Seungcheol:
I can see S.coups as being the type of boyfriend to love complimenting you, and when he realizes just how red and blushy it makes it'll make it twenty times more appealing, and he'll bask in those sweet moments when you avoid his eyes, playing awkwardly with the edges of your sleeve, feeling his heart melt a little in his chest. On the other hand, I can also see him as being very protective of you, always jumping to your rescue when he notices someone making you uncomfortable, whisking you away with a friendly smile on his face or simply grabbing your hand, squeezing your fingers gently to show you he's right beside you.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart."
Jeonghan:
Jeonghan is a merciless tease, and you don't get any privileges as his S/O in that area. Jeonghan will do anything and everything to evoke those adorable reactions of yours, pinching your cheeks, calling you his 'pumpkin', speaking to you in a baby-like voice, not stopping until you're absolutely red and can't even look him in the eye, covering your blushing face with your hands and turning away from him. Your boyfriend will coo, pulling your hands away gently and peppering your face with little butterfly kisses, apologizing and promising to stop, but the wide grin on his face gives him away, and you can't really be mad when you see him smile so beautifully.

Joshua:
I think Josh will be torn between being absolutely endeared by your sweetness to feeling bad about making you so flustered. He'll always assure you that you can be 100 percent comfortable with him, but he won't be able to stop himself from chuckling whenever you blush bright red or trip over your words at a simple touch or a petname, and he'll reach over to pinch your cheek fondly only to apologize profusely when you turn even more awkward then before, playing with your hair and avoiding his eyes. Basically, your boyfriend is just too in love with anything you do, but at the end of the day he wants you to feel safe and confident in his company.

Junhui:
Despite being one of the older members in seventeen, Jun is constantly being babied by the other members in the group, so he will love to be the babying one for a change. I can see him as the type to say so many sweet things to the point where your heart feels like it might burst, and you'll bury your head in his shoulder, hiding your lovesick grin from his all-knowing eyes. And Jun won't be any better, laughing and wrapping his arms around you, finding it absolutely adorable how shy you get, and he'll probably tell you that as well, maybe adding a little gentle teasing to help you loosen up, wanting to hear that precious laugh of yours that he loves so much.

Soonyoung:
Hoshi won't take advantage of your shyness like Jeonghan but he'll find you incredibly cute despite not wanting to make you uncomfortable, and his smile will always appear whenever he sees you blushing or mumbling quietly. Hoshi is the type to make you shy without meaning it too, simply with his sweet words or affectionate gestures, and many times, his attempts to loosen you up have the opposite effect as well, and you get even more flustered by his pretty smile and gentle words of endearment, and by the way he ruffles your hair, looking at you like you hung up all the stars in the sky.

Wonwoo:
It will probably take Wonwoo I while to notice how shy you actually are, being a pretty quiet and reserved guy himself. And he isn't really the type to say cheesy things or be too touchy outdoors so it'll take some time for him to actually make you flustered, probably during one of these moments late at night or when he's just woken up and he's still in that dreamy state of mind, and he'll just grab you and kiss your neck and whisper how amazing you are and how much he loves you, and then he'll look up to see your face tomato red and your shy smile barely peeking out as you bite you lips. It'll probably make him shy as well, and he won't be able to look in your eye, but he won't really mind because you look so cute and it makes him smile as well.
"God, I love you."
Woozi:
Woozi isn't really the romantic type as well, choosing to show his love through actions rather than words or PDA. So when he does say something sweet or cheesy, he'll probably be just as much of a mess as you, the two of you fiddling with your hands and biting back smiles after he admits he loves you. It might take a few minutes for the two of you to go back to normal again, and Woozi will give you as much space as you need, apologizing despite knowing how much you like it. He'll also be a bit protective of you, and when others will put you in the spotlight he will be quick to change the subject, putting an arm around your waist as if to shield you from everyone.
"I know I don't say this a lot, but... I don't know what I'd do without you."
Dokyeom:
Dokyeom loves it so much lol he's living the dream. This guy is a sunshine, and he's so loving that it'll be impossible for you not to blush around him, with his constant need to touch, always pressing kisses to the apples of your cheeks and playing with your fingers, and his many terms of endearment, ranging from 'baby' to 'the light of my life'. Whenever you get shy, DK will smile that beautiful grin of his, his eyes turning into little crescents, and he won't be able to stop giggling, poking at your cheeks when you try to hide from him. He'll also apologize between his bursts of laughter, assuring you that it's fine to be shy and that he loves it, and he really does, constantly showing off his 'shy cutie'.

Mingyu:
Mingyu is well known for his duality, so he can be either a confident piece of shit or he can be a complete puppy just preening over you as if he just got his favorite treat. Sometimes he'll tease you, making dumb jokes and winking greasily, but it's just to make you laugh and to see the red on your neck spreading even further. And sometimes he'll just smile, looking at you with these lovesick eyes and just basking in your cuteness, which makes you even more flustered. When you'll push him away, whining, he'll grab your fingers and pull you back into his arms, burying his face in your neck and whining right back at you, wondering how a human being be so adorable.
"Ah, Y/N, why are you so adorable?"
Minghao:
Minghao won't really think too much about what he's saying or doing, feeling completely comfortable next to you, so he constantly surprises you by pressing random kisses to your cheek or by telling you how pretty you are, not even noticing what he's doing until he sees the blush sitting high on your cheeks and how quiet you've become. Then he'll smile, not too wide so he won't make you uncomfortable, and apologize while keeping that loving, amused smile on his face. Even if he looks rather composed on the outside, he'll be trying his hardest not to blush as well, his stomach filled with butterflies as the sight of your addicting cuteness.
"I'm sorry, jagi. I didn't mean to fluster you."
Seungkwan:
I feel like Boo thinks you're the cutest human to ever grace the land of this planet on a regular day, so when you become all red and stuttering his heart might as well leap out of his chest. Seungkwan's constant battle will be between comforting and calming you to hugging you and never letting go, and he usually ends up doing both. But I also think your boyfriend will work really hard to make you comfortable with him, always reminding you that you never need to feel embarrassed when you're with him, but also reassuring you that he loves you exactly that way you are, your shyness and awkwardness being part of your irresistible charm.
"You don't have to be shy with me, yeobo."
Vernon:
Honestly, you'll probably be the one making Vernon shy and awkward most of the time. This baby isn't really good with words and feelings and he'll find himself more often than not stuttering and stumbling when he tries to think of ways to tell you just how beautiful and precious you are. On the rare times Vernon will be teasing and cheeky he'll crack the second he sees your red cheeks and wide eyes, erupting into his adorable laughter and joining your blush fest. He'll probably apologize as well, avoiding your eyes to not make the situation more uncomfortable as he covers his mouth with his hands, occasionally sneaking a glance and looking away immediately because you're just too cute to ignore.

Chan:
I feel like at the start Dino will be too shy to tell you all the sweet things in his head, fanboying over you on the inside and acting cool on the outside, but eventually he'll become more comfortable and he'll just say whatever is on his mind, often telling how cute and pretty you are. At these times you'll turn into a blushing mess, and your boyfriend won't be able to stop the wide smile spreading on his face, laughing uncontrollably at the sight of your cuteness, so much he actually starts blushing as well. When you push him away, whining at him to stop, he'll simply hug you, explaining that he wasn't laughing at you, he was just endeared by your adorableness, making you even more shy and flustered.

Hello fellow Carats! This post is purely mind vomit so enjoy. Also I am open to suggestions for what happens next cause I have no ideas. Stay healthy and snazzy! :)
You were lucky you had a year’s worth of subway trips attached to the metro card you carefully tucked back into your wallet. You would hate it if you had to walk to every single open call audition you attended and the subway just makes your life easier, even if it is teeming with germs, sketchy characters, and most definitely no space to feel fully comfortable. Traveling from Washington Heights to the center of the city was a mildly long trip and you were always sure to have your pepper spray and taser close at hand in case anyone tried to fuck with you. Besides that, you always wore a glare on your face that you hoped would keep people away in the first place.
The subway was quite full this morning with early morning business people with their coffee, plenty of tourists, the occasional musician that hopped on to play a song or two- it was New York City and nothing really surprised you anymore. When you first moved here after college, it was a bit of a culture shock but you’ve gotten used to it and even grew to love it.
The subway came to a stop, not yours quite yet. You watched as some people got off and a new set of people got on, crowding up the subway cart even more. You held onto the metal pole in the subway as the voice overhead instructed, shifting in your Doc Martens- a signature choice for any audition you attended- as the subway lightly jolted you around. You were practically shoulder to shoulder with the people next to you, sharing the pole in front of you with many other hands, which agitated your claustrophobia a bit and kept you on high alert to the people around you.
The subway passed through a particularly rocky part underground and everyone shifted with it, careful not to lose their balance. A lady in business attire standing to your left, having a loud and somewhat obnoxious conversation with an earpiece, lightly bumped into you but she didn’t seem to notice. You rolled your eyes at her and shifted your feet slightly away from her towards the figure standing next to you. Almost immediately, you felt them step on your foot and pull away after a half-assed apology, which annoyed you even more. What is it with everyone getting in your personal space today? You heard a phone ring to your right and the person answered.
“Yes I’m on my way…. “ The deep voice sounded agitated, as if he was running late, or maybe he hated standing so closely to other people as much as you did. “Well tell him that it's not my fault he forgot his… Do you want me to get there even later than-”
Out of nowhere, the subway violently lurched forward coming to a stop and you held on tightly to the pole catching yourself. The person to your right was not nearly as lucky. Having not been holding onto the pole at all, he put his hands out to catch himself, though it was not his hands that caught his fall, but your chest. Once he noticed where his hands were, he quickly removed them, as if he had just touched something sweltering, and his face went a bright red.
It was only then that you noticed the young man standing in front of you. He was about your age, maybe a little older, with short brown wavy hair that was pristinely swooped out of his face and effortlessly flawless skin. How he had only just now come to your attention was so beyond you and you had to stop yourself from staring too long.
“I am so sorry,” he said slowly, looking at you with sincerity in his large brown eyes. You both stood there, staring at each other like a pair of idiots, waiting for the other to make the next move. You felt your cheeks get hot as well, not just because of the accidental interaction but because you felt an aggravating yet obvious attraction to this man.
“The subway stopped,” you said simply, your attention suddenly drawn away to the other obvious situation at hand. “Shit! The subway stopped!”
You weren’t running late but you always showed up to your auditions early enough to warm up. Who knows how long the subway was going to be stopped and if you would even make it to your audition at all. The New York City subways aren’t the most reliable in the world. Commotion and anxiety started growing amongst the subway passengers stuck in the cart with you and everyone started looking around and talking amongst each other worriedly.
“Are you okay?” you heard the voice ask. You looked him in his eyes again, your heart picking up pace for some ungodly reason. “I swear it was an accident.”
“You know there’s a reason you’re supposed to hold onto the poles,” you said, colder than you intended. You didn’t mean to be rude to him but it sort of just flew out. “They announce it like a million times before the subway takes off.”
“Yeah… I know,” he said, sheepishly, breaking away from your gaze and placing a hand above yours on the pole.
“So why did you choose to ignore it? My chest isn’t a stable part of this subway cart, believe it or not.” You were coming off harsh, maybe too harsh to someone who claimed it was an accident.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t choose to ignore it… I- I shouldn’t have… I’ve just had a rough day so far. Um… Call it a lesson learned?” he stuttered, half smiling. He honestly seemed sorry about it but you couldn’t fully trust a complete stranger. Something about him did seem familiar though, like you’d seen him at an audition or perhaps on a billboard in Times Square.
“Sure,” you responded. You decided to pull out your phone to text your friend you were planning on meeting at the audition that you might be stuck in a subway for a little while. You removed your hand from the pole and reached into your bag but only felt your music binder and an accumulation of dance shoes. You felt around a little more and found it while the subway simultaneously lurched forward back in motion again. Helplessly, you fell towards the young man who caught you in his arms with ease. You looked up at him, feeling embarrassed and hypocritical while he, on the other hand, was trying to hide a bit of laughter.
“Sweet Jesus, I am so sorry,” you said to him, regaining your balance and latching your hand back onto the subway pole.
“Call it payback?” he suggested. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“I’m Vernon, by the way.”

Summary:
It’s 1899 after the infamous Newsboys’ Strike in which Newsies of New York City successfully negotiated fair prices of newspapers. Tensions have finally ceased between the higher ups of the newspaper company, The New York World, and the lower employees, the Newsies, who work for them selling newspapers all across the city. You’re the leader of a smaller newspaper printing company based in Gramercy selling newspapers for the Gramercy Gazette. You love your job there but since the big strike, smaller newspaper companies are combining with bigger ones like The New York World, and you fear you might have to change neighborhoods soon. Still, you continue to lead your group of newsies and do the best to protect them out on the streets of New York City.

This fic was a random idea that myself and one of my friends developed recently and I decided to take the reigns and try it out. As an avid theatre person and carat, I thought the combination of Seventeen as newsies would make for an interesting story. Like imagine Seventeen wearing newsie clothes and dancing in the streets. I would pay good money to see that. But instead of begging Pledis for something that's never going to happen, you can just pop open Tumblr and read my fic for free lmao. I have never done anything like this but I love writing and I love Seventeen of course so I will try to update the parts as soon as I can. I am going to start off with a couple of parts that get the story going and then it will split off into parts that ship the reader and the individual members. Also disclaimer: this is historically accurate as I can make it but I'm no history expert. It's just supposed to be for fun. I also apologize if there are mistakes or writing errors. Anyway, I hope you enjoy as much as I've enjoyed writing it!
