If Not You Can Still Help By Educating Yourself - Tumblr Posts

hi friends. i saw someone doing this on twitter and wanted to do it here on tumblr. as many of you know, the world is pretty much on fire right now. there’s the covid-19 pandemic, the racial pandemic, the humanitarian crisis in yemen, etc. and what i want to do is ask those of you who are financially stable enough to consider donating money with me to these three (3) organizations:

save the children | nearly 20% of the children have lost their homes. 70% don’t have access to clean water and sanitation. 10 million don’t have enough food to eat. help children in yemen.

black lives matter | eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on black communities by the state and vigilantes. help liberate black lives.

point of pride | funds will be used for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or other prescription refills, therapy or mental health services, and medical supplies. help the trans community.

i am fortunate enough to have a job where i can work from home, but i know that this isn’t the case for a lot of people, so please do not feel obligated to donate if you can’t.

BUT if you can, this is how i’m hoping this’ll work: if you have $1-$10 to spend, please consider pitching in via paypal @seosoojin OR sending me screenshots of your own donations. i will collect donations from 06/23/20 until 08/01/20, and i will match every single dollar (up to $700). this is the spreadsheet where i will list each donation (along with a screenshot as proof), and in august, i will divide the money evenly between each organization and donate it under the name “WITH LOVE”. i have close to 2.5k followers. if everyone were to donate $1, we would raise $3.2k (2.5+0.7) and donate over $1k to each organization.

if you can’t donate, that’s completely fine! again, do not donate if you aren’t able to! instead, i encourage you to reblog this post, spread awareness, research non-monetary ways to support, and further educate yourself on what’s going on. these issues aren’t going to go away. thousands of people are dying from racism, ignorance, and lack of empathy. we must do something. we must be the change.
