EdMay Day 1: Intro!

I’m doing my own art challenge this month! I decided instead of doing mermay again I would give my sona, Edmai the shapeshifter, some more love. Every day I’ll be posting a drawing of her as a different species, I’ll be deciding on them by randomly picking from a list I have or from suggestions, whichever I feel like that day lol. My goal for this challenge is to explore different art styles and creature designs, and also just to make more art of her cuz I haven’t been lol.

If you wish to participate in EdMay feel free to tag me in your posts, though I’m not expecting people to draw my sona for the entire month lol. This is simply for me to be self indulgent.

EdMay Day 2: EdMerMai

Figured I’d kick things off with a mermaid form, since it’s also the beginning of MerMay. I wanted to give her some feathery lookin features to mimic the wings on her head, so I ended up going with a sea slug mermaid design!

EdMay Day 4 - Feathered Serpent

I had both snake and dragon on the list, so I decided to fuse them together for a more eastern dragon, long feathered serpent lookin design. I like the chaotic look of this, just a magestic tangle of wings lol.

EdMay Day 6: EdMoth

Moffffff (Based on the Tolype moth)

EdMay Day 7: EdMonkey

I wasn’t originally gonna do this, but then I was talking with my mom and she suggested monkey, I’m glad she did cuz I had so much fun with this one. I based this one on the Northern plains gray langur.

EdMay Day 8: Edmaid!

This is probably my favourite entry so far ^.^ I’ve always wanted to do one of those "erase the sketch to reveal the full image" things, they’re so satisfying lol

EdMay Day 9: Edoggomai

I don’t think I’ve drawn her as any sort of canine since her redesign. Fun fact for those who didn’t know, Edmai used to be a blu wolf. Very furry of me I know lol

EdMay Day 10-12: mmmmm potatos

I’m now playing catch-up, had to pause Edmay due to school, here’s some smol Ed beans to make up for the days I missed

EdMay Day 13: EdBat

Bats r baby, all the Halloween aesthetics! I like how the wings unintentionally look like spider webs lol

EdMay Day 14: PERSONA

I couldn’t help myself lol, this is just such a fun style to mimic. I wanted to reimagine her if she was one of the mascot party members like Mona and Teddie, would you have her on your team?

EdMay Day 15: Taumai

Since Edmai’s Taum form is like one of the only versions of Edmai I have a ref sheet for I figured I had to get at least one Taum drawing of her. Decided to throw in my other Taum bab Buppy, so wholesome, best puppers

EdMay Day 16: Edecora

Another Human Ed, I needed to make sum talk sprites for a stream so I decided to embrace my pastel trashyness for this lol. I look like a candy cane lmao.

EdMay Day 19: Zoromai

I had a few Pokémon on my prompt list, I picked zoroark cuz of their illusion ability, and since Edmai is a shapeshifter it just made sense lol. Funnily enough, her colour pallet actually fit the shiny pallet quite nicely

EdMay Day 20: EdMew

I got the illusion Pokémon, so why not the actual shape shifting pokemon that knows Transform! I never realized how much mew reminds me of a sphinx cat, they so cute

EdMay Day 21: EdKnonu

For those who remember from waaay back on my insta and amino days, I made an original species called Knonus. They’re inspired by the Pokémon Zoroark so I figured I’d revisit them. I’ve been meaning to update them, I had a whole new species sheet I was working on but I never released it for some reason.

EdMay Day 22: Edmimikyu
