I understand that the red lyrium AUs and corruption AUs bother people but if you think that I am actually a bad person for painting that shit, then you make me personally deeply uncomfortable. I am not the fiction I create, and I don’t appreciate vitriolic language that implies that by creating a work of art that people do not like (even after tagging them all appropriately) that I am personally a danger to others or am actively a malicious individual.

Creating works of fiction and art that may go uncomfortable places is a thing that brings me happiness. I have stress and pain and bad places, just like everyone else - please don’t seek to reduce me or others to a 1 dimensional mustache-twirling caricature. But I understand not everyone enjoys this, so I have tried to be careful about tagging things, because I understand that some of these works may be deeply upsetting to people who are not in the right mood/headspace for them or who do not share my desire for or method of catharsis. I am not a sadist. I am not reveling in pain. I am painting something that lets me explore strong feelings.

But I am seeing a lot of posts about how the people who are engaging in red lyrium AUs are actually hurtful, cruel people and talentless hacks who have no basis creating art and I just really can’t figure out if the people making these posts realize that the difference between me drawing a fanart that is upsetting and them insulting artists/writers is that red lyrium au fanfic/fanart is fictional, whereas the people they are insulting are real fucking people.

If anything I paint is upsetting in some fashion, I would appreciate people letting me know so I can tag it in a fashion that will allow them to avoid it. Otherwise, I’m gonna get people a fucking ladder so they can get off my back.

red lyrium corruption au’s text post not art if you think whining about content people are creating is somehow superior to actually creating it I don't really know what to say to you I put myself out there every time I do something I enjoy showing what I do\ but when putting myself out there gets me insulted it's pretty baffling to figure out why anyone would want to create content in an environment like that if you want to be totally toxic to the rest of the fandom go ahead! constantly insult the rest of the fandom have fun peeing in our pool and then pretending you're a better person it's not fun police if you're insulting an actual person stop pretending that real people are less important than your precious fictional babies get a life and realize that you are more hurtful than the people you're claiming are bad people this isn't aimed at any one person mainly because there's a significant number of different people who are saying these things and with each new one there are more doing it every single person expressing this sentiment normalizes the idea that insulting the content creators in your fandom is a normal and alright thing to do on a regular basis you want to talk entitlement? how dare anyone expect fanart and fanfic then turn around and tell everyone doing it that they are wrong and they are hurting you and that they are satan if you don't like it don't look at it and if people are reblogging it that you follow
