Does anyone else think about how, in most -if not all- of the existing Zelda games, Ganon's return was predated by a patriarch ruling Hyrule. Zelda's father. However, we can assume that Hyrule is primarily ruled by a monarch because of the religious beliefs that say that the female heirs are the incarnation of the Goddess Hylia.

Therefore, men are the cause of the rise of Gannon.

I like to imagine Ganondorf (totk) had learned from Calamity Gannon (botw) when he possessed the weapons that they were going to use to overtake Hyrule (like the divine beasts and guardians) and that's what he was trying to do by throwing gloom at Link in the beginning of Tears of the Kingdom, but it ended up failing and only killing off his arm so he remains unpossessed for the rest of the game... But it was still a good attempt because link would be the ultimate weapon to use against Hyrule... he saw the opportunity and failed to achieve it... Good effort Gannondorf
