while you’re doing the dishes!!!” you shouted back. “so hurry up.”

a few more minutes pass, and even with limited mobility, jeno finally finishes the last dish.

jeno turns off the faucet and dries his hands, turning around to look at you. “so what do you wanna watch?.” he asks, smiling at you.

“oh so now you wanna watch a movie…” you question him, crossing your arms.

“well i assume you wouldn’t wanna eat off of a dirty dish…”

“you’re a dirty dish…” you scoffed, pulling his head down for you to reach, kissing his cheek.

“well you just kissed the dirty dish.” he teased you.

you cupped his cheeks with your hands and brought his face up close to yours, looking into his eye smile.

“and i suggest you stop before i slap the dirty dish.”

“dang it i thought i’d beat you!”

“jeno! are you okay??” you stand up when you see your best friend walk through the cafe door.

“yeah i’m good, you?” he eye smiled.

“i thought you said it was an emergency.”

“ohh.. yeah… that’s, that’s been resolved..” jeno rubs the nape of his neck.

“oh. okay then… what brings you here then?”

“uhhh no reason. im gonna go get coffee.”

jeno was acting weird but you just rub it off.

“here.” jeno says, holding out a coffee for you, as well as one for him in his other hand.

“thanks… but i already have some.” you looked down at the cup on the table.

“oh.” jeno swallows and sits down in the chair across from you.

you laugh, “jeno why are you being so awkward?”

“me? no im not being awkward, what do you mean, you’re the one being awkward.”

“uh-huh…” you slowly nod your head, agreeing suspiciously. “what did you do this time”

“i didn’t do anything!!”

“well then what was that emergency or whatever…” you sipped your drink. “don’t even bother hiding anything from me, i can see right through you, lee jeno.” you smiled at him.

“fine. actually i came to talk to you.” jeno looked down at his fidgeting hands.

“about what?” you rested your arms on the table, tapping a rhythm with your fingers.

“umm yn..”

“yn, i know we’ve known each other forever and we’re practically like siblings…”

your heart sunk. has he only ever saw you as a sibling and nothing more?

“but it’s just that..” jeno continued. “i like you. like not as a sibling, like.. well you know what i mean. there. i said it. please don’t hate me.”

but you made no reaction. you actually didn’t hear anything jeno just said because you were still stuck on the fact that he said you guys were like siblings.

jeno face palms himself. “i knew i shouldn’t have said anything..” he mumbled into his hands.

“is that really what you think?” you ask in a small voice.

“yes..” jeno says quietly to match your tone.

there was a misunderstanding. the question you asked jeno was regarding whether or not he saw you as a sibling, however jeno answered unknowing that you were referring to something else.

“well okay then.” you swallow. “it’s getting dark outside, i should go.” you said getting up from your seat.

“wait yn… do you… have a response?”

“why do you expect me to say anything?” you scoff and run out the door.

jeno stood there in confusion for a brief moment before following behind you. he caught up with you and stood in front of you with his hands on your shoulders to stop you from running.

“yn what’s wrong?”

you look up to face him.

“what do you mean what’s wrong?? my crush of so many years just told me he just sees our relationship as siblings!” tears were rolling down your cheeks.

jeno stared at you blankly, but couldn’t keep his smile in.

“yn, what did you think i said in there?” he laughed and dropped his head onto your shoulder, where his hands still rested.

now you were confused. “well,” you sniffed “well you said that we’re practically siblings.”

“is that all you heard??” he raises his eyebrows.

“i guess..”

“there was a but”

“there was?”

jeno nods his head.

“so…but what?”

“i like you. yn, i confessed to you. i like you a lot. not..as a sibling.”

“ohh.” you were still trying to look sad but you couldn’t hold your laugh in. soon the two of you were in hysterics.

“i cant believe you lied about having an emergency just to tell me you liked me.” you shoved jeno playfully.

“no i really did have an emergency.”

“oh.” you felt humbled.

“i mean i was in an emergency to see you...”

you cover your face to hide your embarrassment.

jeno puts his arm around your neck and rubs his knuckles on your head, as the two of you start walking side by side.

“i’ll walk you home.” he then quickly kissed your cheek.

caught off guard, you turn your head to look at the boy next to you, met with his face close to yours.

you shared a brief intimate moment with each other, until you broke the silence.

“i’ll race you there!”

“go to sleep!!” you shake your boyfriend!jeno’s shoulder as you sit beside him on the bed.

“one more page!” he begged, focus staying shifted on the book.

“you said one more page like twelve chapters ago”

“okay, well then twelve more chapters!” jeno corrects himself.

“jeno it is 3 in the morning.”

jeno looks up from the pages to face you.

“you can go to sleep, im not stopping you.”

“jenooooo you know i can’t sleep without youuuu” you whine, tugging on his arm.

“y/nnnnnnnn i’ll literally be right here it’s not like i’m going anywhereeeee” he whines back to mock you.

“if you were reading this book you would know how good it is.”

“maybe, but im not.”

jeno’s eyes lit up

“well then i’ll just read you the book!”

“im not giving in jeno, you need to go to sleep.”

jeno is clearly uninterested in what you had to say. he wraps his arms around you to pull you in to lie closely beside him, your head resting in the crook of his neck.

“let me read you a bedtime story.”

“jeno im not five”

“shhhhhh” he puts his finger to your mouth to hush you. “dont make me sing you a lullaby.”

jeno began reading aloud from where he left off in his book, only sounding like nonsense to you, as he provided no context. obviously the book wasn’t interesting to you at all, but you loved this moment. you loved hearing jeno’s voice, you loved the warmth of being so impossibly close to him, you just loved him.

jeno stops reading for a moment.

“y/n?”

“mm?”

“are you sleepy yet” he giggled.

“no. im not giving in.” you said almost inaudibly into jeno’s t shirt, nuzzling your head more into his shoulder to get more comfortable.

admiring you, jeno placed a kiss on the top of your head.

and unable to fight against your heavy eyelids, you give in.

it’s nearly noon when neighbor!jeno (who’s on your bed) complains about how long you take to do your makeup. “Come on, I’m hungry,” he pouts. you chuckle and shake your head, “just give me a few more minutes—i’m almost done.” jeno groans in response as he gets up and walks closer to you. you watch him closely, suspicious of what he’s about to do.

jeno surprises you when he wraps his arms around your waist, shoving you a little more towards the edge of your little bench so he can sit. “come on,” he mumbles, face buried in the small space between your neck and shoulder.

you comply, a little shaken from the close contact, “okay, let’s go you big baby.”
