Everybody’s talking about how Hitsugaya suddenly growing up doesn’t make any sense. I don’t really care that much about him as a character, but I dunno about that.

English is not my first language and I had not enough time to proof read everything until now, I hope to be able to do this soon. If you find mistakes, please correct me, it could be I do not know any better! I really hope you enjoy this and he is not too ooc or somehting.

Trigger warning : Mobbing and insecurities After you got readyyou joined the rest of the 10thdivision. The day was quite good until it became evening. Rangikuagain asked you to bring her papers to the captain but this time theywere actually finished. You had torealized that until now. Had Toshiro healed you while you weresleeping? "I do not remember you to be able to use healing kidos,or most kidos for that fact since you never mange to speak the wordscorrectly how pathetic." He laughed but then got dead serious. Heturned you around to face him, still with the hand on your moth andhis zanpakuto on your neck. One of the other ones, took yours fromyou. You had been so deep in your thought you had not felt them, evenwhen they were this near. You had been so close to the office. Justaround the corner down the floor. "Tell me who have you told?"His voice was silent to not get caught by anyone, but still it madeyou shiver. He suddenly grabbed your neck and but pressure on it,taking his hand of your mouth. You tried to kick him, but he justpushed you against a wall "Tell me!" you were not able to scream,there was only a whimper escaping your lips while you were fightingfor air. "Tell me, or you will be punished or maybe I should punishyou either way, what do you think of some fun with us?" The otherschuckled and his other hand began to move to your chest. No! PleaseNo! "Tai-cho...please..." Suddenly there was a huge spiritualpressure. It made the group around you stumble and look around inpanic, some were having trouble to even stand. Out of nowhere youwere let go but something stop you from falling down holding you upright against something warm and soft. Another body? The man beforeyou had fallen to his knees holding his arm which was covered inblood and ..ice? The ice was spreading all over his body. He began toscream, to beg for mercy, but the ice would not stop. You noticedeveryone around you was meeting the same fate their bodies wereslowly taken over by ice. "Mercy?" You heard your captains voicebut it was not warm like the times he spoke to you neither annoyed,it was cold, cold as ice. "You are pathetic. Hurting a single youngwoman, nearly still a girl. Five against one, you must be reallyscared of her. You pitful cowards. You are banned from my divisionand there will be a trial for what you have done. You are lucky I donot kill you or make you suffer than just giving you a fewfrostbites, but if you ever dare to hurt her in anyway or even justscare her, you will deeply regret it." Now you understand how itcame that people said he was cold and emotionless, still you feltnothing but safe by his side and h about the fact, that the handwhich was not at his zanpakuto, rubbed small calming circles at yourarm while pressing you against his chest. The ice continued to growuntil they had visible problems to breath, but were still somehowable to do so " I am just returning the favor" Toshiro spoke thenhe turned you around and let his eyes wander over you. You tried tofight back the tears, but it was hard so really hard and the momenthis eyes became soft and warm you lost the fight and a sob escapedyour lips. He pulled you up in his arms and flashstepped away withyou. He brought you in his office and gently laid you down on thecoach. " I lost th-the papers.." you were still barely able tospeak and it hurt, it hurt a lot even just breathing hurt. "I-""Hush, now" He put a finger on your lips silencing you. "Stoptalking you idiot, you hurt yourself" he said, put his tone waswarm. Then he began without another word to heal you. After hefinished he stood up and left the room returning with tray and twocups of tea and one cup of water. In the meantime you had managed tosit up but you did not dare to look in his eyes. You had been sohelpless and caused him trouble. "Here, drink" he was holding thecup of water in front of you. You tried to take it but your handswere shaking badly. "I guess it can't be helped" he said softlyand if you had looked up you had seen his warm small smile. Hewithout letting you more time to react put the cup to your lips andmade you drink. He was making sure you drank the whole cup beforeputting it back to the table. Then you heard him growl "I shouldhave punished them more, now I see how scared they got you and howbadly they affected you, you are still shaking..." his voice wasgetting softer to the end "How long?" "Si-ince the day I camehe-here" "I should have made you tell me the first day I noticedsomething was off. They threaded you to not tell anyone, right?"You just nodded weakly, You still felt pathetic and weak. "You knowyou could have beat them yourself, you are stronger then them believeme. Do not think of you as weak, I know you do, I can see it clearlyin your eyes and your body language is screaming it, really. Stopbeing sorry or thinking about being a burden, having caused troubleand I do not know what else. You know being afraid is not generally abad thing. You react better, when you are scared, notice more, areeven able to use more of your physical abilities but being terrifiedcan also be like a poison when something brings us to the point ofnot being able to move. You must have been so scared. Feeling alone,afraid to tell anyone, or what would happen when you fight back,until it all did not matter anymore, because you just were terrifiedwhat they would do next. There is nothing to be ashamed of. It is noteasy to get your feelings under control especially in a fight  andfear is one of the hardest to contain. That needs practices andexperience. This is definitely nothing you were supposed to learn atthe academy you know?" You shyly look up and saw his gaze directlyat you, when your eyes met new tears began to form in your eyes. Without a word he pulled you in his chest and wrapped you in his arms "You are safe now." he promised you and you stopped fighting againstit and just cried while rambling words and thoughts " I- I was ..I..so scared...they ..th-they tried t-to want-" "Hey, it's okay. Iwill never let them harm you." He held you close until you calmeddown. Then he persisted for you to drink some tea. "I am sorry ittook me so long. I was keeping track of your spirit pressure all thetime the moment I sensed the change I was in a meeting with Commander Byakuya so it took me a moment to come back to the quarters.""Y-you just left him standing there?" "Ye-eah" he admitted "I just said I had to take care of something. I guess I have toexplain it to him later. " "There is no need. I fully understandnow why you needed to go. My apologies for interrupting. I followedyou since this behavior is not like you,  Commander Hitsugaya" Wereit your nerves or did Byakuya really sound warm and understanding? "Iwill take care of the group outside if this is alright with you."Hitsugaya nodded " Thank-you that would be a great help" Byakuyaturned around " Oh and you should make sure the poor girl eatssomething she is quiet pale" Commander Byakuya added and left. Toshiros gaze was on you again " He is right you should eatsomething" You nodded weakly. "ca-captain?" "Mhm?" "I-Iknow i-it is not my my pl-place to ask an-and really qu-quite sillybu-but could I stay in your a-arms just a moment l-longer" youspoke, softly getting quiet to the end, afraid of his reaction. Toyour great surprise he pulled you without a word  in his arms, sothat your head was laying safely at his chest. "Thank-you taicho"you shyly muttered " and thank- thank-you so much for rescuing me"He shrugged " Kind of comes with the job description. I am yourcommander it is my duty and my honor to watch over your safety. Ohand (y/n) you are really welcome." A yawn escaped your lips. Thestress of the last hour was taking its tool on you making you tiredand your mind dizzy. A wave of exhaustion hit you and with the smellof you captain and his warmth  you began to feel intoxicated."Taicho? Why do you call me by -by my f-first name. You  seem toca-call everyone else by there their lastnames." Toshiro began tostroke your hair in a calming manner "That is true there are fewpeople I call by their firstname. For you there is quite a simplereason. I figured it would make you feel more save. Matsumoto saidyou always flinched when she choose to use your lastname so I decidedagainst it. Also you should know I heard a few thinks about yourfamily from Captain Kuchiki. He met your family a few timeswhen you were still a bit younger he even met you, but he said youwere probably too young to remember. He told me the way your parentsact to you and some more things and I want you to know that it doesnot matter if  they think  you are good enough, the only one you needapproval  from is yourself. If it helps I would be really proud if Ihad a daughter who made it in the 13 Gotei and left the Academy withthe grades you did. Also I am proud of you as your captain." Hepatted your head "Come now we need to get you something to eatbefore you fall asleep..wait are you crying yet again? Geez you aretroublesome" but he laughed about the last part and you had tothink that his laugh was beautiful. "Taich" "Leave theformalities when we are alone (y/n). I am not even using yourlastname, it would only be fair like this." You blushed at this.You knew for a fact that his title was important to him cause he wasso young and he did not want to be underestimated by people."Thank-you Toshiro" "See, better." He stood up and simplypicked you up along with it "Tai-Toshiro? I-I can wa-walk youknow?" He gave you a look "In all honestly I highly doubt that.Not after that state you were in. Also it really su-suits you whenyou blush" Wait was he, was THE captain Hitsugaya flirting withyou?! And did he just blush? That was not possible, definitely notpossible. You meant yes you had a crush on him, since the very firstday you saw him walking by when you were still in the academy and hewas there for you actually did not know what for, but you were morethan sure someone like him would never as much as spare you a glance.Yet, he ... he... "Cat caught your tongue?" He teased havingfound his cool and cold manner back. You shyly look up and found hiseyes directly at you. "I...I" You blushed "you, you are reallyare adorable" and there he blushed again, but he did not look awaythis time. "I would like to test something, but please...do..do nothit me yeah.. I just have a feeling you might will like ...likeit..." Suddenly he had but you down on your feet again, but wasstill holding you with one arm near his chest, while he grabbed yourchin with hos other hand lightly titled it up and kissed you. Youfelt his lips on yours, the kiss was soft, not in anyway demanding,just soft, caring, lovingly. You were so confused, your heart seemedto run and you felt your legs getting weak as you shyly  kissed back,your eyes closed. He gently broke the kiss and you opened your eyes,looking directly in his shining orbs and this was the moment yourlegs simply gave up and you would have fallen, if it had not been forhis strong and protective grip on you. "See I told you I doubt youwould be able to walk" He teased you and you blushedprofessionally. "T-to-toshi" "Mhm?" He hummed and picked youup yet again, holding you close to him. "I take it you like me, toosince you kissed back" He was smirking proudly, but there was alsoa small blush evident on his cheeks.  You nodded shyly and tried tohid in his chest, but he was not having that. He dipped you in hisarms "Good then there is no reason for me to not do this" and thenext moment his lips claimed yours again, this time more passionate.He left you breathless. "You...you know..that was the other reason,why I really wanted you in my division. I sorry I must have caughtyou of guard with all this, it is just after I saw you hurt like thatI could not help myself but wanted to make you feel loved andappreciated." Now he was definitely blushing, a lot. "Every timeI was in the academy to get a look at the skills o you and others Ifell more for you. For the way you acted to others, every singledetail I had the luck to see of your personality and of course in thebeauty of the beautiful shinigami in my arms. You know I was thinkingoften about talking to you back there, especially when you felt down,but I always fearded I would not be able to hide my feelings and didnot want to push you in any direction or give you the feeling you hadto join my division or something like this" Toshiro all butstumbled over his words you smiled at him and you knew your face wasreally, really red and your heart was warm and beating fast. Shylyyou put a hand to his cheek and tried to get up a  bit in his arms,so you put your hands on his shoulders and really wanted to kiss him,but your shyness was getting in your way and you began to think aboutit way too much until suddenly he was kissing you. "You areworrying too much" he whispered between two kisses "do not bescared" He encouraged you and kissed your forehead. You blushedagain but were still too shy to began a kiss yourself "(y/n) juststop thinking and kiss me, Captains order" he smirked at you andthe way he look at you took your breath. You were sure he would bethe death of you. He got a smock grin on his face. And say they youare emotionless, they have no idea, you thought. You took a deepbreath " I..I really like you ...captain" and with that youfinally kissed him. " and I you" He responded after the kiss andhis eyes held so much warmth. " Now we really need to get yousomething to eat" he stated. He walked with you out of the quartesand outside he said you down because he figured you would not like tobe in the middle of the attention and oh you would have been for sureif he continued to carry you, still he did put his arm around yourwaist and pulled you close to him. After you both had eatensomething he said you should head back and you were confused when hedid not lead you to your quarters but to his "Like I said I can notleave you alone after what had happen earlier  and I also do not wantto allow you to leave my side." He gave you some clothes from himto sleep and they really were a bit to big for you and waited foryou. This time you fell a sleep in his arms to him whispering sweetnothings in your ear. "sleep well there is no need to cry anymore I will protect you"~

Your pride has built a wall, so strong that I can't get through.
