Part 1 of the romcom series bc lbr, The Lizzie McGuire Movie was a formative romcom of my childhood.
It might be my birthday, but for some reason the awareness makes me think about Gaza from the very moment I've woken up today.
I can't help but think about people on the Strip, fighting for their lives on the day of their birth or just on the first day of Ramadan. If the war wasn't there, they would choose to fast. Now they lack food. I saw people celebrate despite the bombs and ruins around them. It touches my heart to deeply and cuts it even deeper.
My wish is for Israel. I wish they realize their actions, the atrocity and genocide they're committing. I wish they stop and bow in apology. I wish they step away and leave the people of Gaza. I can't articulate my thoughts today. I just want cease fire.
If you think about a gift for me, I'd rather you donate to Gaza's cause instead. I am not the one starving or needing new things. My house still stands despite the renovations it needs.
If I was there, I would hug every child in Rafah. If I was there, I would hug every Palestinian adult and offer comfort and help. If I was there, I'd use my skills to tend the wounded, help with burials and make sure people find peace even if only for a moment.
My heart is with Gaza. It will be with them no matter how this hell ends. It will still be with them.
Learn about Palestine. Speak about Palestine. Protest. Donate. Help. Save Palestine and let them live their life away from the oppressor.
