Eye Lady Idea Dumps: The Buried = Permanent Ochre Production?
Okay campers
(I need a name for you guys geez louise. Little watchers?)
I forgot to finish the Ivy art and its nearly 1am so instead I repay you with a brain dump.
Rationale
Okay so apparently besides fears of being buried, crushed, suffocated etc, and having ties to Geomancy in general, one of the things The Buried apparently works on is 'being at the centre of everything and it is all pushing down.' (Source: The Buried's wikia page) Not only did this smack me square in the gut and leave me silently questioning my own ideas on what Entity would get me (or more what besides The Eye would get me), but now I have a fun idea;
Buried Avatar Idea
Art student from a prestigious art school who got in on scholarship. They are terrified of getting kicked out if they are not 'good enough', so they pour their heart and soul into every art. Their parents wanted them to go into a 'stable career', and pressure them when they come home to switch degrees (they never do). Their friends are more extroverted and successful compared to them, and the social games are wearing on their soul. They fear one slip up will bring it all crashing down, and they will have to return to their parents and 'let them win'
They have a mental breakdown and drive to a nearby forestry known for its deep caves and dense forests.
The art student encounters The Buried in their trek, and despite their fear, they choose to embrace the suffocating feeling of being trapped within it, Becoming. They emerge from the caves with a renewed love for the natural world, and confidence within themselves that with their newfound power, they can prevent the collapse of their new life. Their powers become focused on ochre pigment, committing a Barbie 'Rapunzel' and make paintings that take them places. These paintings eclipse anyone else's with their beauty and intricacies, gaining them more scholarships and even a place in an art gallery. Unbeknownst to all, they get Buried juice by using these artworks to bring the experience of The Buried to those who gaze upon them for too long, taking them to the cave they Became in an attempt to help others just as stressed as they were break free from their fear... in a sense. Yet, five years later with a successful art career, they struggle with the idea of someone finding out about their new power and destroying all they had worked for, thus drawing the attention of a student from a new graduate from a Law school, and an international student who happens upon their most powerful painting in a museum... ...actually, I kinda like this brain wave. I have an idea-

The Vast: A really bad storm when I was 6 where I was the only one in the house, hiding in my room as a tree that had lived for many years was felled in nearly an instant. There has never been a storm that intense in my area since, and I will never forget that storm.
The Dark: One of many power outages plunging a rural household into complete darkness likely did it. No light = no sleep. It feels wrong. No dream juice.
The Buried & The Lonely: Gifted Kid burnout ('everything crashing down around you' clause on The Buried's side).
The Eye: Literally cannot survive a situation without needing to know what's happening, me mind so distracted. If I find something interesting, I'm all in. ADHD moment. [Other spooky Dex lore]
The Stranger: Anxiety core. Identity crisis. Normal stuff.
The Spiral: ...look at me. I draw Eyes for stress relief. (Okay in all seriousness its likely same reason as Buried/Lonely or the Stranger. Also ADHD moment)
The Slaughter, The Hunt & The Web: Same source, shall not elaborate. Web could also be Anxiety core.
Absent
The Corruption: ...I live in Australia. You get used to it.
The Desolation: We may have bushfires, but i personally haven't been that badly hurt by them.
The Extinction: I don't think it's gonna get that bad.
The End: no experiences focused around death (yet).
The Flesh: Idk never really focused on it long enough.

Okay so like being serious here; what's with everyone assigning Monster Johnathan Sims into being a Moth? Why can't he be an owl?
This has bugged me an inordinate amount and in true Eye Lady fashion, I'm gonna try to prove my propaganda ideation has merit (and also unravel this bloody mess).

Owl symbolism in the Magnus Institute's logo
Owls (mainly the Little Owl) are associated with the Greek Goddess Athena (Goddess of Wisdom, Warfare and Handicrafts), and the Eye is a Wisdom-based Entity fragment.
Being an Owl (Athena) puts them at odds with Spider (Arachne), thus being reflective of the Eye (Watching) and Web (Acting) mindsets.
Harpy John! Like, hello???? Bird wings??? Being a big floofy owl creature like Eda Clawthorne from The Owl House????
Owls blink super quickly so like, metaphor for not being able to close eyes?

Its a subconscious determination and not so much a role decided.
John chose a moth because (insert Points for MothJohn regarding episodes).
Jonah probably would have picked an owl because anything vaguely insinuating a gods involvement sounds about right to him.
If Gerry were alive and had a choice/wanted to I see him picking a Raven probably. Or an Owl. Or nothing.
Rosie as a cat feels pretty cute but realistically I think she'd be a moth just cause of her feelings on being trapped by Elias/Jonah

Serapeum Archivist should be a Sphinx or an Owl Harpy because of how corrupted they are. Moth would work but uh... idk I like the Serapeum Archivist too much.

Eye Lady Yearns to Draw
...but Eye Lady forgot that she has assignments and packing for a week in hometown so I'm just copingTM.

On the upside I built like three little gunpla yesterday on a friend hang out so like, I'm not completely crazy yet. We also played 'assign the TMA Entity' to Supernatural episodes which was kinda fun lmao
Update [7:09pm]: I have 4 hrs left and 0 focus. Not even Coffeezilla can save me. Not even LegalEagle. Not even SomeOrdinaryGamer. Not even friendlyjordies. I am in pain.
Update [10:38pm]: 1 1/2 hrs left, made some progress, know im gonna fail. I just hope I can ramble my intentions well enough in a blog.

The Eye Lady Updates
I am trapped in my hometown until Sunday, so my own posts are either going to be chat form or some photos from places I end up going.
You heard right, random Watchling, you're getting some Australian nature in your feed!
I will still try to find time to upload the eyes I do have finished, but for now, I highly suggest looking at Chapter 2 of "The Burning of Mr Spider". I'm having some trouble figuring out how to post JUST chapter 2's link but we'll see.
Anywho wish me/the Eye Lady luck; I'm gonna be away from my "Archives" and it's gonna hurt.

Slime Rancher x TMA?
Okay but seriously, imagine if Jon and Martin commit MAG 200 and just end up on Slime Rancher's Far Far Range. What then?

How It Would Work
Mistaken Identity as their alt selves or assuming the lives of their alt selves as they have completely replaced them
They both have separate farms on the Far, Far Range on opposite ends, and don't know where the other exactly is (they both think they're on distant islands to each other lol).
Martin becomes very adept with Slime wrangling in particular, but still remains an effective slime rancher in the ways of taking care of them. He adopts a particular Tabby (unbeknownst to him an escapee from Jon's ranch) and calls it 'Merry', and Merry stays by his side at all times.
Jon is very particular about only owning docile slimes like Pinks, Tabbies and Puddles, with a lot of his slimes being mixes with Tabbies because cats. He makes a sole exception for ONE Crystal-Tabby that he calls 'Calcite', who becomes a bit of a ranch defender Largo. It is so picky about what it eats or absorbs that there is zero risk for him to become a Tarr.
Jmart end up finding each other when Jon goes chasing after a Tabby-Phosphor with Calcite in an attempt to get it somewhere dark before daylight. Both are overjoyed to see each other obviously and immediately work together.
They have a teleporter between their ranches and help each other out with random tasks. They obvs can't combine ranches now, but they do lots of sleepovers at each other's ranches lmao,
Jon ends up going into Slime Sciences because duh of course he would lmao. He's the reason both farms have cannons to repel Tarr slimes.
They get therapy before even so much as thinking about advancing their relationship further because holy hell these dudes need it. (Therapy is already in swing at the start btw, I'm not delaying their roads to mental stability)

Relationships with Canon Slime Rancher Characters
Martin is the one who usually deals with Slime Market stuff because people like BOb exist.
Martin befriends Thora easier than anyone else due to her kindly nature. Let's give the man a nice older lady figure in his life to be a mentor.
Jon become notably friendly with Viktor Humphries, and they collaborate often since Jon has Martin and his own interest in slime collection to help him.
Both find Mochi a bit like Melanie at first, but warm up to her when they start to learn more about her (both can relate to strained relationships w/parental figures, especially Martin).
Both find BOb complexing and typically try to keep conversations curt lol.
Obvs because I'm not replacing Beatrix, they do meet her and are pretty neutral to her. Nothing extraordinary and nothing unextraordinary since Beatrix is more a proxy for the player so I can't gauge much on how she'd be without our interference.
Ogden & Hobson are also a neutral relationship but that's just because I can't think on how either of them and Jmart would work lol.
Likely Queries
Fears When?: No Fears in the Slime Rancher universe because I say so. The Fears just don't have influence here anymore haha. That means Jonah Magnus stays deceased.
How is Jon not like, barely sane or whatever (referencing the 'how much of me is the Eye stuff')?: Well, they did merge/overwrite their Slime universe counterpart so like... e.
Does Jmart retain Fear powers?: No. Maybe. I'm not sure tbh I think if anything it'd be subtle things. EG: Jon being able to identify certain things changed in an area or have a better grip on understanding body language. EG2: Martin being less noticeable when he wants to be or just having a bit of cold resistance.
Why can't they move in together?: Because I doubt the 7Zee Corp would be able to find a buyer for either ranch too quickly, but I could be wrong. Idk I like the idea of them having space of their own separate from the other since those dudes need therapy and time to work on themselves.
Do they look like themselves or their alternates?: Alts with the exception of MAG 200 injuries. The Alts just look like their S1 selves lmao.
SlimeRancher!Sasha, SlimeRancher!Georgie & SlimeRancher!Tim? Yes. None would properly notice a difference in Jon because he's more just their Jon with some weird ass baggage attached. Martin would DEFINITELY be something they'd note as 'unusual' but ultimately set it down to 'omg he's matured so fast having to deal with Jon lolol'. Sasha and Tim would be fellow Ranchers on another area nearby and Georgie either stayed on Earth or is a Tarr Wrangler with SlRa!Melanie.
What about the other Magnus people? Not sure, defs think SlRa!Melanie would exist as a Tarr Wrangler w/Georgie. SlRa!Elias would likely be on Earth still and just living his Pre-Eye life lolol. Sl!Ra Gertrude should be a rancher elsewhere that's just died but other than that idk.
Do any other Slime Rancher alts get their other worlds memories? Maybe Georgie and Melanie but only via 'oh wow that was a funky dream haha' since they were in the Panopticon. Elias doesn't count towards this since there was no more Elias by the time of the series' beginning (source: MAG 193).

Spy Kids 4 was Based as Hell
Nobody stop me I'm going on a Spy Kids 4 rant.

Okay so the movie is hot trash in most of its senses but the bit where it shines has to be the 'villain'.
'Danger' literally goofed himself into being FROZEN IN TIME for DECADES because someone wasn't watching him. Great, right? Love OSS bs. But then his dad spends the rest of his natural life trying to break 'Danger' out of the time freeze, literally working himself to death in an attempt to do it.
'Danger' is conscious for all of it. 'Danger' - trapped in the mind of a child - has to watch his father give the rest of his life towards freeing him and fail. 'Danger' is released a decade or so later and his father is dead. Everyone he has ever known is dead. Or old as hell.
So he works for decades in return to get his life together and become head of the OSS. He finds a way to go back to his father and give his father closure and he jumps on it. He tries over and over and over and over to change his fate, to make things work, to reverse it, and it fails.
Then he's told to just enjoy what time he had left.
'Danger' goes back one more time. He sees his father, and he spends the rest of his father's life with him, making amends and everything else. He doesn't try to prolong anything, he doesn't try to break any fates. 'Danger' spends the time they have left, enjoys their shared time, and comes back aged, but content.
He won.
The 'villain' won.
It is deserved.
He undoubtedly goes to jail afterwards, as does all his clones. But 'Danger' got that closure, and no doubt spent the rest of his time just thankful for the chance to be there when his father passed.
He won.

'Danger' D'amo is not a villain to me. 'Danger' is a tragic character fighting against destiny to try and fix the past, or delay his fate, only to realize that the way to 'fix' the past is to just... let it be. Stay with his father. Make sure his father knows the sacrifices were worth it, that 'Danger' grew up into just as much of a genius as his father. That everything he did was so his father could rest easy.
Every time I hear Spy Kids 4 slander, I honestly wonder if people have ever thought about the tragedy of 'Danger' and his entire life. If people looked past the terrible jokes and gags to see the emotional core at the centre of the movie. How both the heroes and the 'villains' learnt a simple lesson.
Enjoy the time you have.
It's a beautiful core to a movie with severe jagged edges. The geode rock from Barbie's Princess and the Pauper if you will. Hard and boring on the outside, beautiful and rich within.
Also the Ricky Gervais dog was not that horrible y'all just over-exaggerating frfr.
This but they obsess over Spy Kids 4's 'villain' and then I can't do any uni work because Premire Pro makes my brain evaporate and the idea of spreading the D'amo gospel is too strong.
