hi what do you think would've changed about the hero killer arc if uraraka (and gunhead too technically) had been in hosu instead of todoroki (and endeavor)?
Hello anon! Sorry it took a long time to answer this! I wanted to get this right!
Honestly, it could go a couple of ways, I believe.
I believe Ochako going against Stain will really force her to fight like she had never fought before and have her stay on her toes. Along with the natural fact there’s a sword swinging nut job, is the fact if he gets a speck of her blood, she would be out of commission for a good chunk of the fight. Because Stain’s quirk affects what blood type, with Type B being affected the longest.
And that is Ochako’s blood type.
Ochako could use large objects as weapons, like she did the pillar when she and Izuku went up against Iida and Bakugou, but with how crazy Stain’s agility is, he could evade any big attacks easy and get a strike at her. Learning Gunheads Martial Arts could probably help her a few times to evade, but going against someone who’s made himself a master of using those swords, he can still trump her in close combat, unless she gets a lucky hit and can make him lose his gravity. But that’s a big risk, and I doubt she would do it unless she *really* had no other choice.
Now, if Gunhead had appeared along side her, it could make the fight go a bit smoother possibly. Now that there was numbers on their side, it is more likely that Iida and Native could be rescued while Stain is being held off. Most likely, Ochako would be tasked getting the two to safety while Gunhead and Izuku fought Stain off, because of her quirk, she can carry them off quickly. And going off what Gunhead’s quirk does, he can be the distance fighter while Izuku primarily does close quarters, but Gunhead could also alternate if necessary.
Naturally, he runs the risk of getting knicked by Stain, but, like Midoriya, his blood type is O, so he won’t be affected as long. But it still time that he is disabled in a fight. And given Stain’s insistence that All Might is the “only hero worthy to kill him”, and he sees the rest of pro heroes as fakes, he could very well take the opportunity to try to do Gunhead in too.
There’s also a chance Stain would be so insistent on finishing Iida and Native off that instead of trying to simply fight Izuku and Gunhead, he hounds down Ochako just to kill them off, forcing her to be the one thing getting in between him and them.
It could also lead to some interesting dialogue between the two. Stain is so wrapped up in his vision of what a hero is supposed to be and thinks people need to be precisely like All Might, while Ochako has a more realistic take on the world is, and how that is wishing for something that’s never going to happen. She can go into how people can have their positives and negatives, and that while she understands the dangers of seeking revenge, Iida’s feelings are understandable and that doesn’t make him a false hero. It makes him human.
Stain can either write off everything she said, or her words can plant a small seed of change into him, and he can at least contemplate it. All depends.
Also, Ochako coming face to face and fighting Stain can have an effect on how she interacts with another certain, blade wielding psychopath, for better or for worse.
And lastly, I think this entire scenario would truly build the bond of the three even more, though sadly at the cost of Todoroki not being in this scenario and not sharing the moment with them.
