Story Time!
tl;dr: my brother and his wife just adopted a little girl and now they need a new van. more about the situation under the cut
My older brother is the coolest. I know this because I am not cool but that never matters to him. I know this because two of his best friends are also the cool kids and the third is very definitely not cool and that doesn't matter to them.
My older brother is kind. I know this because he always has time for his younger sister (and the rest of our siblings) even though we are both grown adults and he has several children. I know this because he takes time to make sure that each of his children get his attention. I know this because he always makes sure his wife has what she needs to be happy.
My brother is friends with everyone he meets. The other day when I was visiting, he took our visit down the street so he could help a neighbor who had just had surgery. Sometimes I run into his friends when out and about and they are immediately friends with me because I'm his sister.
His wife is amazing. She is kind and creative. She is expecting their 7th child. She is introverted, but doesn't let that stop her from also reaching out to others and caring.
They became friends with Joe and Marci ages ago before Joe and Marci had Makayla. Makayla became friends with my brother's kids and even when my brother and his family moved, the kids still got together for play dates.
Unfortunately, Marci passed away in 2020 and Joe passed away at the end of May. Fortunately my brother and his wife were able to adopt Makayla as per Joe's will.
Makayla is doing well and cheerfully tells everyone that she is adopted.
My brother and his wife now, quite unexpectedly, no longer fit in their 8-passenger van and need to upgrade to a 12- or 15-passenger van so they can fit their entire family into one car (instead of, you know, taking two cars or two trips everywhere they go). These vans start at $35,000 used. They raised $14,000 through selling fireworks and still need about $20k more. Please help by donating or sharing the link.

A little drawing I made for @lyoth737 for Christmas - and also for our little belated anniversary? I still don’t understand how 1 ½ years could go by so fast… but I enjoyed every moment of it ❤️
