Soft Rin doodles to cope with today’s episode

there's a scene in the fruits basket manga that i keep thinking about (by which i mean right now because i've gone back to the anime and it's the episode where rin and haru break up) and it's.

when haru "i knew that i was putting rin at risk by falling in love with her. i knew i was putting her at risk by confessing to her. i knew i was putting her at risk by our being in a relationship. i knew all of this and i did it anyway because i wanted her." and haru walking eyes wide open into something that would hurt someone he said he loved and acknowledging that's not love.

(and akito pulling that out of him. you knew what i would do if i found out and you put her at risk anyway. and haru acknowledging that as true. and that doesn't excuse what akito did. but haru acknowledging that he was trying to set himself up as a safe place for rin while all the while he was just putting her at risk.)

like.

the complications of the relationships in fruits basket. and the acknowledgment of how screwed up even an admittedly good relationship could be.

i just.

WE LOVE RIN FOREVER 🫶🫶🫶 that girl is baddie - a boss - a slay!! and it makes me so happy they let someone remain that can't forgive akito - like i felt so validated in my own feelings 😭

i also think akito is un-redeemable. i understand her and can sympathise but she still could've chose to be a better person a million times -SHE THREW MY GIRL OFF A CLIFF AND BACKSTABBED SOMEONE LITERALLY SHE THREW RIN OUT OF A WINDOW AND SLAPPED A CHILDDDD LIKE WHAAAAAAATTTTTT

yuki & machi are cute and i'm glad it wasn't a love triangle thing with tohru in the end lol 😅 but yeah definitely rushed and they weren't a fav couple (even tho the clip of him breaking the chalk is what made me wanna watch fruba) but i feel like they could've made their friendship last longer or at least have more interactions - i can't remember if she was introduced in season 2 or was it mostly season 3?? but yeah they should've spread they're relationship out a bit more because to me it wasn't totally clear that yuki had romantic feelings more machi, like i thought he was just trying to be a better friend/person like tohru yk??

OMG AND SHIGURE (hate to say it but i do love him because he's funny and hot and YES IK that it's a shallow reason BUT SO WHAT) but im pretty sure he's some sort of sociopath or narcissist with the way he is so cold and sees everyone as a piece to make his plan work

ANYWHOOO this was long but i just love this show sooo much and the fandom feels like it's on its last legs some days 😭🥲

Ok - this will be my last post about Furuba as I just finished it and I need to let it out…

Let me just say, all in all, this anime has left my heart in pieces, I am an emotional wreck and I don’t think I will EVER be able to get over it but this is exactly why it is absolutely beautiful.

Look… I am forever a Kyo stan, I love my bakaneko to the moon and back but this guy… THIS GUY, Haru, totally made me lose my mind during season 3. And this scene again, was everything to me. The fact that Rin felt like she could not forgive was the healthiest emotion among all the zodiac members. And Haru accepting and sympathizing with that is just 🤌. Ah… just amazing.

I did feel for Akito in the end. But no, unfortunately I did not come to love her and I can’t forgive her for all she has done no matter why she has done it. As Rin also said, she has done way too much. Especially when she stabbed Kureno… I’m sorry that was the last drop for me, no coming back. Brilliant character, but imo she’s not redeemable.

I wanted so much for Shigure to be better than what he has shown… but ah no, my boy is also way too twisted and my heart aches that he had to have this very bad narcissistic personality. Even thought I wanted to love him I can’t. 😩 But he is no doubt, a pretty perfect match to Akito…

I’m happy for everyone else, although I felt that Yuki’s relationship was a bit rushed with Machi compared to all other ones? Not sure if anyone else felt that way.

So anyway, it was a huge emotional rollercoaster for me and I’m so happy I watched it!

… and I love this one so much. He deserves the whole world.

This took a while for me to work on, but I finally finished it. I love the new Fruits Basket series as much as I love the 2001 series.
