I Was Listening To The Song Earlier And - Tumblr Posts

having thoughts about that part in the tlt musical during 'the last day of summer' when luke's singing about his betrayal and like. "i did everything they ever asked, yeah i did, and for what?" shows his naiveness when he was younger and now after his quest, he returned jaded and disillusioned with the gods, given an old quest and failing at that.

and then the way the music shifts to when he's mirroring percy's earlier lines in good kid, and luke's singing the parallel lines as percy (literally so similar to the tv series the last ep during the intro when luke says look you didn't ask to be a halfblood). and i think that shows so much how luke and percy are so similar but luke was turned by kronos after his quest at his weakest (mentioned above) when he was bitter and abandoned by his dad. and the song really reflects that that difference between him and percy. it has more of a darker and intense feel to it, fitting for the scene of the betrayal, and shows how he's seen how the gods have abandoned the demigods and how in the past he's tried to hard to become a hero and achieve glory but the gods have never done anything for him. and his lines, "it doesn't pay to be a good kid, a good kid, a good son" really hit so hard because what have his efforts in pleasing the gods gotten him? and he's just blinded by his rage, but his reasoning was completely justified, and kronos took advantage of him. it's late and i'm mourning the tragic hero luke castellan was.
