Your post made me fall into thinking, and I have to stick to my own theory. Thought I'd share it with y'all.

I think the reason Jake abandons us is because the FBI are now hot in his heels. He had a little amount of time to delete all of our Duskwood friends' contacts and probably block the possibility for them to reach out to us, quickly and permanently delete everything we discovered during the investigation. I don't know how, I suck at technology, but probably pulled out some I'm-a-hacker move.

And let's not forget about Nymos. Did Jake ever mention that he stopped the program? I don't think so. And I really hope Everbyte remembers this small detail as well. Maybe Nymos will show up in Moonvale for us, blocking possible attacks. Because, let's be honest: this is the FBI we're talking about, they have more hackers than our group had. [But only we had Jake ;)]

This way, he can assure that no traces will lead the FBI and police to us. Which is, if we think about it, very thoughtful, however, we didn't work that much together with the others for him to just cut us off.

We can never be so sure, let's hope this circa two months will pass under a blink of an eye.

The new thing I found out today is: that Jake was always a manipulator and abandons us in Moonvale (which according to what I have read, Jake stops talking to us when that is not the case, but the messages disappear)

Keep Jake away from the MCs who doubt him and only care about his beauty, the poor guy at this rate is going to be called a murderer 😭
