Spooked

"I really think I should just go home," Link complained as the line inched forward by half a step. He was a nervous wreck and he couldn't get his hands to stop shaking.

"No," Emily said, point blank. "This will be fun, trust me." she squeezed his arm tight as she tried to keep warm in the cool October air.

Link groaned, shoving his hands deep into his pockets to try and stop fidgeting. A haunted house wasn't exactly his idea of fun. But, he had spent the better half of two weeks with his nose stuck in a book cramming for midterms. Emily insisted a night out would be good for him.

He agreed to go but only under the condition that they would stop by the diner downtown that had those amazing milkshakes, which Emily happily agreed to. Now, waiting in line for the haunted house as he heard the screams coming from inside the seemingly abandoned warehouse, he wasn't so sure it was an even trade.

"I really don't think I can do this, Em." he said, keeping his eyes on the door that was only about eight people away at this point.

Link was pretty sure he had surpassed his scream quota for the day but he still let them out, one after the other, each a little higher than the last.

Emily chuckled, "Just remember, it's all a show."

That actually didn't help - at all.

They'd made it inside, passed a petite girl with long dark hair rocking slowly in a creaking chair. They saw a group of clowns behind bars, dim lights flashing as bloody arms stretched out to grab hold of the people walking past. Part of it even took them into a rickety school bus, they had to climb into the back and make their way toward the front as something Link couldn't exactly see jumped out from under the seats.

"Are we almost done?" Link asked as he clutched onto Emily's arm, walking down a hallway where the walls were stained with what looked to be blood but Link was sure it was far worse, given the smell. The tour had hit a bit of a lull during this part, the larger group was spilt into groups of two or three and guided to walk down one of three hallways.

"I think so," she said, her voice straining as she tapped Link's hand signaling to him to ease up on the grip. He did, feeling a little more comfortable than he was a moment ago.

He knew enough to expect someone to jump out at him, but he wasn't expecting it to come from behind. He heard the footsteps first, low and deliberate, he turned in enough time to see a man in blood covered overalls walking toward them, but closing the distance too easily. He carried a chainsaw and as soon as Link spotted him, the visceral sound filled the little hallway, setting Link into motion.

He turned back around, running away from the man and bumped right into another one. Before he could get control of his body, his fist came up, making contact with the nose of the guy towering over him and Emily.

"Link!" Emily shrieked, pulling him back away from the tall guy and the noise of the chainsaw suddenly stopped.

"What the fuck, dude." he said, Link looking over the guy in front of him only now noticing the axe in his hand.

"Oh, god. I'm so sorry. I just - " he looked to Emily, hoping she could offer up an excuse as to why he just punched a complete stranger.

The man with the chainsaw ran up behind them, "You alright, man?"

"Fine," he said wincing as he held onto his nose and looked down at Link.

"I don't know, Rhett. May need to take a look at it - just to be safe."

Link felt incredibly guilty and before he could stop his tongue from moving so fast he was offering to help the guy to the bathroom to make sure he was okay.  The stranger (Rhett, Link guessed) didn't object and before long, he was guiding Link to the bathroom through a kind of back walkway.

Seeing everyone behind the scenes kind of took the magic out of the haunted house. Everyone just kind of nodded or smiled as they walked by, which honestly just made Link feel a little embarrassed about the way he carried on.

They happened upon the bathroom, which from the outside looked absolutely disgusting and gave Link anxiety just by thinking about going inside. Though, when he opened the door, he was surprised to find a well kept, clean bathroom with two small stalls inside and a pedestal sink with a little mirror above it. Even though the walls were an avocado green like something from a 1950s magazine, it was nicer than most public restrooms, Link had to admit.

"You really didn't have to come with me. I'm a big boy." Rhett said, finally breaking the silence as he made his way to the sink, Link following close behind. He was surprised to see Rhett didn't seem upset about what Link had done. He seemed to think it was funny more than anything.

"I'm real sorry. I don't do great in... these things." he said, gesturing vaguely with his hand as he reached for the paper towel dispenser, pulling a few out and folding them up.

"Not the first time," he stated plainly, a little hint of a smile playing on his face. "You got a pretty mean right hook, though."

Link chuckled, unsure if he was being genuine or poking fun at him. He stepped closer to him armed with his handful of paper towels and reached across Rhett to turn the faucet on. His hands never really stopped shaking from before, being in a tight room with a guy he just assaulted was only making it worse.

"You're kinda cute when you blush like that," Rhett said, making Link's face turn even more red. He felt Rhett's eyes on him but the taller boy didn't move, he only watched Link. "Link, right?"

"Uh, yeah,"  he said, a little surprised he knew his name. Link had never seen him before, at least he didn't think so. He was sure he would remember such a tall frame and those green eyes that seemed to change colors as he moved, even in the awful lighting of this bathroom, they were captivating.

"Turn this way, will ya?" Link motioned for Rhett to turn away from the mirror, he did so - resting against the sink and splaying his legs out on either side of Link. He started on Rhett's forehead, wiping the make-up off gently.

Rhett let him continue cleaning the blood colored make-up from his face, both of them breathing in the silence filling the room. Link wanted to make conversation but what do you say to someone you punched in the face and didn't actually mean any ill-intent.

The make-up came off easily enough, the more Link wiped from his face the more he realized how handsome Rhett was. He had a shaved head but it had grown out slightly, Link could tell through the make-up he was working on a beard, and the way his cheeks rounded up when he smirked at Link was fucking adorable.

Link made his way down to Rhett's cheeks and the taller boy winced when Link came close to his nose.

"Does it hurt?" Link asked, throwing some towels away and getting another handful.

"Just a little tender." Rhett said, his eyes focusing on Link a little too intently. "Nothing too bad."

Link finished cleaning Rhett's face and a little down his neck, which actually wasn't necessary but Link kind of got lost in the actions. Despite the way he looked, Link kept noticing how good he smelled, a little woodsy with a hint of mint, and something else he couldn't quite place. He watched Rhett watch him from the corner of his eyes, occasionally meeting his gaze and quickly glancing away only to feel heat rush to his face again, knowing Rhett would notice the flush of color.

He threw the last bundle of paper towels in the garbage, "Lucky for you, it seemed to be just the fake blood."

"That's good." Rhett said, but made no movement to get up from where he was still propped on the little sink.

Link nodded, "So, uh, I don't think we've met before, have we?"

Rhett smiled like he was keeping some sort of secret, "No, we haven't. But, I've seen you in Mr. Cooper's class, though."

"Oh, okay. I - I don't remember seeing you."

"Wow, and here I was thinking I'd always be seen," Link's eyes got wide and he was about to explain that he meant nothing by it when Rhett picked up on his panic. "Relax, I'm teasing. I get there early and usually sit in the back. I don't like being in people's way."

Link relaxed a bit, he was still standing incredibly close to Rhett, his feet planted right in between Rhett's outstretched legs.

"I've definitely seen you though." Rhett said and Link's stomach fluttered. He just assumed Rhett had a flirty personality, Link was used to bringing that out in girls and boys alike. But, something was different in the way he said it.

"Really, that's..." Link cleared his throat, he wasn't used to being this flustered. "... nice." Link couldn't help the upturn of his lips.

Rhett's hand came up and touched the hem of Link's t-shirt, "Thanks for.... helping me clean up." Rhett whispered, letting the weight of his hand pull Link forward. He took a tiny step, really liking the direction this impromptu meeting was headed.

Link could smell that scent again, it was absolutely intoxicating and Link could feel his pants become a little tighter at the gentle pull. Link could get used to being this close to Rhett.

"You're welcome," he whispered back before lunging forward and connecting their lips. It was slow at first, but Rhett let his hands rest on Link's hips, pulling him closer.

Link wrapped his arms around Rhett’s neck, his fingers feeling the rough texture of his buzz cut. The boy beneath him let out a soft moan, Link felt it reverberate through his body.

Link felt Rhett's warm hands venture under his shirt, pushing it up as his fingers drug against his skin. He could feel himself grow harder as Rhett pulled him closer in between his legs, he thought he felt Rhett against him too.

Rhett pulled away, Link surprised to find himself short of breath. "Is this okay?" Rhett said, breath dancing across Link's face.

Link nodded, "Mmhmm." He pulled him in again, more eager this time, his fingers raking over the soft stubble of his not yet formed beard. He felt Rhett chuckle underneath him but he only pulled him closer, hands splaying wide across his back, his rough fingers sending shivers down Link's spine.

"I - I don't do this usually." Link breathed in between the fevered kisses, not wanting Rhett to think he was easy.

"Wouldn't bother me if you did," Rhett replied, reaching his hand between the two of them and rubbing at Link's bulge.

His breath hitched, gasping at the intensity of the pleasure coursing through his body and how quickly he felt the familiar tightening deep in his gut.

Rhett stood up, Link almost whining at the loss of friction. He turned him around, so Link faced the mirror, he was able to watch Rhett behind him as he kissed the back of his neck. Link leaned his head to one side, exposing more skin for Rhett to explore.

Rhett's arm wrapped around Link, his hand reaching under his shirt as fingertips brushed gently against his nipples. "Oh, fuck, Rhett." Link breathed out a shuddering moan.

Rhett didn't take his eyes off Link in the mirror, his hooded eyes watching as Link came apart in his arms. Rhett's free hand wrapped around Link, skilled fingers undoing the button of his jeans and reaching inside Link's boxers.

His large hand wrapped around Link's cock, expertly twisting his wrist just right. Link bit back a moan, his hand coming up behind Rhett's head, holding him in place as he continued mouthing Link's neck.

He could feel Rhett's excitement hard against his ass, the taller boy thrusting gently against Link's body.

"Fuck, you're so pretty." Rhett husked against his ear. "You gonna come for me, baby boy?"

The pet name sent Link over the edge, catching a glimpse in the mirror of a cocky grin plastered across Rhett's face. He gasped out a strangled moan, feeling warmth cover him as Rhett slowed the pace of his hand.

Link relaxed against the taller boy, his head lolling back onto Rhett's shoulder. "Holy shit," he breathed out, his face turning a new shade of red, though, he wasn't exactly sure why after what they had just done.

After giving Link a moment to recover, Rhett reached past him to clean up in the sink, Link trying his best to stand on shaky knees. He tucked himself back inside his pants, quickly buttoning them again and turning to face Rhett who was pressing a hand down onto his still noticeably tented pants.

"You w - uh, want me to take care of you?" Link asked shyly, unsure of the proper etiquette for this type of situation.

Rhett only chuckled, stepping closer to Link. "I'm good." he said, putting a finger under Link's chin and making him look up. He pressed a sweet kiss to Link's lips. "I'd really like to see you again though. You wanna maybe get a drink after my shift is over?"

Link grinned like a maniac, "I'd love that."

Link failed miserably at looking innocent when he met up with Emily again. But, he really couldn't care less.
