Headcanon + little scenario: s/o who is scared of the dark, but pretends their not

He won't believe a word you're saying, seeing right through your lies. No matter how convincing you are

If you are outside, he'll try to make a fire or find some other light source if you really can't stand being in the dark anymore

Though, he'll tease you (I call it 'gently teasing' tho), suddenly grabbing your arm and doing some kind of 'boo' sound, pointing out how much you're shaking, sth like that

When you tell him to stop, he'll just chuckle and apologize. Doesn't mean he'll stop teasing tho, he'd only stop when he really makes you upset

He'll start to ignore you're words when you say how you're not scared of the dark, after some time

Will definitely offer you his hand, will probably try to get you to hold his hand if you refuse. Maybe by saying how scared he is himself or something

He'll find your pouty face absolutely endearing whenever you deny you're scared

He'll probably make up an excuse for everything he does to comfort you, so you can except it without having to say you're scared or you wanted him to do it

Your sweaty palm gripped tightly onto Xingqiu's as you walked through the woods, the darkness seeming to swallow you both. Not even the moon gave you a bit of its light reflection as it was new moon, the stars being the only thing visible to you.

"You don't have to be scared, my love.", the blue-haired said, his tone being the same as always and his gaze not leaving the path that laid before you. "I-I'm not scared-! What makes you think that?", you looked to the side to try and make it more difficult for your lover to read your face, even though he didn't need to in order to know you were lying.

Xingqiu chuckled, it was a warm chuckle that made you feel a bit safer for just a moment, like it always did. He turned his head to look at you and laid a hand on his chest, right over his heart, "As long as I am here with you, nothing shall happen to you. Nothing shall threaten you in any type of way."

You glanced at him, seeing a confident and yet teasing smile on his face. A slight blush made its way onto your cheeks and you pouted slightly. "Don't need you to protect me. I ain't afraid of anything...", you muttered under your breath, but still loud enough for your partner to hear.

His smile only grew wider a bit as it became silent between you two. You, however, were too focused on trying to make out silhuettes and calm your heart that was almost beating at the speed of light, to notice how the blue-haired started to plot something in his head.

As a chilly night breeze drifted by, made your hair fly and made you shiver slightly, is when he put his plan into action. Xingqiu put his free hand on your shoulder, "Boo." You jumped and smacked his hand away after letting out a short scream, sending your lover a glare. "Xingqiu!", you yelled, "Whyyyyyy??"

He chuckled once again, "I'm sorry, love. It was impossible for me to not use this opportunity." You just pouted and clung on his arm.
