I really loved reading this!! Borrower Chase is so fun!! 😁

Little joke below the cut because it has minor spoilers:

If I had a nickel for every time Jacob caught a tiny person because the tiny person got tangled up in something, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice! 🀣

(Phineas and Ferb reference)

Almost a Thief

The prompt of the day is Thief and honestly, that's suitable enough to do a follow up to an earlier prompt. So we're back with Borrower Chase, taking place directly after the end of Orange You Glad

Forbidden Fruit SnacksΒ |Β Fried PotatoesΒ |Β Minnie’s Supply RunΒ |Β Nailed It | Orange You Glad

~~~
Things weren’t great.
Chase was stuck in a red plastic mesh bag with a bunch of oranges that outweighed him. The opening that he’d worked so hard to make was several inches away, obscured by some of said oranges. He didn’t have his bag, or any kinds of tools to cut through the plastic. Normally, these were surmountable problems, given enough time and energy.
If there wasn’t a human standing in the kitchen doorway, focus inevitably drawn to Chase’s movement in the bag, Chase would be fine. Instead, he sat and stared up at the young man and inwardly kicked himself with a litany of self-flagellating curses.
I’m an idiot I’m an idiot I’m a stupid goddamn idiot dumbassβ€’
His thoughts ground to a halt when the human finally moved, one large hand lifting from his side to rub at his eyes. If Chase had anywhere at all to hide, he would have taken the opportunity to duck out of sight. Instead, he awkwardly started to crawl towards the opening of the bag, shouldering against one of the fallen oranges. It moved a bit, only to bump up against more of them and generally be a nuisance and an obstacle. One of them had fallen right into the opening he’d left, but if he could just get past that he’d … be out on the counter and still very much in trouble.
Not that he had a chance. The human finished his attempt to brush the hallucination away. Seeing that Chase had moved, he took a step into the room. β€œHey!”
He didn’t shout. He didn’t really need to. His voice was deep, powerful, easily louder than any sound Chase could manage. He stood over six feet tall for sure, built broad like he had a cliff somewhere in his ancestry. Chase froze as a large shadow crept over the counter and engulfed the produce bag.
Chase shuddered in spite of his usual attempts to stay optimistic. There was not much he could say about this one; after a series of close calls, he’d run out of luck. He was a thief, caught in the act.
He looked up, some kind of excuse on his lips. But though he opened his mouth to try to talk himself out of his predicament, only a faint squeak came out. The guy was just ridiculously, unfairly big even for a human. Even if Chase was at an equal scale, he’d be more than a head shorter than this guy.
A hand appeared in Chase’s periphery. He’d seen these hands plenty of times, once or twice coming dangerously close to his hiding place. Even the smallest finger outclassed him. Chase hadn’t worried about the human’s hands so much before; before, the guy didn’t know he was there.
Now, the human wouldn’t take his eyes off where Chase was trapped while he reached for the bag, and Chase couldn’t take his eyes off that hand. When it reached the opening of the bag, he drew in a rattling gasp and balked away. The hand didn’t dive into the bag after him, instead brushing at the edge of the mesh where Chase had worked it open over the course of what must have been an hour.
β€œHuh. You really almost got away with one of these, didn’t ya,” the guy muttered. He nudged at one of the oranges, the one Chase probably would have rolled into the walls if he’d had just ten more minutes to work with the stupid bag of produce. Now it was just another barrier between Chase and freedom.
Looking back up at the guy, Chase debated on whether he should answer. The smart answer was no, absolutely not. He should not let on that the guy could potentially coax answers out of him. At the same time, there were a thousand and one cheeky responses he could offer to that expectant look.
He landed somewhere in between both options, holding both hands up in an exasperated shrug. He sure did almost get away with one of the stupid oranges. And now that he had failed that, his fate was in a human’s hands.
As if the thought had prompted it, the human tried to reach into the opening of the bag. Chase choked on a noise of surprise to see those huge fingers pushing aside fruit in an aim to get to him. As he scrambled away from the opening, the hand just kept coming. It didn’t exactly fit in the opening, but the mesh simply crumpled before it, shrinking Chase’s available space as it did.
Eventually, he found himself pressed against a pile of giant oranges, his heels uselessly digging into the countertop, when that enormous hand reached him. It was an awkward squeeze for the human, but it didn’t stop him. Giant fingers and a thumb flanked Chase on either side and he thought his heart would come bursting right out of his chest. He slapped at the huge palm before him, panicked moments that probably felt like barely more than a flutter of movement. A couple fingers managed to snake behind him, dragging him forward.
He switched his strategy, grabbing at the mesh as it passed him by. His grip was nothing compared to the inexorable push of a giant hand, and though he wasn’t being moved quickly he found the mesh ripped from his grasp as he moved.
He was almost at the opening. Then there was nothing at all between him and the ridiculously giant man he and his sister had been basically stealing from since he moved into the apartment. Chase’s nerves ran wild and his heart pounded.
As soon as he was out in the open, he lost his nerve at last. β€œOkay okay okay! You got me! Good job, man!”
The hand, only partially wrapped around him, stopped without lifting him off the counter. The human looked shocked. β€œDude … what?”
β€œYeah, y-yeah,” Chase said, shifting subtly where he half-lay against a couple giant fingertips. β€œI’m a real hooligan, a rascal, I’ve heard said. I was definitely planning to steal one of these oranges. But y’see, I didn’t, so what if we just forget this ever happened and move on with our lives!”
Rather than give the man time to ponder his rambled words, Chase sprang into action. He and Minnie had grown up often having to sprint for cover, having to leap over and around strange obstacles.
Chase took advantage of the human’s momentary bewilderment. The hand had yet to close fully around him. Once he slipped down an inch and rolled away from it, it missed its chance. He hit the counter sprinting.
He could cover a decent amount of ground in a few seconds. Chase was proud of the work he and Minnie had done to build up their stamina for runs like this. Granted, they’d never practiced with a human actively trying to catch them, but if Chase could pull this off, they wouldn’t need a repeat. He’d take notes and they’d never revisit them if he had his way.
The human blurted something in surprise, startled by his sudden scurry. His other hand loomed in close. Chase dove forward in time with his heart doing a flip, rolling with the impact while the side of a hand barely brushed the back of his shirt.
β€œOh, that was SO cool,” he shouted as he righted himself and pushed to his feet. He was definitely going to have to brag about that oneβ€’
Three steps later, something yanked at the back of his jacket. β€œOh sh‒” was all he managed to say before he was hauled off his feet and all his forward momentum came to a stop. He kicked his legs and tried to twist free of the sturdy canvas jacket, but a broad palm appeared beneath him and he stopped; he did not want to fall into that grasp.
The human only held him a few inches off the countertop, but both of them paused then, Chase breathing heavily and staring up at the man with a mix of fear and disappointment and the man staring back with open astonishment.
β€œWhat,” the human said, pausing to take a slow breath and shake his head, β€œthe hell.”
Hii Atsuha, how did you and Junpei first meet? Was it on a mission? Also can you tell us the story behind Junpei eating Yahito’s hand? When and why did that happen??
Well... it is indeed a long story. Or maybe two stories...
I'll tell the first one here.
When I came to Japan, I was decided to be a jujutsu sorcerer. But it's not like there's an agency for that sort of job, not that I know of at least.
So after tracking some rumours, I came around this urban legend on Satozakura High School: a legend about a boy who cursed a bunch of students and then died.
Hii Atsuha, How Did You And Junpei First Meet? Was It On A Mission? Also Can You Tell Us The Story Behind
Don't get me wrong, I didn't just came up and invaded the place; in fact, I FELT something. Something akin to what I witnessed in childhood and later on in college.
Someone was there... among the students and staff, unseen.
And that someone was Junpei.
And that's where I found him. Or better saying, where he pulled me and Yuuji-sensei in when we were hunting the 'giant crocodile'.
Oh yeah, I forgot to explain that, sorry. Basically, I was visiting the school with a job hunting excuse, and then there was an accident revolving a student throwing himself off the window. Gladly it wasn't that high, so he just got some bruises. I took that cue to explore the hallways, and later on... a curtain fell around the place.
Yuuji-sensei arrived just as I found the 'giant crocodile'; he tried to get me out of there, but once I showed him my ofuda ability and quick thinking, he agreed to let me help.
So, back to the AV room... There was shock, and some tears as well, when the two of them reunited. Junpei told us his side of the story, and while Yuuji-sensei felt a bit of regret for not coming back to Satozakura earlier, I put the pieces together and realized/theorized that since both Junpei and the crocodile were the same soul, exorcizing one or the other wouldn't help; the negative energy was concentrated and somewhat melded in the very precinct, and would eventually respawn either one of them, though with less consciousness if Junpei's soul was gone.
Maybe it was a stretch, but Yuuji-sensei noticed that I did NOT aimed for an immediate exorcism, that I wanted to help that lost boy find peace. And the way to start... was to join him with his lost side.
Thanks to Yuuji-sensei, we were able to reach out to and calm down the giant crocodile; that is, once we trapped him. Once Junpei took him back, I offered to make a Binding Vow to get him out of the building, to remove him from that melding source of negative energy and allow him to leave the precinct.
not judging you or anything, but why did you fell for ijichi?
I think the question should be why WOULDN'T I fall for him.
He's a beautiful, intelligent, hard-working man, with a stable job, vast knowledge of jujutsu, and most importantly, he's a good, caring person.
Not Judging You Or Anything, But Why Did You Fell For Ijichi?
When I first met him, I did find him cute. But as the weeks passed and I adjusted to Jujutsu High, during the few times I encountered him, including the car rides, I found myself thinking of him more and more.
One day then, I stumbled upon him in the hallways and helped him up (I swear, it felt like one of those shoujo stories), and also picked up the papers he dropped. I followed him to the meeting place, holding half of that heavy pile, and we talked for a bit; when we entered the room and placed the papers down... he thanked me and smiled.
When I saw that smile... i know it wasn't just courtesy. He was thankful. Relieved. And a bit surprised even.
Lizards and Pumpkins
AU Young Leto Atreides x fem reader
Summary: A ball is being held in the hopes that Leto Atreides will find an eligible maiden to marry as he is expected to become the next Duke of Caladan.
*This storyline will be similar to Disney’s Live Action Cinderella (2015). There the dress you will be wearing is like that one.
Author's note: This is my first fanfic ever. Therefore, please be kind about any feedback you all may have. Other than that, enjoy and let’s see where it goes from here.
Lizards And Pumpkins
Lizards And Pumpkins
When you get to the bottom of the steps, you notice the man from the forest you met a while back walking towards you. However, you had know idea he was the Leto Atreides of Caladan. You had been told that he was an apprentice in training but you had no idea you were speaking to the next Duke in line.
At this moment, you two are face to face with each other.
β€œIt's you, isn't it?” Leto asks.
β€œJust so. Your grace…”, you respond and curtsy to him.
β€œIf I may... that is... it would give me the greatest pleasure, if you would do me the honor of letting me lead you through this... the first…”, Leto struggles to say what’s on his mind due to being in a daze by your beauty.
β€œDance?” You ask, smiling sweetly at him.
β€œYes, dance. That's it.” He finally gets out.
While you and Leto start dancing, you notice the people surrounding you both.
You whisper to him, β€œThey're all looking at you.”
At that statement, Leto smiles and says, β€œBelieve me, they're all looking at you.”
Leto pushes you gently on the swing in the secluded garden he shows you as you both carry on having meaningful chats.
A clink is heard, and you realize your slipper is off your foot. Upon noticing this, Leto stops pressing you, gets on her knees, and places the slipper on your foot.
Lizards And Pumpkins
With awe, he asks, "It's made of glass?"
"Why not?" you ask him, grinning.
Then, as though he wants to kiss you, he leans in close. "Will you please tell me your true identity?"
After giving it some thought, you say, "If I do, I think everything might be different."
Leto says, "I don't understand," with a perplexed expression. β€œAt least, could you tell me your name?”
Just as you prepare to inform Leto, the clock chimes 11:59. That's when you recall what the fairy godmother said. You say as you turn to face Leto. "I must go now. It is difficult to describe. Pumpkins, lizards, and other things. You tell him you'll never forget it and thank him again for a fantastic night.
Leto murmurs, "Lizards and Pumpkins," as he watches you dash out of the garden. With a smile, he chooses to follow you.
One of your glass slippers slips on the palace steps as you walk to your carriage. Even if at first you want to pick up, you change your mind as you notice Leto approach you and climb inside the carriage.
Lizards And Pumpkins
When the carriage pulls out of the palace, you see Leto stoop to retrieve your slipper. You grin as you recall the amazing evening you spent with Leto. Despite your feeling that this is the final time you will ever see him.
Lizards And Pumpkins
You have no idea that Leto is planning to locate you. In one kind or another.
I’ve read quite a few stories where the Justice League finds out about Batman’s kids by some random event.
Now, it is my turn to add to this.
Batman has gone β€˜missing’ and the JL needs to find out what happened. (He’s just sick)
So they head to Gotham, currently under watch of Robin (Jason Todd) and Nightwing.
So the JL is going around Gotham, searching for Batman when Robin catches Green Lantern and pulls him to a roof top.
β€œGet out of Gotham.”
GL is like β€˜who tf is this?’ When Robin is surround by the JL, and shocked but plays it cool bc yknow pride.
GL uses his ring to hand a robin upside down, Robin uses colorful language to express his displeasure.
Everyone is like, shocked but start to ask where Batman is. Robin ain’t a snitch so he doesn’t spill. Wonder Woman uses the Lasso of Truth but still, he’s just, focusing on other things so he rambled about his school.
Nightwing pops up and is like, hey could Robin down. Batman is sick.
JL doesn’t believe them until Nightwing calls Batman to explain.
So, JL leaves and is like, Batman has kids, what do you know
