Gru wasn't the type to fall in love. He was never the romantic type of guy, and he never even had a girlfriend. That was until she came along.

The funny, giddy agent, that he had to work with... His first date with her went better than expected. For a second he actually thought, she was gonna cancel or say, that she found someone better. Now he was walking her home, not letting her walk by herself in the middle of the night. He never did this to other women. Lucy was different. He didn't know how, but he knew she was different from other women. Instead of being pushed away in the past by other women, Lucy accepted him with open arms.

A slight breeze came and caused the redhead to shiver. Gru noticed and took off his jacket and placed it around Lucy's shoulders. "Here," Gru said in his Russian accent. "Thanks, Gru. But, won't you get cold?" Lucy replied. That caused Gru to smirk. She actually cared about him. The smirk didn't last long. "Don't worry 'bout meh," Gru answered with a smile. Her apartment came close to view. Once they arrived Lucy returned Gru's jacket back. As a thank you, she kissed his cheek, leaving him standing like a statue. "Good night Gru," Lucy said before she entered her apartment. "Night, Lucy." He managed to stay.

With nothing more to say, he left her apartment complex, grinning like a love-struck teenager. He arrived at his house a few minutes later. Once he opened the door, his girls were asking him questions. "Vhat are yu girls doing up? Yu have school tomorrow." Gru asked. The girls completely ignored his question and kept asking their own questions. He soon got the girls to bed. It wasn't hard. He went to bed quickly after. He had the urge to text Lucy, but she might have been asleep. He set his phone on the nightstand while he changed into his PJs. The phone soon rang with a notification. He checked it out and it was a text from Lucy. He texted back and before he knew it, he was texting her for 3 straight hours.

The next morning when he woke up, Gru texted her. It was a quick text soon enough she texted back. He quickly took a shower and got dressed. He made the girls breakfast and then texted Lucy. Soon, the girls left for school and Gru left for work. Once he entered the AVL Headquarters he went straight to his office.

Work went by slow for him. It was boring and what's worst, is that he didn't see Lucy the whole day. It really tore him apart. Sure, it was only one date but, he was truly in love. He was sitting at his desk in his office thinking. His phone buzzed and it was Lucy. He quickly answered her text and soon they were texting none stop.

Work went by fast. It only felt like they were only texting for about 5 minutes. Sure, Ramsbottom was going to scold them but, he couldn't take their phones away from them.

He went home. His daughters were probably at home. After a few days his daughters got tired of him using his phone a lot. "Dad, you need to take a break from your phone. You're practically addicted." Maro stated. "I'm not addicted!" Gru said, defending himself. "Oh, really?" A voice said behind him. A voice he knew all to well. "L-Lucy? Vhat are yu doing here?" Gru asked in shock. "Well, Margo said her dad was having some problems and I guess she was right." Lucy smirked. Gru knew it was impossible to win a fight with Lucy and his girls. Then he got an idea, that caused him to smirk. "Fine, I am NOT addicted." Gru sighed. "Gru!" The girls yelled. He was not making this better. And that's all he wanted.
