The fact that this could happen anywhere is terrifying. I'm torn in this situation, yes it happens to often with police brutality. but the riots have to end. what good is coming from this. you're burning down an innocent business, injuring reporters and causing just massive heart ache to the people of Ferguson. it's only adding to the pain already there from a lost member of the community. but I'm not one to speak with out saying i am one who would go for violence, not as far to burn and loot though. I'm going to end with my heart goes out to the family. as well to the community of Ferguson you have a long night ahead of you guys. stay strong
On August 9, 2014, Brown, an unarmed black 18-year old, was shot and killed by Wilson, who is white. The shooting led to demonstrations, confrontations with police, and some looting and violence.
Dystopia Now
All these stories and movies about a dystopian future, but for some of us it has always felt like a dystopian present.
I just wanted to say, I actually watched his interview (it was on the news and my parents wanted to see it), and I think I remember both sides of his face being red and blotchy. (You'll have to check me on that I may be wrong). So it's possible that he was just nervous because he was finally sharing his side of the story. Or, he was nervous because he was spewing lies and was worried everyone would see through his bullshit. That's for you to decide
Is there a quality control check on the kind of training police receive in the US? We the tax paying people have the authority to put down the rabid dogs down and send the rest to a different obedience school.. erm.. police academy. Or no? That isn't the way it works any more? And no one sent out the memo?

As a reward for murdering an unarmed black child, Wilson was given more than eleven years salary in addition to his normal pay, and over $430,000 of it was funneled through a charity and therefore tax-free.

US government sues Ferguson over police reform.
The US Justice Department is suing Ferguson, Missouri to force the city to adopt police reforms negotiated with the federal government.
Unarmed black teenager Michael Brown was shot dead by a police officer in the city in 2014, sparking protests. Ferguson was required to reform its policing after investigators found widespread racial bias in the force.
US Attorney General Loretta Lynch said there was no option but to sue after the city voted to revise the agreement.

People in Ferguson used the Mockingjay slogan
Some white people do not want Mockingjay to be compared to Ferguson. Why? Is it because, maybe, the novel is about white people? Is it hard to see that white people fiction is black people’s current reality?

The thing that i've noticed about ferguson is how similar it is to the london riots a few years ago. A black teenager is shot by a policeman, people riot. A black teenager is shot by a policeman, people riot. Things don’t change do they?
