Info : Bakugo Katsuki x Fem Reader, Mild Language, Small Mention of Blood, Fluffly as Per Usual, Unedited
Being in a relationship with someone always came with a few surprises—good and bad. But, (Y/N) could confidently say, being in a relationship with a pro hero brought the most unexpected things, especially since the pro hero she was dating was none other than the hotheaded, explosive god of destruction, Dynamight.
There had been many instances where Bakugo Katsuki had surprised her. A few were less than welcomed surprises, ones that made her red in the face with anger and teary eyed with sadness, but all relationships had rocky moments, (Y/N) knew this.
(Y/N) was also surprised in warm, touching ways when it came to her strong hero of a boyfriend. He took her by surprise with his softness. In the first few months of their relationship, she was quite shocked to find his powerful hands—hands that could melt metal—could be so soft and caring with their touch.
His thoughtfulness caught her by surprise too. Who would've thought the fierce Dynamight would remember something as simple as someone's preferred jam flavor? The biggest surprise, however, was just how touchy he could be, but when he asked het to marry him—well, that was the best surprise yet.
It wasn't all that grand—maybe a bit improper, if you asked anyone else. He had pounded on her door in the middle of the night, out of breath and covered in battle grime. She had barely opened the door all the way when he grabbed her by the wrist and slammed their lips together, parting with a small grunt of pain.
‟I wanna marry ya.‟ And (Y/N) didn't have a moment to react to that before he nearly collapsed in her doorway. Truly a romantic man her Bakugo Katsuki was.
‟I wanna marry ya, d'ya hear?‟ he asked, shirtless and bleeding out on her toilet.
It made the woman huff as she tried her damndest to stop her hands from shaking. She had tended to his wounds before, but that never stopped the worry. Granted, the sudden marriage proposal didn't help her calm down either. ‟Katsuki I swear if you don't let me deal with this before you overwhelm me with somthing like that—‟
‟Somthin' like that?‟ He grabbed her hands and pulled her close, noses touching as he gave a snarky glare. ‟I'm tryin' ta marry ya women!‟
(Y/N) puffed out her cheeks because she could feel her eyes stinging. ‟Just wait a sec Kats,‟ she mumbled, gently pushing his hands away so she could go back to patching him up.
He huffed like a child, tossing his head back gently as she worked. ‟M'gonna marry you,‟ he mumbled to himself. ‟Gonna get hitched n'have ya move in with me.‟
(Y/N) shook her head lightly, pressing the bandage to his side wound. ‟Someone's a bit high on adrenaline.‟
‟I ain't just spouting shit!‟ he barked, looking down at her particularly. ‟I'm marrying your ass weather you believe me or not! V'got the ring n'everything.‟
‟You bought a ring looking like that?‟ she asked, raising a brow.
He shot her a bratty glare, looking more like a kindergartner than a top ranking hero. ‟No. I've had the ring for awhile, idiot, just haven't asked yet.‟
(Y/N) smiled softly to herself, that fluttery feeling in her chest as she pictured him picking out a ring for her. ‟Is that right? And why exactly hasn't the great explosion god Dynamight asked yet?‟
‟I wanted to take you to dinner.‟
‟This doesn't look like fine dining,‟ she teased, washing her hands.
‟Shut up, shitty woman, I decided to do it now! Is that not to your liking?!‟
‟No no, it's very romantic,‟ she smiled, giving him a soft kiss.
And two weeks after that night—after he slipped the ring on her finger before wrapping her in his arms for bed—Bakugo Katsuki was back at her door.
(Y/N) yawned softly, closing the door behind her bulky fiancé. ‟Suki, it's two in the morning, what are you—‟
‟I wanna marry ya.‟ Just like last time
(Y/N) blinked, staring at the man like he had three heads. ‟Uh, we are getting married,‟ she held up her left hand, the gem twinkling in the dimly lit hall as she wiggled her fingers. ‟In four months, remember?‟
‟No,‟ he grabbed her hand and dragged her to her room, ‟I mean right now. I want to marry you right now.‟
The ash-blond was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt and (Y/N) was wearing the same. He dragged her out of her house and they had made it half of the way to the courthouse before it finally set in.
(Y/N) still hadn't really processed it all and, before she knew it, she was standing outside the building with Katsuki right in front of her. ‟We're getting married? Right now?‟ she whispered.
He pulled her closer with a smirk, tilting his head and giving her a long, deep kiss. ‟Right now princess,‟ he mumbled against her lips. ‟Unless you wanna wait until the official date?‟
‟Wait?‟ she echoed, still pressed close to him.
‟Yeah. We can wait if ya wanna.‟
She hummed, taking in the man in front of her—gaze focused on the eager glow in his eyes and the soft flush of his cheeks. ‟No.‟
He smiled against her lips, a chuckle rumbling his chest. ‟Yeah? Ya wanna marry me right now?‟
This was the biggest surprise in their relationship—not the fact Katsuki wanted to marry her. No, (Y/N) never expected to feel such a beautiful want for anyone—to be so eager to dedicate the rest of her life with someone else.
When she responded, her voice was barely above a whisper. She spoke and Bakugo drank in her words, clung to her because he never ever expected to love someone so deeply—to want someone with his whole heart.
‟I do.‟
