Need a social “out of office” message after finishing Good Omens 2.

It would just be this image.

I was also wondering about this🤔

Ms. Cheng

Okay so this might be a bit out there, but there's something about this moment that I can't stop thinking about.

Ms. Cheng

Why do we have a particular moment of Ms. Cheng STOPPING and LOOKING WORRIED on her way into the bookshop? It feels like maybe she's noticing something. (s2e5 22:03)

This moment is giving me a similar feeling to another scene.

Ms. Cheng

^This is the moment when Gabriel's file plays "However, I am the only First-Order Archangel in the room, or, you know, the Universe..." and we get THIS shot of Crowley. It's quite an odd shot, but it's there FOR A REASON. It has to be. The shot could've remained as a wider shot, but it didn't. (s2e6 09:22)

Back to Ms. Cheng. We don't get a lot of information about her, nor do we see her very often on screen. She's a very minor character, that's for sure, but something about that moment seems so significant. Perhaps she's just very in tune with the metaphysical (re: angels/demons), or perhaps she's not who she seems to be at all. Could she be God? Or could she be some other kind of entity?

God doesn't narrate the second season. Perhaps there's more to that than just a simple change of delivery style. Perhaps God went down to Earth after Armageddidn't and has been living on Earth. Perhaps she was curious about this little planet? Perhaps she needed to get away from Heaven? Perhaps Metatron is up to more fuckery than the audience is aware of? We all know the Metatron is an ass and throws his weight around as the Voice of God (TM), but is he actually in touch with her? Does he actually communicate with her? Or is he staging or has he staged a hostile takeover?

Or, perhaps, Ms. Cheng is someone else entirely that's been keeping an eye on Aziraphale and Crowley? Who knows!

Good Omens 2x6 Spoilers!!!

When Aziraphale starts to get out his halo and his forehead starts glowing I actually thought for a microscopic moment that there was going to be a zip in his head and it turns out he was a Slitheen all the time, holy shit that would have been a twist. Please tell me I'm not the only one who had that thought

I enjoy Drama as much as the next bitch but I absolutely love that the amount of Fucks Given by these two stayed consistently between 'zero' and 'none' throughout the entire scene.

Exactly! I've never been so affected by a piece of media in my entire life! Like I am in physical pain, but that isn't a bad thing. It's a testament to the brilliant writing and the absolute masterclass in acting from Michael and David!

GOS2 SPOILERS I got something to say to some of yall lmao

if yall are actually Angry about the s2 finale then ur dumb fr😂😂 s2 was always a set up for s3 and sometimes ships don't immediately work out bc its a Story that is Progressing.

Gaiman still did a Big Thing by making these two characters who originally weren't intended to be romantic and he made those bitches canonically romantic! like I know, bare minimum, gay rep, blah blah blah, but I think there's something to be said that They Kissed. like REALLY KISSED!! and there's clearly a plan for it to be resolved in s3, clearly they both have strong feelings for each other, but sometimes, (SURPRISE), stories/shows have twists and turns and characters are complex and not black and white and they make stupid decisions and shit gets fucked up bc that's what tv shows do!!! if there were no problems what would be the point!!!

I personally think Az's choice was perfectly in character for him. he's in a toxic relationship with heaven/God herself!!! this is an opportunity he never thought he'd have and he probably will never get again, and I think he was blinded by his want for validation from Heaven and probably also a desire to prove that he is a Good Angel to the other angels that constantly talk down to him. He was so blinded by this power to restore Crowley and his own deep desire to Do Good by God, that it didn't even occur to him that this was not at all what Crowley wanted. I think it was a stupid ass decision, but I think Az has enough internal conflict with his position in Heaven and if he's Good Enough that it's believable. i really think Gaiman cares too much about this story to do them dirty just to ensure a s3, and if u see the characters as fully developed people with complex thoughts rather than existing only to make ur ship Canon, then it's just good writing.

SPOILERS!!!

AZIRAPHALE'S INVITATION TO CROWLEY IS DARCY'S FIRST PROPOSAL TO ELIZABETH. I REPEAT, Aziraphale asking Crowley to join him in heaven is Darcy's first proposal to Elizabeth. It's the wrong proposal at the wrong time and it's meant to break our hearts before the couple finally get it right.

The mid-point or 80% breakup scene is part of the typical romantic arc. It's part of every romance genre novel. Romance fans juoke about coping with the heartbreak of this point of the story because it's notiriously the one that's meant to get you sobbing. It's common to romance arcs within stories of other genres, too.

Good Omens has used the romance arc structure for Aziraphale and Crowley since season 1. That season was written to feel more complete, so of course it ended with them choosing to be together. It was a small cycle within what is now a bigger story. Crowley is the first one to make the wrong proposal there, asking Aziraphale to run away with him instead of trying to save Earth.

It makes sense to end the 2nd season with the breakup both because of the emotional punch and to encourage demand for a 3rd season.

This relationship has been treated, in terms of story structure, as a romance the entire time. This comes wiht the territory. This isn't fanfiction that's just about giving you the emotional feeling you want all the time. The breakup is there for a reason, and i'm probably going to write about it because I'm a story structure nerd and I think it was done really well here. (They can be notoriously bad when the breakup feels contrived or forced, not a natural result of conflicting feelings/needs).

We're even given a big clue with the Pride and Prejudice allusions. Jane Austen is a HUGE influence on modern romance stories and the references were explicitly called out by the characters in the show.

Like, they're just shouting at us that these two characters are being given a grand Jane Austen style romance! This isn't homophbia, people.

I’m seeing some clowns. Stop it

"Look At You, You're Gorgeous."

"Look at you, you're gorgeous."

I binged the whole second season and my hand slipped: this was meant to be a sketch and it got out of hand, so ignore the wonky things ;v

(warning for the future: I'll be probably sharing lots of good omens 2 fanart, so beware)
