Fandom Hate - Tumblr Posts
When I say I hate the 911 fandom, things like this are what I mean. These came onto my dash within 3 posts of each other and were the first 911 posts I saw when I logged on.
I could have gone my whole life without knowing that apparently a large portion of the fandom hates Mabel Pines. And god I wish I did.
But that's fandom misogyny for you.
Any way it's lookign like a Gravity Falls' Fall so sign me up!
I agree with this so much. This “defining themselves by what they love” also explains these ugly divides in fandom. Some fans see their favourite character as a friend or a family member whom they have to defend against all criticisms, even by other characters.
Which leads to “Team A” vs. “Team B” mentality and to character bashing. Which always makes me sad, because I don’t wanna be on a team; I’d much rather be part of a community. We should all be able to enjoy what we love, together.
Especially in these bleak times we need empathy and compassion and not more walls to keep us apart. I genuinely love the MCU fandom but I wish that Civil War had not made us less civil toward one another.
In the words of the wise king T’Challa “we must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.”
