Given my parents religious backgrounds, this ties into how despite my mother having been daughter of a shrine keeper, it doesn’t conflict with the Buddhist traditions kept bey her side of the family. Both have quite some Buddhist traditions (Mahayana & Vajrayana respectively) along with Shintoism & Tengriism (by the respective parents) in a syncretic form, as is common in the societies of East & Central Asia. Choose your own spiritual path, but think well on the picture above while making your own choice.
