Epona only lived till Gloam was about 5, though she was over 40 or so years old by then, and a lot of people, especially Malon, were shocked at how long she lived. Shortly after meeting Gloam, she passed away.

By the time Gloam was maybe 13 or 14 yrs old, he named his horse after Epona, though unfortunately misremembered her name, naming her Enora.
