NOTE: As someone who has raised goats, let me make one thing clear...:

GOATS DON"T EAT METAL!!!!!!

In fact, goats are rather picky eaters, as they will not eat food that has fallen on the ground. They also will not eat or drink anything that has been soiled (if there is even the slightest bit of grime or poo in it, they will NOT consume it.)

Now they will mouth objects to understand said object, much like how a baby will put objects in their mouth.
