Head Cannon Bc I Can - What Kinds Affectionate The Different Assassins Would Be - Part 1

Ezio Auditore da Firenze - The Lover of Love. Family man very affectionate/grew up in a loving closely knit family/family oriented/notices little things/sweetheart with a side of spice/he reminds me of the hot tamale candy lol spicy AND sweet at the same time bc he can be a cinnamon roll one second and then become the oven that you PUT the cinnamon roll IN. He seems like he would play the lute for you the few chords that he learned when he was younger that is, and he MIGHT sing but don't count on it haha. Man wrote some real nice letters when he was older so I bet he would try his hand at love letters no matter which Ezio you prefer, and they would be sweet. Loves to give hand kisses whether they be sweet or steamy. Often comes up behind you and wraps his arms around you in a hug, and imo LOVES it when you rake your fingers through his hair gently scratching his scalp. Would instantly be down bad for someone who cooks Italian food for him because it makes him feel loved and cared for.

Bayek of Siwa - The Kind Lover. Proud affection/"look at how awesome my partner is I worship the ground they walk on"/offers an arm for escort/is not afraid to hold your hand/great at letting people know where they stand and setting boundaries so no one will be confused about who he has feelings for. Very attentive and notices the little things/can kick ass and then some but is so gentle and sweet with the one he loves (no one touches a hair on their head or disturbs the air around them or so help him Anubis...) /great at communicating and is not afraid to talk about feelings. Have a feeling that he enjoys fresh baked bread and anything sweet he can get his hands on, and also loves to share them with his love. NO ONE can tell me that he doesn't take good care of the person he loves because man is a sweetheart protector and dang good provider. Forehead kisses are a big thing with him, where he gently cradles your head to do so, and lots of eye contact when he tells you that he loves you.

Edward Kenway - The Cheeky Pirate. sexual tension/handsy and cheeky but will stop if you're uncomfy/he knows when to behave/won't hesitate to smooch you to the ninth realm and back if someone looks at you like they want you/ have a feeling that he is BIG TIME into holding his partner in front of him at the wheel and steering the Jackdaw (letting them drive but not really)/spoils his loved one rotten any chance he gets (even if it is stolen lol)/will probably make you his co-co-captain alongside Adewale.

Head Cannon Bc I Can - What Kinds Affectionate The Different Assassins Would Be - Part 1

Ratonhnhake:ton/Connor Kenway- The Respectful Lover. Not really one for PDA but you'll know that you're loved by him/does gush about you to people from his tribe and everyone at the Homestead knows he's DOWN BAAADD (the tribe elders have predicted a wedding date lol bc they know that he'll marry you. Definitely teaches self-defense and fall in love 5,000 times harder if they made an attempt to learn Kanien'keha/if they love animals and nature, he again will worship the air they breathe. If you cook for him especially recipes from his tribe, he'll probably get emotional because they remind him of home, and he would be head over heels in love with someone who was open to learning about where he comes from and the ways of his people. If you defend him when someone is rude to him (despite being well able to defend himself as we all know) he will feel protected and loved, which he's rarely felt in his life since his mother.

Jacob Ethan Frye - The Sweetheart. Makes his partner feel valued ESPECIALLY as a woman because he's not a typical 19th century man who's all "women's place is in the home having babies and cooking and cleaning". He WILL LISTEN TO YOU and also put great faith in your opinion/cheeky and very flirtatious/can get flustered if partner matches his energy though lol/ something tells me this man LOVES and is WHIPPED for domesticity he's had a crazy, dangerous life with too many near death experiences to count at only 21 years old and while he would still be the chaotic cinnamon roll you fell in love with the Rooks and fight club and all he would love to come home to peace and calmness. If you cook/bake for him he will literally turn into a bottomless pit he LOVES IT though it will sometimes start sibling squabbles between him and his older sister because she loves your cooking too haha. Also teaches self-defense but will get flirty with you real quick so it's probably best to learn from Evie lol. VERY genuine and he means every loving word he says and every touch he gives. Protective of you and will throw hands if someone disrespects you. He also loves to make you laugh and tell.me.WHY I am so dang sure that he LOVES it when you play with his hair especially if you scratch your fingers lightly against his jaw and the scratchy whiskers he has there.

Desmond Miles - The Lonely One. Proud as well/total gentleman with sexy swagger lol/loves to take you out on his motorcycle/loves it when you come visit him at work because he'll be doing his job and look over to see you which makes him instantly happy/TOTALLY shows off his bartending skills and winks at you while doing it being a total flirt/ love language without a doubt is quality time and physical touch. Man is VERY affectionate imo because he's touched starved and most likely lonely (even with the Animus he still wants you because you comfort him). If you defend him from Shaun when he's being annoying or pushing him too much or clap back at the male half of his DNA, he will literally love you forever. Man is FERAL for a significant other that will defend him and care for him the way he wasn't all those years alone.

Head Cannon Bc I Can - What Kinds Affectionate The Different Assassins Would Be - Part 1

Altair Ibn La'Ahad - The Reserved Soldier...who's Smitten. Doesn't do PDA most that might happen is an arm offered for an escort or a hand on the waist to push you behind him/will kiss you on the cheek before he goes off on missions the same way he does the rest of the members of the Brotherhood (even if you're not part of it) while saying to you in Arabic "Safety and Peace my darling". Shows affection by smirking at you when you're flustered and acting as your intimidating AF bodyguard/in private tho...he's very amorous and loves having physical contact with his partner. Totally the type to lie there and rest with them or lazily kiss and hug. Not averse to showing that he loves you in public or declaring his love because he does love you very much, he just wants to protect your honor and avoid anyone (read: MALIK) heckling/harassing the both of you about being lovers. You are for his eyes and his eyes only whether it be hand holding, kissing, or various other things that he often thinks about...

Head Cannon Bc I Can - What Kinds Affectionate The Different Assassins Would Be - Part 1

Arno Victor Dorian - The Hopeless Romantic. Very affectionate also from being lonely and touch starved/not afraid to show his love for you in public. He DEFINITELY writes you love letters that are just - SIGH. He has a way with words and just pours everything into the letters he writes you, what he loves about you and why, how much you mean to him, how he would do anything for you. He's a hopeless romantic and when he falls in love he falls HARD and gives the one he loves everything (cue traumatic flashbacks of a certain ex-now deceased red haired lover of his). I think he would be SO in love with someone who noticed the little things about him and took care of those things. If he's sleep deprived? You let him sleep in and fix him breakfast in bed. If he's lonely while working? You sit with him wherever he is and read/ write/look out the window and watch Paris silently comforting him with just your presence. If he forgets to eat? You fixing him something delicious to eat and bringing it to him giving him a kiss and words of encouragement. Bringing him tea/water/coffee/hot chocolate while he's working. Would definitely spoil you with treats from the Cafe and if you work there, he'll drop by every so often to give you a sweet quick kiss. I think he would also show affection by helping you get ready in the morning and take this the way you wish...but he's really good with corset laces, buttons, and layers upon layers of fabric. He's thoughtful and sweet taking time to think about you (even though he barely thinks about himself). Will legit protect you with his life he refuses to lose you and will do anything to keep you safe. He loves to have slow relaxing days with you to have a moment away from his normally stressful life. You pulling him away from his work for distraction or holding him when the Council annoys him is always welcome. You will definitely know that he loves you with everything that he has.

Yandere Assassin's Creed Head Cannons (……bc I can)

AN: The AC characters are different levels of Yandere depending on where they’re at in their journey. (Except Evie lol. She seems pretty tame to me, very passionate, but not as crazy as the male yandere's)

Think that Altair would be a crazier Yandere when younger but when he gets older, he calms down, due to gaining more confidence in the relationship (and gaining control of the Apple). As a young man he would be paranoid of his darling being hurt as a result of all the enemies that he has and keep her close or well protected at all times. Then when he's older he trusts her not to leave him and also how to stay safe, plus he's honed his skills for all of those years at that point and even has the Apple at his command to use how he so chooses...

Advice: Don't run from him. She shouldn't even try it because it's like this man knows her every move before, she makes it! He doesn't trust easy, and even though he loves her with everything he has, Altair does not trust easy. He would expect her to run, and he would also expect her to try and fool him into letting his guard down ⚔️ so she could escape as well.

Altair would be an easy Yandere to fall in love with imo. He would reign in the crazy (he would show it from time to time but nothing too much & he would never scare her 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♂️) and just try to be kind and sweet. He would have a hard time at first with this as he's not very in touch with his emotions at the beginning, but his charm and sweetness would win her over in the end. Over the years he would show more and more emotion, and eventually when he begins to trust her, he's just- SO SWEEEETTT 🥹😭🥹. (Possessive - it's cute tho - and he'll kill anyone who touches you, disrespects you, or tries to harm you...but so sweet)

Ezio would be the OPPOSITE of Altair. He would be more laid back in his younger days but get clingy, possessive and paranoid about his darling's safety when he got older. After everything that he's lost in his life and all of the death he's seen, he becomes overcome with terror at the thought of losing her because he loves her so much. 💗💗💗

Like Altair he falls in love hard, but unlike Altair, Ezio would (just a little bit) be a bit easier to fool because he would love and trust his darling so much. So, escaping him would be a bit easier, but he will find her lol he ain't gonna stop until he literally drops. He will have her, or he will have death! 💀 😂

Think he would be the kind of passionate Yandere where it makes her pull away because it's too much at first, but he keeps pursuing her and eventually she's wooed by him. However, if we wanna make it more dramatic and juicy...she could rebuff his advances, and he would pursue her from afar, slowing but surely worming his way into her life.

Have a head cannon of his love running from him lol. How would he react? How would he pursue her? How long would she be able to stay out of his grasp? Don't believe for a second that he would ever get violent or use force. But a tight bear hug, with sickly sweet words, as he picks her up his hold never once loosening, as he takes her back to the home, he's made for her? YES. This man is tall and built like an Italian gondola (those things are hard to sink & they don't take damage easy either trust me) so he can be physically intimidating and wrangle her with no problem.

Could totally see Evie as a Yandere falling in love from afar and being aware of what she's feeling but choosing to keep it lowkey instead of pursuing it. She's aware that some Assassins have found their soulmate through these... feelings she's experiencing, but she's also aware of the darker nature of these feelings.

Passionate and shy at first Yandere. She just ADORES her love and thinks the world of her. She'll be very respectful and is quite the romantic, when she first starts courting her darling. The flame never goes out with her, no matter how much time the two spend in each other's company or how many years they're together. She's quite shy at first due to never having expected her darling to be female, so she's not quite sure how to navigate a romance with another woman. But she's a quick learner...😏😏😏

Personally head cannon Evie having a female darling. It just...fits. A Victorian London romance between her and her darling? HEAR ME OUT...but the idea of a historically accurate and forbidden romance? Just SENDS me, okay? Plus, Evie is already an assassin so you know that woman can be sneaky and discreet.

Imagine that one day she just so happens to be near where her darling is (read: she stalked them from afar bc she doesn't want to scare them) and she sees her down the street. They both stop: Evie in terror because her love is LOOKING.AT.HER, and her love in curiosity before smiling at her. They look at each other for a moment before her love nods at her and turns to go into the store she was headed for. The elder Frye swears that her heart is going to beat out of her chest from excitement and nerves.

Imagine: Revelations Ezio falling in love with a young scholar and apprentice of Leonardo Da Vinci - Part 1

She had moved from England to Florence be with her mother’s side of the family, seeing as the Italian city was more open to women pursuing her interests.

Before that she had been in France and there, she met Leonardo Da Vinci. She began working with him and they got along wonderfully, when Leo heard about her plans to move to Florence, he entrusted the care of several of his artworks to her so they could be transported back to his hometown. To his original studio where she’ll run it for him and take in fellow artists.

They write back and forth for several years before the events of Revelations and the young woman convinces Da Vinci to share his work with all those he can. By opening up studios in well to do cities besides Florence and Paris. Such as Constantinople and Rome.

Da Vinci is impressed by her commitment, so he agrees to it. She goes to Constantinople and one of her trusted fellow artists takes over the one in Florence.

When she arrives in Constantinople, she’s nervous because she does not speak the language, but excited to get started. She gets lost on her way to the studio and while she doesn’t mind bc the city is beautiful; she realizes that she needs help.

Before she can ask for help a certain well known and beloved Turkish assassin sees her and offers his help. You guessed it! Yusuf Tazim. He escorts her to the studio, and they chat about pretty much anything and everything bc she was far off, and they instantly get along.

A note to the lovely readers: She already knows about the assassin’s bc she’s seen devices that Leo was working on for Ezio. Not to mention that when she was younger her father spoke of a man who saved his life in Florence. Giovanni Auditore. As a rich English nobleman her father & Ezio’s father met, when he was attacked by Templars hoping to scare/threaten him into financially supporting them. It didn’t work and the two became good friends. Her father was even there when Giovanni married Maria. Ever since, her father has always spoken highly of the Auditore family, even years later after returning to England.

Also note: She is a late baby born to her parents in her father’s early 50’s & her mother’s early 40’s. She was born in 1490 making her 21 (almost 22 - she hasn’t had her birthday yet) and Ezio 53.

Ezio sees her for the first time at the docks when he arrives in the Turkish city. She’s standing beside Yusuf coaching him on his Italian bc this man told her about his “Ezio de lalala” joke and she’s terrified it’ll get him sliced and diced LOL. Ezio immediately wonders who she is, drawn to her wit and the fact that she tried to encourage Yusuf to be respectful during their first interaction, not to mention her reaction when Yusuf got nervous and winged it...which means he accidentally reverted back to "Ezio de lalala" lol.

The woman shook her head as she face palmed, before patting the man on the shoulder and backing away from him. "Requiescat In Pace Yusuf."

The Turkish assassin laughed nervously before his head swiveled to watch her back up from him. "(name) where are you going?"

She held her hands up "I'm not trying to see you die Mr. De Lalala!"

"I got nervous!"

"Well, you certainly have reason to be now look at his hand!"

Ezio froze as the pair turned their eyes to him, before realizing that his fingers were meeting his thumb in a gesture all too familiar to him. He slowly raised his hand and sighed taking a step forward, "Da Firenze."

"Ah. Apologies Mentor."

She smiled as Ezio chuckled. "See! Easy." then her smile dropped. "Now I'm going to run before he slices you."

Yusuf laughed as his friend retreated from himself and the Mentor, "(name) he took the joke!"

She called out over her shoulder, not stopping in pursuit of distancing herself from them. "And in another minute, he'll take your young life!"

Needless to say, Ezio is very amused by her humor and also how adorably she ran away. After speaking with Yusuf, he finds out that she'll be around often because she also helps the doctor for the assassin's - working on the side as his apprentice.

He won't deny that he also finds her very beautiful - even more so with the few flecks of paint he noticed on her hands (the man's fond of artists hello to his best friend? Also not following cannon that Leo passed away in 1519 @ 67, he's still alive). Knowing that he'll have another chance to see her again fills him with excitement and also nerves, as it's been a little bit since he's been around such an interesting and beautiful woman.

Ezio certainly looks forward to his next encounter with her....

Imagine: Revelations Ezio falling in love with a young scholar & apprentice of Da Vinci - Part 2

The next time they meet her hair has flecks of paint in it and her apron has blood on it. She's in the market buying medical supplies and although Ezio is nervous (The man is nervous! It's been a while since he's been around such an interesting woman, okay?) he carefully approaches her. He watches her at first taking in how beautiful he finds her. The paint in her long curly hair (he legit blushes when she asks him to help her pull some of the flecks out. Her hair was even softer than he had imagined)

He feels his heart JUMP in his chest when she speaks some Italian. He is so happy to hear his mother tongue in Turkey (bc as we know the man's Turkish is absurd - he said it not me, okay?) But also, because she sounds so beautiful when speaks it - even if she does laugh and apologize for how awful she thinks she sounds. He only finds her modesty even more attractive.

She's with them when Yusuf trolls Ezio about the bombs. Yusuf gets smacked and Ezio gets a kick out of her sassiness before she explains that they will in fact NOT explode if Ezio touches them but that he should be careful. Cue the Turkish assassin rubbing the back of his head and sticking his tongue out at Ezio as the elder assassin smirks at him and begins to examine the bombs.

Giving a serious yet very invigorated talk about how the bombs work, how they're made, how to safely use them and to IGNORE everything Yusuf says about them, how funny it is when it sends guards and Templars scrambling away like scared geese... Needless to say, her enthusiasm and little mischievous streak amuses and attracts him to her even more (bc as we ALLLL know Ezio was quite mischievous himself when he was younger...)

Lots of smirking and chuckling when she scolds him about losing Leo’s blades (he can't help it she's so cute when she's cross with him). But it's when her back is turned lol. He pretends to pout because of her scoldings but he secretly loves every second of it. He to put it mildly flirts his assassin ass off looll. He just can't help himself.

Will be on the brink of asking her to marry him when he sees her put some disrespectful assassins in their places. If they don't get the message with a verbal lashing (he LOVES how witty she is) they'll certainly get the message when she takes her shoe off haha. He burst out laughing the first time he saw a small shoe fly from nowhere across the room and smack one of the Novices in the face (he had to lean against the wall to catch his breath bc he couldn't stop laughing - it just got worse when she demanded that the Novice bring her shoe back and he DID)

He loves watching her work her magic in both medicine and art. She's so gentle and caring that it melts his heart, and when he witnesses her take care of a little girl that fell and scraped her knee? How she comforted the child and fixed her up? He's mentally screaming at how precious she is with children.

God help anyone who calls him old in her presence bc the one-time Ezio was insulted in front of her, before he could even get a word out the person got taken out by a flying chair. Ezio ADORES how she's tiny but mighty and how she can go from the smiling scholar to the mad as caligula assassin annihilator in less than five seconds. She does not take people's crap, and he finds that VERY attractive.

When My Back Was Turned (Ezio Auditore X Reader)

Words: 3645

Warnings/Themes: Injury, Violence, Blood, Not Quite Character Death, Angst, Fluff

Characters/Pairings: Ezio x Reader, Claudia, Mario, Maria (briefly mentioned)

A/N: This is just something I’ve been working on and finally decided to post. I almost didn’t. This isn’t the whole story that I wrote, there is more to the ending, but it felt too rushed for me to want to post it. Some background information for this one, I imagined the reader/ this character as ten years younger than Ezio. And in a form of self-indulgence, she comes from a world where AC is just a game, but I imagine it also has it’s version of Templars and Assassins that no one knows about. Thanks for reading!

When My Back Was Turned (Ezio Auditore X Reader)

They limped up to the villa, having abandoned their horses at the stables at the entrance to the village. Eyes had been glued to the battered pair from the moment they had approached. He wasn’t as badly beaten as she was, only sporting a split lip, a sprained wrist, and various cuts and bruises. He held her upright with an arm gently around her waist. He didn’t want to jostle her bruised, possibly fractured, ribs or her recently dislocated shoulder. She was bleeding from multiple wounds along her face and hands.

They were on their way to what was supposed to be a simple visit to Monteriggioni that turned into an ambush by some mountain bandits. Ezio had made it out relatively well and was already running away, thinking that his wife was just behind him. However, her shout of surprise told him otherwise.

As she had been about to follow him, a couple bandits grabbed her. And before she knew it, they had shoved her over the cliff face. It felt like she had rolled for hours when it had been mere seconds before her hand grabbed onto a young tree sprouting from the rock. It groaned and cracked under her added weight and threatened to break. Upon catching herself, her already damaged body smacked the rock and a sickening pop sounded as her arm left its socket.

Ezio had immediately jumped into action, swiftly dispatching the remaining attackers, and rushing to the cliff's edge. His heart hammered in his chest at the sight of her clinging to that sapling for dear life. She was too far down for him to grab her and she definitely wouldn’t be able to climb back up with her shoulder. Thinking fast, he stripped the cloaks and capes from the fallen bandits and tied them together into a makeshift rope. She could barely keep a hold of it as he pulled her back up to safety.

He held her close to him, petting her sweaty and bloody hair. He whispered comforting words to her as she shook against him. He knew she was scared of heights and falling, the reason for her refusing to free-run on certain buildings and to do a Leap of Faith, unless absolutely necessary. However, in this situation, she hadn’t been in control and it terrified her.

Once she had quieted down, Ezio sat her up properly and told her he needed to reset her shoulder. She had nodded somberly and let him pop it back into place without a peep. Ezio almost found it amusing how she can take the pain of a dislocated shoulder with only a wince, but she couldn’t handle heights. But now wasn’t the time to tease her.

Recovering their horses that had run off with their packs, the pair made their way back to Monteriggioni.

A doctor was already waiting for them as they entered the villa, some kind villager sending for one when they saw the two. Mario and Claudia stood with the doctor, the older female’s hands over her mouth, and Y/N was practically unconscious by the time they made it to the trio.

Mario swept up to take the woman into his arms, allowing Ezio to cradle his wrist and follow them into their shared room. (Y/n) was placed gently on the bed and the doctor immediately began his treatment. Ezio collapsed into the chair at the foot of the bed, his armor digging uncomfortably into his flesh.

“What happened?” Mario began his interrogation before Ezio could get his bearings. Shaking his head, Ezio began to carefully remove his armor. Claudia was already helping the doctor remove (Y/n)’s, who moaned in pain. The younger man’s eyes fixed on her at the sound.

Seeing that his nephew was not going to answer him now, Mario rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. Until (Y/n) was cared for and out of danger, Mario knew Ezio wouldn’t speak to anyone about the mission. This wasn’t the first time this has happened, but it is the worst condition either of them had been in in a long time.

“Once you two are rested, meet me in my office to discuss what happened.” Mario placed a hand on Ezio’s shoulder, squeezing gently. The younger man simply nodded, not wanting to take his eyes off his wife.

Nearly an hour later, (Y/n)’s wounds were patched up and Claudia had changed her into a loose shirt and pants. Ezio’s wrist had been wrapped and put into a sling and his lip cared for. He had moved his chair to be right next to her as she slept, tucked into the bed and her favorite blanket pulled up to her nose, just the way she liked it. He wished he could curl up with her in that bed, but on doctor’s orders, she was not to be moved around too much or her ribs would not heal properly.

Ezio knew he should probably go find his uncle but speaking to anyone and leaving his wife’s side didn’t sound very appealing. So he sat in his chair, watching as her eyes flickered behind her eyelids. She must be having a bad dream. As she often does after a particularly bad mission.

He reached over and stroked her cheek with his good hand, smiling softly when she nuzzled into his hand. She would probably wake in the morning grumpy and very hungry. An angel when she was asleep but a terrifying beast upon awakening. Ezio smiled wider at the thought. She would definitely kill him had she known his thoughts.

At some point in the late evening, Claudia knocked and left some food on the table next to him, squeezing his shoulder and telling him to eat and rest. He nodded and picked at the food. The roasted duck didn’t quite smell or taste as appealing as it did when he wasn’t consumed with worry.

Many times has he tried to convince his wife to retire from Assassin duties, to stay safe and live life to the fullest while she was still young. But those conversations usually ended with him sleeping on the floor and her not speaking to him for a full evening. How dare he think that she would ever let him face the dangers they did alone.

After eating as much as he could stomach, he carefully stripped from his robes and stepped behind the partition in the room. A tub filled with water sat in the corner, filled earlier with hot water by a maid. By now the water was less than lukewarm, but he hardly felt it as he lowered himself in. She had already been cleaned by Claudia with a cloth and a basin of water.

The partition was positioned so he could still see her on the bed when he leaned back. On his own terms, he would have just climbed into bed after changing into a sleeping shirt, but since he began courting her, she always refuses him to enter her bed unless clean.

‘I don’t want my bed smelling like blood, metal, and sweat!’ She had yelled at him early on in their relationship. No matter where they were if there was a bed, she had to be clean before entering it. He figured it came from whatever futuristic upbringing she had.

He still vividly remembers that day, he had just brought the Apple to Leonardo’s workshop with his uncle and Niccolò for the artist to study. When Leonardo had reached out to touch it a bright, golden light engulfed the room and a figure fell from thin air. Ezio had rushed forward to catch the person.

She was unconscious and dressed in strange clothes. But he wouldn’t lie, this stranger was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. In the next few days they had found out she came from a different world, far in the future. She had been tasked by a being called Minerva to guide Ezio on his journey.

Six years had now gone by and she had since become a master assassin and his wife. His gaze fell down to his bruised knuckles. A gold wedding band laid just above one, on his left ring finger. He didn’t normally wear it on missions but seeing as how this was supposed to be just a visit back to Monteriggioni, he had worn it proudly. It had a red smudge of blood on it. Removing it from his finger, he washed it in the waters.

Finishing up in the tub, he threw on a sleeping shirt and stepped quietly over to the bed. He was always hesitant when sleeping with her when she was injured. He was either a fitful sleeper or a cuddler. Neither one is very good for her injured state. But he knew she wouldn’t rest as well without him next to her. So being cautious, he placed a few pillows between them before fully settling in. He laid on his side, careful of his wrist, and gently stroked a knuckle across her soft cheek.

Her lips quirked up and she turned her head to nuzzle into his hand. He let a gentle smile take over his face. Even battered and weary, she still found a reason to smile. Pride swelled in his chest at being the reason for her smiles most of the time. A truly beautiful thing to behold.

“Buonanotte, amore mio.” He withdrew his hand, but let it rest on her stomach. As his eyes closed, he felt calloused fingers wrap around his.

“Buonanotte, Bello.” Her voice was raspy and quiet, but it was still the sweetest sound he'd ever heard.

________________________________________________________________

A knock to the solid wood door roused him from his dreamless sleep. As predicted, he had moved a lot in his sleep. Now he laid on his back, arms sprawled out and one leg tossed over the barrier of pillows, his foot tucked under her leg. The sheets had bunched around his waist and the duvet tossed over her slumbering body. Drool was crusted to the side of his mouth and his hair was in disarray. She, of course, looked positively heavenly, despite her injuries.

Rising from the bed, Ezio straightened his appearance and moved to the door as a second knock sounded. The kind Doctor from the previous day had returned, most likely to change her bandages. Behind the elderly man was Claudia, a tray with fruits, bread, and two small bowls of soup on it.

“Ah, Dottore, Buongiorno. Come in.” Ezio stepped to the side, letting the two into the room. He excused himself to behind the partition to change into more presentable clothes. It was somewhat difficult with only one good arm, but he managed. After struggling to button his shirt up with one hand he gave up, stepping out from the partition. Claudia rolled her eyes and buttoned his shirt up for him.

“Nothing but a child.” She grumbled, poking him roughly in the chest. He chuckled, rubbing the spot.

“Careful, Claudia, I still have uses for him.” A raspy voice came from the bed. Claudia’s attention snapped over to her sister-in-law.

“(Y/N)!” The siblings rushed to the bed, leaving enough space for the doctor. “How are you feeling?” Claudia questioned. The younger woman gave a pained smile as the Doctor peeled back the bandage on one of her deeper wounds.

“Like hell, to be honest. And I’d kill for some ibuprofen…” She bit her lip and pressed her head further into the pillows when the doctor dabbed an alcohol-soaked rag into the wound. Ezio took a step closer, worry flooding his veins. He truly hated seeing her in such a state. He was beating himself up inside for not getting to her sooner.

“I can give you a poultice to take the edge away around your ribs.” The doctor began rewrapping her wounds. “I’d advise you twist or move around as little as possible for the next few weeks to give your ribs time to heal, and only wear loose clothing. Your other bandages must be changed every eight hours.”

“Grazie, Dottore.” The woman nodded in appreciation. The doctor smiled and set a small jar of the poultice on the bedside table. After giving a few instructions on the next few weeks of healing, he bid the three farewell and departed.

“I’m glad you’re already doing better, mia sorella.” Claudia sat on the edge of the bed, taking Y/N’s hand in hers. “You had me worried sick seeing you return like that.” She lightly scolded.

“Sorry, Claudia. Next time I’ll tell those bandits to not attack us. Just because you worry about me.” Y/N smiled.

“Piccola merda.” The two women laughed, only to be cut off from the grunt of pain from the junior. Ezio finally stepped forward, still silent as before. He took the jar and removed the lid, setting it on the table.

Claudia stood up out of the way of the man on a mission. His face was drawn into a concentrated frown and he refused to look at his wife’s scratched-up face. With stiff and precise movements, he pulled up her shirt to just under her breast. Her skin was a vivid purple, the bruise forming overnight. His brows furrowed deeper at the sight.

His sister excused herself, sensing that the two needed to talk. But not before directing her brother to make sure to feed his wife the soup she had brought. He merely grunted in response, dipping two fingers into the greasy concoction.

Despite his angry demeanor and calloused hands, his touch was feather-light on her skin as he spread the poultice on her ribs. Her eyes didn’t leave his face as he worked. It had been so long that either one of them had been injured like this that Ezio was having a hard time controlling his emotions.

“Bello…” Her voice was just a whisper, but it had his finger freezing over her skin. He sniffed and grabbed a rag to wipe his hands clean. “Ezio. Look at me.” Her fingers closed around his wrist, tugging him down to sit next to her. He slowly brought his eyes up to meet hers. And the tears immediately sprung to his eyes.

“Oh, my love…” Her own vision blurred with tears and she threaded her fingers with his. “It’s okay, I’m okay.”

“I should have been faster… I should have made sure you were following me…I’m so sorry, mia bella.” He covered his face with his free hand, the other squeezing her fingers. His chest constricted with suppressed sobs.

“Ezio.” Her voice was soft but stern. He managed to look at her again. “This is not your fault. You had no way of knowing what was going to happen, not even your sixth sense could have predicted this… I don’t blame you for this happening, so I don’t want you to blame yourself either.”

He sniffled and wiped the tears from his face.

“And besides, I promised to kick the ass of anyone who wronged you. So don’t make me kick your ass when I get out of this bed.” She gave him her signature lopsided grin. He let a laugh escape him despite the want to sob instead.

“Now, I’m starving, so help me sit up.”

“Sì, Signora.” Ezio helped her up and placed the tray of food in her lap. There was just enough for the two of them. They ate in silence for a few minutes, not realizing how hungry they were.

“The real tragedy here though is that I think I lost my hairpin down the side of that cliff.” She pouted as she popped a strawberry into her mouth. The dainty gold hairpin had been an anniversary gift from Ezio two years ago and she wore it every time they took a break.

Ezio chuckled. “I shall buy you all the hairpins until the void of missing that one is filled.”

“Oh, my dear, I fear your wallet will weep. As it may take all the hairpins in the world for the hole in my chest to be filled.” She feigned distress, pressing the back of her bandaged hand to her forehead.

A yawn suddenly forced its way from her, stretching her chest painfully.

“You should sleep, it will help you heal.” Ezio cleared the tray and set it next to the door. His wrist twinged. He almost forgot his own injury. Despite the pain though, he once again helped his wife lay down and pulled the blankets up to her chin. Her eyes batted slowly up at him; her lips pursed ever so slightly. He huffed a laugh and bent down to press a slow kiss to her waiting lips.

“I will be back before you wake again, mia bella.” After kissing her forehead, he made sure she closed her eyes then left the room. He had to report to his uncle about the attack. Not something he looked forward to.

________________________________________________________________

It took a little less than six weeks for her to be fully healed. Her ribs still twinged dully when she twisted wrong, but daily stretches were quickly strengthening her muscles again. Ezio had finally broken his moody attitude now that she was up and walking.

The pair had stayed in Monteriggioni while she healed but constantly corresponded with the others in the Brotherhood. But today, the two were finally returning to Venezia to continue their search for Savonarola and The Apple.

She knew Ezio was anxious to resume their search, but despite being injured, she was glad they had somewhat of a break. She knew it would be around this time that Savonarola would be making his way into Firenze to steal control from the Medici. In the next three years, they will be storming the city to take down the corrupt monk. And then they won’t have a moment to breathe.

“Tesoro, are you ready to go?” Ezio’s voice brought her back from her thoughts. She smiled up at her husband and nodded. They were already packed and had their horses ready for the long journey. She hugged Mario, Claudia, and Maria goodbye as they met them at the town's entrance. She mounted her horse, Ezio on his horse trotting up next to her.

Waving, the pair left the town. And for the next eight years, they fought tooth and nail against the Templars. They defeated Savonarola, regained the apple, took down Rodrigo, and returned to Monteriggioni. Got run out of said town and came to Rome. Together, they began the rebellion against Cesare, starting with destroying the machines he forced Leonardo to make for him.

The two had destroyed all but one, the naval cannon. Following the engineer and getting past the guards was the easy part. Burning the blueprints was also easy. But when it came to actually destroying the machine and the naval fleet, that had proved to be more difficult.

Ezio rowed the gondola while she manned the Cannon. And slowly but surely, they dispatched the large ships. They had survived a few near-hits, the small boat rocking violently, the ropes and extra ammunition sliding around on the floor.

She cheered as the last ship went down in flames, Ezio breathlessly laughing next to her. His arms were on fire from rowing.

Y/N turned the Cannon, facing down onto itself. She looked over to her husband with a grin. “Would you care to do the honors, messere?”

“Don’t mind if I do.” Ezio wrapped his hand around the firing mechanism, “Perdonatemi, Leonardo.” He pulled back on the lever and they both turned to dive off the side of the boat.

But as she had said once, many years ago, they could not have predicted this.

As the boat had been rocking from enemy fire, and she moved around, a rope had looped itself into the perfect snare around her foot. When she jumped from the boat, it tightened, the other end is tied off on the metal machine. She had dived perfectly, was swimming next to Ezio as the explosion went off.

And then she was yanked back.

As the Cannon sunk to the bottom of the bay the rope tightened even more around her leg. She was quickly running out of air as she tried to free herself. Her hidden blade picked the wrong time to jam, if only she cleaned it as often as she should have.

Ezio was just about to break the surface when he turned to look at her. And his blood went as cold as the water around him. Managing to take a deep breath at the surface, he dove back down, swimming as fast as he could. She was sinking fast, faster than he could keep up. He watched desperately as she finally gave up, looking up at him and giving him an apologetic smile.

“NO!” The word only came out as a bubbled scream, mixing with the last bit of air leaving her body. Her eyes slipped shut and she descended into the dark depths. Out of his vision.

Not caring about his swiftly depleting oxygen supply, Ezio continued to swim after her. His lungs burned and his arms and legs grew slower. Just when he thought he was going to pass out as well, a bright golden light illuminated the bay, he could see the outline of the Cannon as it sunk. But not her.

The ache in his chest became too much and his body moved to the surface on its own. His head broke the surface and he gasped for air. His body was filled with relief, but his mind was a typhoon of emotions. Panic, confusion, grief.

He knew that light, he had seen it fourteen years ago when she first entered this world.

And just as she had come, she disappeared just as quickly.

You were living in Rome for a long time now, your parents moved out from Florence when you were 10 years old only. You left everything behind, your whole life, every good person and every friend, including your childhood friend named Ezio.

For a long time you were sending letters to him and he was writing back to you. One day everything has just stopped. You never heard anything from Ezio again and it was sad, it ripped your heart apart. You were close with him,  he was your best friend even if your parents didn’t like him.

You good remembered, how you both were running around streets of Florence, simply enjoying your time of youth, making troubles not once or twice.

You still could remember how sad he was when your parents were living the town with you by their side.

The only thing that has left you was a necklace, that Ezio and his mother had given you before you left Florence for good.

You sighed loudly playing with the jewellery, watching how beautiful Rome was. All those people, beautiful places, shops... It was your home now, a place where you were feeling safe.

Now you were living alone, your parents bought you house in a good district. They made sure, that you had everything that you needed and they were regularly paying you visits, which were a bit annoying for you. You were an adult woman now.

One day you decided to go and make small shopping for the evening. You put on your favorite long, [Y/F/C] dress, than slowly brushed your [Y/H/L], [Y/H/C] hair and looked  at your reflection in the mirror. You looked like a real aristocrat, you only smiled at yourself and quickly grabbed your basket and some of the money.

The weather was nice and the city was calm, like really calm. Guards were walking thought streets, bards were playing happy songs on their instruments (two bards even got some money from you). And finally you found your shops.

Shopping went rather quick, you good knew what you had wanted to buy and how much you had wanted to buy. It never was a problem for you.

During your way back home someone ran into you. It was a man, dressed in white raiment with a hood on. He quickly grabbed your elbow before you fell on the ground. “Mi dispiace veramente, signora”. Man only said, he made sure you are standing still and he continued his runaway.

“Imbecille!” you yelled after him and in the same moment you saw group of guards, they were following the stranger.

You spend whole day sitting on the balcony, thinking about your accidental meeting with the man n the street. You still could see him in your thoughts. He looked like someone strong, someone in hurry, but he remained polite, he probably was dangerous. The hood, guards...

You only shook you head trying to get rid of those thoughts, because suddenly you heard a weird noises  form… Somewhere… You couldn’t really tell, from where they came, but then suddenly you saw the man from the town, but he didn’t look as good as then.

His white raiment was stained with blood, probably his own, he was tired and you could tell this basing on his breath and heavy gasps, that you both could hear. Probably guards got him earlier...

“Where is he?! He for sure went that way!” You could hear guards screams. You looked at weak man and pulled him inside your house, he was even too weak to protest. You quickly closed balcony doors.

“What you did?” You muttered as you laid man on your own bed.

You sat on bed and thought what you can do, then you decided to try to use the knowledge that you had from your friend, who was a doctor.

“I’m sorry, but I have to take it off… At least upper part of your clothes..” You said and slowly tried to take off his hood, but immediately he grabbed both of your hands. “Calm down, no matter who you are, my mouth are silent. I promise.” You said, looking at him. Man only nodded and let you remove his hood off. And you had to say, that he was handsome… Really handsome. You smiled at him softly and started to take care of his wounds. Sometimes he let out a hiss or a quiet moan, but it was all. For most of time he remained silent, being rude enough to look into your cleavage, when he was thinking you weren’t paying attention.

After an hour you sighed softly, than got up from bed. Man slowly sat up. “Grazie, signora.” ”Sei benvenuto, signore. It was nice to help you, but I think you should rest a bit and I’m more than sure you won’t be able to run tonight.” You smiled at man.

He smiled back softly. “I think you are right, signora. May I ask you a question?” You nodded slowly. “Of course, yes?” “Your necklace… Where did you get it?” He asked, watching you carefully. “It’s a gift from a friend.. I got it before I left my home town..” You only said and shrugged, taking necklace into your hand. “Goofing around streets of Florence? Getting into troubles? Spending whole days having fun?” Man asked, smiling at you. “Yes but how… You… Ezio… Ezio Auditore..?” You asked, you were deeply shocked, your eyes were wide and you had no idea, what was exactly happening now.

“One and only… [Y/N]  [Y/L/N]! My beloved friend!” Not paying attention to the pain, he simply got up from bed and took you into his arms, hugging you tight as he only could.

You laughed happily and almost started cry from happiness, right now you realised, how much you were missing him. You sighed and nuzzled to him.

“I missed you so much… I… I’m sorry… Few years after you left, so many things had happened in my life… That… I just lost my contact with you.” He said, still holding you tight in his arms.

You nodded. “It’s okay.” You took his hand and looked at him with tears in your eyes and with a big smile on your face. “We have whole night for each others.” Ezio stroked your cheek and nodded. “You are right.”

Both of you spent whole night at talking. He told you about terrible things that happen to his family and about what he had to do and who he had became. You told him, what was happening with you after you left Florence. You felt sorry for him, so many bad stuff happened to the man, but you were proud of him at the same time.

At morning Ezio put on his raiment and looked at you. “It was nice to see you again. I hope… We won’t lose contact this time…” You giggled and shook your head. “As long as you will find time for me in your busy life.” “Will you patch me up sometimes? It’s better than going to medics… I don’t need to pay.” He shrugged. You only laughed loudly. “Ezio, this house is big as you can see… And I live here alone. I can promise you that… You and your assassins will always find a help and shelter here, I will always be ready to take care of their wounds, give then place to proper rest and feed them with homemade dishes. It will be pleasure for me to help you.” “[Y/N]… I don’t know what to say… Grazie.” He hugged you. “You know… There is one thing that I wanted to do for so long… I wanted to do this before you left, but… We were too young.” You blinked. “But… What do you…”

You were cut off by a kiss, deep and strong one. When man broke the kiss ,you looked at him in shock. Ezio put on his hood and smiled at you briefly. “We will meet later, wait here at me. If something will happen, you know, where my sister and mother are. They will give a shelter to you. See you, bella.” He simply left your house, jumping out of the window.

You watched him for a bit and then you walked back to your bedroom. “Ezio Auditore… You’ve changed so much.” You whispered quietly under your breath, gently touching the necklace on your decolletage.

Chasing The Shadow || Part II

Summary: Your quiet life quickly get complicated Words: 1712 Warnings: none Author: Cass

image

It was a month since you met Ezio again and you two were together now.

You were happy. You finally felt alive.

Taking care of assassins was something good for you. You were busy but never alone, assassins appreciated your work.

Your duty was to take care of every Ezio’s assassin. Sometimes assassins were coming to you, they were sick or hurt. You were patching their wounds or you were making sure they will recover really quick from any sickness. It was hard, some assassins were stubborn as hell, sicknessa tough task to keep them in bed.

The nicest work was when assassins were coming to you to get something to eat. It was nice to cook for more than one person. You were cooking for everyone, for sick and hurt assassins and of course for hungry assassins

Sometimes it was hard. Some nights you had to stay awake. Just like one night when you peacefully slept in your bed, dressed only in your [Y/F/C] nightgown. Suddenly your arm was grabbed and sshakd.

“[Y/N] wake up… please…” You good knew this voice, it was Ezio.

You looked at him.

“What is it…?” You muttered and sat up, rubbing your eyes.

“We need your help..” He said and looked over his shoulder, shoulde same and looked behind him. Two of his assassins were holding the third man. He was badly hurt… really really badly. You blinked in shock and looked back at Ezio. “Something has went wrong? Take him to free room, undress him, Ezio, take my bag and go with them… I will dress up and join you really quickly.” You only said and everyone listened to you. Taking care of assassin's wounds took you many hours.

You spend whole night, sitting on bed next to the hurt man, making sure everything is okay.

Ezio walked into room.

“Tesoro… come to bed, you need some rest.”

You only shook your head.

“I will be fine. I need to make sure… that he won’t die.”

Man only sighed and walked to you, he kissed your forehead, stroking your cheek.

“Bene, but please as soon as he will be fine. You have to take care of yourself. Buona note.”

“Buona note, my love.” You said quietly.

It was the worst night ever but you loved this work, many assassins were thankful because you saved their lives. You often talked with your friend who was a doctor, he was teaching you new stuff what made you only better in your work.

You also felt happy from different reason and it was because you were with Ezio, you two were together and this made you really happy. He was always making sure you are safe. No matter what it was, a walk, small trip for shopping, meeting with friends, always two assassins were somewhere close, keeping their eyes on you.

Ezio even made sure, that you got your choker. Simple black ribbon with silver assassin’s emblem.

This was your life now. No matter how hard it was sometimes, you loved it in the way it was.

You were walking around your living room, reading book. Nothing interesting, some medical stuff from your friend. You were just walking and repeating words from pages, you were trying your best to memorize them.

Suddenly someone grabbed your waist and picked you up, you let out a loud, scared whimper and you were scared until you saw who it was.

It was Ezio with happy smile on his face, you looked at him and laughed. “Ezio... Don’t scare me like this, please.”

“Scusami.” He said simply and kissed you.

You kissed him back and slowly took off his hood. “I missed you...” You said quietly.

Ezio put you back onto floor and hugged you tightly. “I missed you too so much.” He tried to hug you even tighter but he only hissed.

You blinked surprised, than you looked at him, frowning. “What did you do?” You asked angrily.

“Me? Nothing!” He said and smiled at you, “alright, alright... I just got stabbed few time.”

You rolled your eyes annoyed. “Sit.” You growled and went to find your bag.

Ezio sat down on your bed. “Don’t be mad, mi amore.” He said and started undress himself.

“Il mio bel, idiota.” You growled and stared dressing his wounds.

“They started looking for you...” Ezio looked at you, he seemed to be worried.

You were gently cleaning his woubes, you looked at him. “For me...?”

“Well... Not particulary but they know that there is someone in the city. Someone who helps us, they slowly try to look for this person...”

You shivered. “But... what I will do now..” You said deeply scared. You were brave, but not brave enough to stand still about possibility of being captured.

“Don’t worry, you will be safe. I premise.”

~~ Few days later~~

You took your basket and left your house. You walked trough calm streets of Rome, looking around at houses, people, at the whole world which was surrounding you.

You felt a bit weird. Ezio left you again to take care of some ‘important stuff’, you hated it because he was always leaving you under care of his assassins and the truth was you needed him the most.

You looked around, this weird feeling on the back of your neck was still presence. No one, only two assassins on the roof, but around you... no one. No suspicious people. You took deep scared breath and continued your walk, no matter how fast you were walking this feeling didn’t left you. For sure it wasn’t because of assassins, you were already used to their presence, it was something different and you could felt it in your bones. You only shook your head and walked even faster to do shopping and go back to home as quick as it was possible. Was it paranoia or you just lost the habit of feeling good around normal people, knowing your position now?

You got everything that you needed, Some food, medicines and fabrics. You were looking around whole time. But no one was after you, all you could see were people, normal people and guards that were walking around the streets. Everything was extraordinary.

“I think it’s paranoia..” You muttered to yourself when you opened door to your house. It was when you saw both of your “protectors” on the ground, they were probably dead, but this wasn’t the thing that scared you the most.

There was five heavily armoured soldiers and their captain. Man looked at you hardly. “As I can see, we were right. This place really is an assassin’s hideout, and you need to be their “famous” slut.”

Man growled, walking closer to you. “You are arrested. As a traitor!” man ripped off necklace from your neck.

You wanted to fight, oh so badly, but you know you had no chance. If you would start a fight, you would die. Being arrested was ‘better’ option in your situation. You only looked at man, growling under your breath.

He smiled and grabbed your cheek. “You won’t try be so strong later.” Man said. “Take her!” He ordered to his men and left your house.

Soldiers were really harsh with you. They put tight rough ropes on your hands and pushed you out of the house.

The walk to the prison... was terrible, every person, no matter if you know these people or not. They were looking at you, frowning, whispering between each others, turning their back to you.

You felt bad but, you also knew you were doing the right thing. No matter what people were thinking.

People in prison tried to pull out information from you. Cold water, beating up, intimidation... nothing made you talk. Maybe it was a mistake for you not to talk, but you knew you had to stay loyal to Assassins.

By the end of the day you were threw into a small cell, filled with mud and old hay. Your once beautiful dress was destroyed, your hair was a mess, your face was completely devastated, just like the rest of your body.

You whimpered, when you tried to got up from floor, but all you could do was getting onto your knees and hands. You looked around and saw an old matters, stained with blood and with other fluids you didn’t want to know about.

You forced yourself to move. You slowly laid down on your new ‘bed’ thinking about what will happen next. Will Ezio return on time? Or maybe his assassins will make him go back... or maybe they will help you? Maybe you will die here? What will happen tomorrow? What they will do to you next time?

All those questions filled your head, you were scared, but also full of faith, even when strong pain was filling your body.

Next day everything has been repeated: tortures, questions, tortures, questions... over and over again.

In the end of the day, you were just laying on your bed, listening to screams and guard’s talks. The thing that you heard frizzed your blood.

“What with that assassin’s woman. The one that was helping them?” “You didn’t heard. She don’t want to talk. She will be hanged  tomorrow.” “Why so quick?” “Captain is mad. I think he has a plan. I have no idea.”

You could feel tears in your eyes you didn’t want to break down, especially not now...

“Where is she?!” Ezio yelled loudly. His voice was full of fear and anger, his eyes were full of rage. “How could you let something like this happen to her!?”

Assassins that were supposed to protect you looked at each other, one of them started to talk.

“We... We tried, but...”

“They were awaiting...” The other one finished. “We didn't have any chances..”

“Imbecilli! You two have to find her. And tell me where is she. Understand?” He asked frowning.

Both man nodded and quickly ran out of house.

Ezio sighed heavily and looked around your devastated house. He felt so bad now, just every place reminded him about every single good moment with you.

He slowly sat down and rubbed his face.

“I will find you... I promise.” He said quietly to himself, clenching his hands into a fists.

Chasing The Shadow || Part III || Ending

Summary: After all scary events your life may become calm. Words: 1973 Warnings: none Author: Cass

image

You could see this. Sun rising on the sky, slowly changing black night into a bright day. Through small window you could see how they were preparing everything, one sight at the gallows made your stomach hurt. Just the imagine of you… hanging there made you sick. Your stomach hurt, your heart was beating faster, you had problems with catching a proper breath, your mind was one big mess.

“What will happen with me later?” “What my parents will say?” “This is the end..” “I don’t wanna die.” All those thoughts, they were loud like a war drum in your head.

You sat on the floor and pulled your legs to your chest, trying to calm yourself down.

“It’s okay… He is gonna come. He would never leave me. He loves me…” You kept repeating those words to calm down your mind.

And you were right. He was gonna come, but he had to plan everything. Ezio didn’t plan to kill whole prison to get you out. He wanted show everyone, that you are assassin’s property that no one can touch or hurt. They had to know that you were under their protection.

He wanted to prove you that you don’t need to be scared. His plan was simple. Assassins kill guards and he kill your executioner and get you, than make sure you will be safe.

You felt cold shivers going through your body when door to your cell hes been opened. Two guards smiled rudely at you. They grabbed your arm and dragged you out of cell. You tried your best to release yourself from their strong grips, you tried to kick and jerk but nothing helped, they were too strong for you.

They took you to the same place from last time… dark cell, few candles and the same old, wooden chair, stained with blood of others that had the “pleasure” to visit this place. You looked around when guards threw you onto this chair.

Then you saw him, he was a commandant of this place. He send you the same smile as guards before.

“Soo, I see you again… Listen, I’m sure you know what fate waits on you outside, so better talk now and I will change my decision”

“No! I will never betray my assassins! NEVER!”

Man only shook his head and slowly put on leather glows. You good knew what this meant…

Man smiled at you rising his hand. “Than suffer for your assassins, slut!” He said and hit you in the face.

The wave of pain moved through your body, even when range of pain was your cheek that become red and swollen from the force of impact. You felt tears in your eyes but you stayed as brave as you could, you saved assassin’s lifes not once. You were brave for them because you knew they will pay all their debts.

Hit, hit, hit another hit, hit after hit was aimed into your already aching face.

“Where are they! Where?! No one will come to safe you.”

Man growled and sighed heavily. He looked at you, all he saw was pathetic, beaten up woman.

“Take her, we will see each other later.” He said and looked away. Guards dragged you back to cell and closed door behind you.

You sighed and again looked outside, you saw how people started to gather up around the gallows. You felt like something squeeze your throat… was it again an imagine of you hanging there.

You felt like with every minute you were closer to your end. What if this man was right, what if they left you, what if this was really your end.

One thing made your heart stop… you saw them… older woman and man… You recognized them, your parents. Two the most important people in your life, people who gave you everything. You felt even worst.

You put your hand between bars and whimpered.

“Mamma! Papà!”

Somehow your mom looked into your direction, she quickly pulled her husband by hand and ran to your window.

“Dio mio! My child…”

She took your bruised hand and put it on her cheek.

“What have you done…”

“Is it true?! You really helped those assassins?!” Your father growled. “How could you? This is such a shame for us! For whole family!”

“Stop it! Looked at her.” Your mother yelled at him.

You looked at them both, with tears in eyes.

“I really… I didn’t… I wanted to…  I had to… please forgive me.”

“There is no forgiveness for you.” Man said. “You deserve the same fate like every assassin.” He said and walked away.

Woman looked at you.

“Is it about him, about this man?” She asked looking at tears on your cheeks.

You only nodded feeling how words got stuck in your throat. “Yes… He is one of them, I was helping them.  Sorry Madre, I love him.”

Woman smiled sadly and put hand between bars to stroke your cheek. “Mother always forgive, I love you my child.” She kissed your hand and slowly walked away.

You felt terrible, you just slide onto floor and started cry, you felt like you really changed.

They came for you, again two guards, they brought black cape for you. One of man put it around your shoulders and put hood on your head. They pushed you out of cell, but you didn’t break. You tried to keep some self pride. You walked, like a lady, listening to all screams, you didn’t pay attention to stuff that were threw into your direction.

You walked onto platform and listened how judge was reading your judgments. “Do you have anything to say before your die?” man asked.

You took deep breath.

“I did nothing wrong! I helped people that really needed this. People which we all need!” You yelled only to meet angry screams from people.

You looked at all of them, you saw your parents somewhere in the crowd. You mother was crying when your father stayed still.

Then you felt thick rope that executioner put onto your throat, he even didn't take off hood from your head.

Suddenly there were some moves in crowd, white hoods! Your heart started beating faster, not from fear but happiness, now you felt safe. You watched how few guards disappeared and were replaced with assassins in guard’s uniforms. One of them winked at you when small knife threw from crowd, weakened rope.

“[Y/N] [Y/L/N], I sentence you to death!” judge yelled.

Your executioner pulled the lever.

The hole under you opened up but you just fell down because rope wasn’t now strong enough to hold your weight. You looked out from the hole to see Ezio quickly killing judge and executioner.

People watched everything terrified.

“People of Rome!”

He yelled and helped you get out from hole. “This woman is under my protection. You touch her - you’re gonna have to fight with me!” He yelled. “I wanna you all to know that. No matter who you are, normal citizen or a soldier. You can’t touch her!”

After that Ezio got onto his horse and helped you got there too. “Let’s go home” He said quietly.

Ezio jumped off of his horse and took you into his arms.

“What they have done to you?” He said and opened door to his hideout. There were few assassins, they all looked at you and with smile on their faces.

You could saw and feel how happy they were that they saw you again, you heard so many nice words from them. Your man only smiled at you.

“Let’s go take care of you.”

It took him few hours to fully wash your body and properly take care of you, every touch made you shiver.

Ezio gently touched your cheek “You are safe now. No one is gonna touch you ever again.” He said and kissed you softly. You only whimpered happily and kissed him back. Now you really felt safe like never before.

It took you two months to return to your condition. This two months some showed you how much you did for brotherhood, Sometimes you were walking next to Ezio but sometimes not. No matter of that you always could see ready breakfast, it wasn’t always perfect but you could see that assassins tried their best, they were always offering their help, they were bringing  you flowers, they were making shopping for you. Assassins were coming to you only to check if you feel okay and to make sure you aren’t sick or hungry. It was so sweet from their side. Now you knew what you were for them.

But still the most important from them was your man, Ezio tried be with you as often as possible. You loved to lie down to sleep next to him and in the same way to wake up. He always made sure you fell okay and that all your injuries healed properly, he made sure you feel safe.

After few days you walked to Ezio and nuzzled to him.

“What are you doing?” You asked quietly.

He smiled and pulled you onto his laps.

“Just planning… I try to find something about Zaccheo [Y/L/N]” Ezio said and stroked your hair. “He is a Templar.”

You blinked and looked at him shocked. “Zaccheo [Y/L/N]…?”

Ezio only nodded. “Something’s wrong?”

“He… He is my father..” You said “But… But he can’t… I mean… God, it would explain his… his behavior two months ago… He was oddly happy that they will hang me…”

Ezio looked at you confused.

“What are you talking about..?”

“My parents found me right before execution. My father… He said that they should hang me because I worked with assassins.” You said. “But he… I would… I never thought that he may be a templar.”

“[Y/N]…” Ezio started, “I’m sorry but… I need to take care of him. He is dangerous… For all of us…” He said and touched your cheek gently. “I’m really sorry…”

Ezio spend whole night, calming you down but finally you started undstood. That this really needed to happen. You agreed and you did this because you decided to stay with assassins.

You watched how Ezio was leaving hideout to do “his mission”, you knew he was going to get your father. You were scared even when he promised he won’t touch your mother. You trusted him.

You didn’t sleep that night, you waited only to see him and to hear that he did this. When he returned, he looked weird.

“What happened.” You asked.

Ezio looked at you.

“Hey, So… It’s over, Just your father… He Said ‘I’m not afraid of death. I could see why The Order is important. You, assassins pull good people onto bad way. My daughter is a good example of it.’ I never..” Ezio Shivered ” I… i never thought about that in such way.”

You walked to him.

“Ezio… you all did nothing. I joined because I wanted to, no one forced me to anything.” You said and looked at him.

He smiled sadly and hugged you tightly.

“I love you… I will always protect you but… now I want you to pack some stuff. We are leaving Rome tomorrow’s morning. Don’t ask where we are going… you will see.” He said and kissed you.

You returned the kiss and nodded.

At morning you both were ready. Your horse followed Ezio’s horse. You had no idea where are you were going, but you honestly wanted to leave the city. Your direction was unknown but  you were with your man and everything bad stayed in Rome. You felt good with this.

Since this day your life got crazy as hell but finally after long time everything become normal. Ezio took off his hood on forever and you became his wife.

Life finally become calm.
