Confession: I believe Chapter 4 of Danganronpa V3 would of had a better twist if Gonta and Kokichi swapped roles, as in Kokichi killing Miu and being executed, while Gonta becomes the main antagonist in Kokichi’s place.

Think of this, as Gonta slowly looses all his friends, he becomes more unstable and paranoid. Kokichi dying would be the last straw for him, as he believes he is responsible for Miu’s death, as he was involved in the murder plan. And he would’ve seen Kokichi as his best friend at that point of the game, so his death would’ve taken the worst mental toll of him.

This drives Gonta to almost insanity, and he starts acting like an antagonist, trying to cope with his deteriorating mental state, which leads to chapter 5, where he takes Kokichi’s place as the murder victim.

This could’ve helped sympathize more with Gonta and Kokichi more as characters, and helped realize the severity of death to the other characters that are stuck in the killing game, along with explaining the severity of murder and what it truly means in this game.
