Beauceron, a French smooth-haired shepherd dog (fr. berger de Beauce).
The first mention of a shepherd dog from the province of Bos dates back to 1578, and the full description of the breed is from 1809. When you watch old French movies, you are very likely to meet beauceron.
These are also called "Bas Rouge", that is "red-stockings" because of the color of their tan, which should have a rich reddish hue.
In the photo, my friend and family member, his name was Hercules.❤️🌿
