Wanna know how an artist works out??

Why, they use their own hand as reference while standing at a tilted drawing board, of course!

That being said, have some studies I'm doing right now :]

(featuring both of my hands, har har)

(and my eyeball, I gave up on trying to find The Right Reference™)

...But seriously though, holding your arm out in front of you like that while trying to get a decent sketch down before you lose energy is a challenge and a half, I might even go as far as to say two :']

My arm started shaking around halfway through TT>TT

Here's the finished study, peeps! :D

I obviously had to include some sappy song lyrics, I'm a sappy bastard and I will impose this on any and every poor fool that happens upon this blog >:]

The song is "Don't You Dare (Make Me Fall in Love With You) by Kaden MacKay, for anyone who might want to know ^-^

My rambling about this thing is under the cut :]

I'm definetly not used to this realistic-ish art style since I tend to make my art a lot more stylized, but I think it turned out pretty well! The highlights definetly pulled everything together, and I feel like I got some decent depth in there :]

My precision could definetly be improved, and I could have made sure my pencil was a little more sharp when working on some more detailed areas, but I'm happy with the result nonetheless ^-^

One part that was especially challenging was the scar that divides my eyebrow, I struggled a bit with making it look blended in rather than just a clean cut, if that makes sense lol

The most satisfying part was definetly when I added in the eyelashes, that's definetly another thing that really pulled everything together hahaha

I don't know if anyone else can see it, but this looks like what fainting feels like to me, if that makes sense

It reminds me a lot of that really dizzy, static-y feeling, right before you lose your hearing and everything starts to sound like your ears are filled with water

(I don't know if it's the same for everyone, I assume there are some differences depending on the person and circumstances, but I imagine there are quite a few similarities as well)

It just has that shaky, weak feeling written all over it in my eyes, I'm not quite sure how to explain it lol

Here's a WIP I've got going on right now :]

(don't ask me what type of tree this is, it's straight out of my ✨brain✨ so I have no idea whatsoever lmao)

You could say that this is what my mind looks like, more or less, since that's where everything on the paper came from

I guess that means I've made a mind-map of sorts! ^-^

I'm not sure why I always gravitate towards twisty, twirly trees when I don't have a specific thing I want to sketch, maybe it's simply the stickbug-side of me feeling homesick lol

I plan on using water-based inks to colour this thing on the actual paper, but I'm definetly going to try a buuuuunch of different colour-palettes digitally first so that I don't make any decisions I'll regret lmao

My current idea is to use oranges and blues, and maybe some turquoise or olive green as an accent colour :]

The tree's crown kind of looks like it's made of clouds, which is a detail I didn't plan for, but am very happy with ^-^

Also here’s some drawing I did back in late December! I still love the fnaf movie drawing of spring Bonnie I did. Still one of my favorites!

Here’s my drawing of Thomas! Took quite a while…. But to be honest I’m not too proud of it. Might remake it in the future. What do you guys think?

Here’s Vincent Sinclair ( aka best boi ) from House of Wax! I finished it about two hours ago, but wanted to post after I finished my other drawing which is of Bo. I really hate how his hand / fingers turned out though….

And here’s Bo Sinclair! This one also took me 2 hours… I like how the eyes and eyebrows turned out, but god did I fail at drawing his lips…. I’m a failure 🫠… low key I’m between hating this drawing and mildly liking it… hopefully you guys like it!

After a week, I’m finally done with my drawing of Josh Hutcherson from the movie Burn (cause he’s hot as fuck in that movie). It’s been hectic being the end of junior year, so it took me longer than normal to finish a drawing. But I’m just happy it’s done even though it definitely could have been better. What do you guys think?
