nah they’re just really good platonic friends who have lived together for ten years and shared three homes together and gone on two world tours together. i mean sure they’re soulmates and they make plans to adopt a dog and buy a house together but they’re just keeping each other company until the right person comes along. i think it would be extremely disgusting and disrespectful to assume they’re together when they haven’t explicitly told us :/

I always said I didn’t “ship” phan for the same reasons you said. I just admire and respect their relationship and enjoy their dynamic, but then my sister hit me with “how is that not shipping?” And I really couldn’t fight that. But hard agree that ranking a real and private relationship among “ships” is kind of uncomfy

they are in a romantic relationship, it’s a real thing, it’s not something that we “want” or “imagine” or “wish” to be real. how is that shipping? i get that if they weren’t or if we didn’t know about it and wanted them to be together regadless of the truth (like it was for some period of time) then yeah, i would agree with that rating or whatever. but right now, it really doesn’t make sense unless you change the definition of a word shipping. i mean, sure, people can do whatever they want i just don’t want to be a part of it. when people ask me if i ship Dan and Phil i say no, because saying yes would be like saying that wood is a metal.
