Marie sans chemise, Horloge, Amiens, France: The one that all Amiens people call Marie sans chemise, is in fact officially named after a former mayor of Amiens, Louis Dewailly, who in his will of February 12, 1892, bequeathed 25,000 francs to the municipality for the construction of this clock. It was four years after the death of Louis Dewailly, on April 2, 1892, that the clock was born. It was the architect Émile Ricquier who was appointed to design the structure of the monument, while the sculptor Albert Roze was to adorn it with one of his works. The two men blamed each other for the delays. The clock was finally started on August 4, 1896..Émile Ricquier, born on 3 February 1846 in Amiens and died September 15, 1906 was a French architect.
