"rank the doctors" based on what!? which one is my favourite? which one i think is objectively the best? which one is most fuckable? which one has the nicest voice? best costume? best actor? best writing?
I love the scene where the Third Doctor regenerates into the Fourth.
The Third Doctor and Sarah Jane didn't really get along at first. The Doctor was actually exiled to Earth as punishment, which is why he almost hated the planet. Adventures with Sarah Jane, the Brigadier, and some other companions helped him to love it.
The way Sarah Jane and the Brigadier are relatively calm at the beginning, the girl's fear when the Doctor falls out of the TARDIS. You can see that he's crying during his last conversation with Sarah Jane. He knows that for him as the Doctor, this isn't goodbye, but this regeneration will miss them. And Sarah believed for a moment that the alien was really dead. As much as I praise the interaction between Four and Sarah, this Doctor has become something of a companion, mentor and friend to her. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to master the entire old school one day.

So this is my first fanfiction about the fourth doctor so I really hope he is not too much out of character.
Also sorry for the wait, I was just never truly convinced with any idea and I know it is not long but I still hope you like it.

It was night at the Tardis, a peaceful and silent night somewhere in the universe far away from earth and honestly quirt far away from any planet at all. The doctor had set the Tardis drifting since Sarah Jane had insisted that you all needed a break and even with you had not said it out loud. You were more than thankful for this break. Yet, who would blame you. You almost died a few hours ago. Travelling with the doctor all through the universe is risky and you knew that. Of course you knew, still you loved to travel with him and Sarah Jane. Yes, you knew and danger was not something new for you, but today had been different. You had been sure to die. There had been no hope no back up plan, no doctor. You had been so far off, way too far away from him and you were holding on to a cliff, feeling your hands weaken. You tried to get back up, but it had been no use. You had been able to do had been to hold on and hope for help. Your hands had hurt horrible but the feeling after the pain had been far worse. There had been no feelings in your hands, they just went numb and in that moment you had known, you were about to die and there had been no way out. Not a single glimpse of hope. You felt yourself letting go against your own will and closed your eyes. Living through that moment again as a scream escaped your lips, when suddenly there was a hand on your wrist, the next moment you felt yourself being pulled up and engulfed in two arms and a warm chest. You opened your eyes and just like a few hours ago the doctor was looking at you worried. You did not know how he had managed to get to you in time, but he had saved you. Now he was looking at you again with the same concerned eyes, after he had released you from your nightmare. His right hand found yours while he left was gently stroking your hair. His voice gently hushing you, while you tried to calm down: “Calm down you are okay” he took of his scarf wrapping it around you while smiling at you kindly.“ I got you” He gently guided you back on the mattress pulling the covers over you again: “You should get some sleep, the day had been quiet…eventful…” you lightly laughed at that. Eventful was one way to put it. You expected him to leave but his hand did not leave yours and he did not stop stroking your hair for a moment. It calmed you that he wanted to stay. You felt save with him. Always had. He had saved you in so many ways already and did manage that little miracle again and again. You began to get tired and the steady rhythm of his hand stroking your hair was slowly but surely lulling you in “Thank-you for saving me” you whispered. He smiled back and nodded, which made is locks fall over his eyes a bit “always”
