Anyone else chanting “I’m sorry” when Grumbot Prime said that “My Grian was sorry too”?
“My Grian was sorry too”
What does this mean? What does the was refer to?
Does this mean the Grumbot Prime’s Grian died?
Or does this mean that his Grian stopped being sorry and just repeatedly went against Grumbot’s wishes without remorse?
What if Mumbo sent Grumbot into the rift so that he could have a better life? Grumbot may just be mad that history is repeating itself and other Grian is making the same mistakes.
I find Grian and Grumbot’s relationship interesting because I feel like he does love Grumbot but just doesn’t know how to parent.
A few examples include:
- When Grumbot has his first existential crisis, Grian and Mumbo’s response is to put him in a box called “Grumbot’s World” for the rest of the season and lie and say that Mumbo is mayor.
- Grian forgetting about Grumbot’s autonomy and speaking for him. The next episode, he apologises once Grumbot expresses his anger
- Grian being perfectly fine with leaving him in Empires but also desperately trying to save him from the missile that Empires sent.
Thinking about Grumbot reminds me of NPC Grian and now I’m thinking that Grian is maybe trying to learn from his mistakes. The second example kind of supports this as Grian apologises from fear and not remorse.
