Im Just Mumbling - Tumblr Posts

So I have started reading Throne of Glass and got all the books from the library besides Kingdom of Ash, someone was faster than me and checked it out 😭.

I watched a video to see what order to read the story in and i really like the orders provided, but i know myself and given that there are already hints of the novellas, I’m probably going to read assassin’s blade next. If i wasn’t so sleepy i would have at least been about half way through, but my eyes are struggling rn cuz i didn’t get enough sleep last night 😪.

As for what i wanted to say to begin with (because i get really sidetracked lol), someone mentioned that a lot of people drop the book because the first one is kind of bland. I can’t see the blandness that much honestly. The little hints we are getting for MC’s backstory is really intriguing and i just read Dorian get slapped in the face by the king. I love drama. And let’s not forget the writing style, I feel closer to the characters with the way SJM wrote everything, or maybe im just so used to 3rd POV from reading fanfics lol. Either way, I noticed that I was instantly getting attached to MC (im blanking on her name, forgive me), Dorian (though he a hoe, i can already tell), and the captain of the royal guard (blankin on him too, i have goldfish brain 😪).

I just realized, i always get attached to the characters regardless 😭 so nevermind on that, but the writing does pull you in. I already see the POV switches everyone was talking about and while in red queen it hurt to read a switch, i know its going to be important for whatevers to come, that’s what it taught me. Patience 😭
