He reaches towards it, but the helmet reflects a pair of yellow eyes, causing him to flinch. Vanitas, now with his true face, looks down at the helmet with wide eyes, his face cast in shadow and dripping heavily with sweat. Static surrounds him with a hissing sound, and gazing at him from either side are apparitions wearing Ventus’s face and Vanitas’s bodysuit. End image description.]

kingdom hearts vanitas kh jellyshade kh spiderchest kh drawings sometimes i think abt how the only time we see vanitas willingly take off his helmet is when talking alone w xehanort and he immediately puts it back on before going to taunt ven and never removes it again (until he's dying and the novel has him go 'never thought i'd end up showing you my face' there so it was unintentional) like what are the implications here... that he prefers not to wear it (otherwise why bother taking it off for a brief xehanort chat) but he Really doesn't want anyone else to see his face/know what he looks like?? the dysphoric undertone of it all... i know the actual reason is bc nomura wanted a dramatic face reveal moment lol but still... i think abt it.... scopophobia unreality
