All those jokes about English teachers trying to find meaning in shit that meaning doesn’t exist for are fucking true.

English teachers, Im begging you, learn the difference between visual symbolism in novels vs visual media. PLEASE. Yes, climbing a mountain in one shot can symbolize someone overcoming a monumental task, but saying someone was simply wearing red means NOTHING.
Also that context matters immensely because in any media, symbolism depends heavily on context. The scene of a woman covering a murder probably doesn’t have colour symbolism in the random objects.
