Oh yeah let me post one rn. It was like the third one I ever did, but I hadn't posted it, it's very self indulgent.

6. Which sapient species is your favourite? (I.e. Muds, sligs, Gluks, vykkers etc)
Oktigi, very interesting and beloved parasites. I wish they would get more attention and lore. I want to know more about how they function biologically, socially, in hierarchy, and about their occult practices and their lives.
I like Sekto’s cute skin patterns and I would like to see what other colorations, patterns and features they can have since Glukkons for example have variations. I like the fact that they are parasites, hematofages at that, and that they seemingly can obtain the knowlege from their host and hijack their body. I would like to know to what extent that goes to, can they also feel through that body? Are they only semi aquatic, do they need to go back into water at the end of the day to sleep for example? How do they even find their hosts to begin with? Are there males and females and are they permited to reproduce normally or only when high up in hierarchy? What’s their usual life like, are they bred for a single purpose or do they have a bit more freedom in life choices? Many questions.
Oktigi headcanons
About random things
1. Hematophage (blood sucking) parasites have some useful ways of locating food and I headcanon that Oktigi seek some of these signals instinctively like warmth, that could be potentially cute. They also instinctively grab onto and wrap around things so they are very cuddly for sleepy time (if you're not afraid).
2. They can taste through their suckers like octopuses do, if they touch you with an arm and recoil you need to shower.
3. They need to hidrate as they seem at least partially aquatic so they come back home to do so at the end of the day.
4. I am undecided how they sleep, if they are semi-aquatic they could sleep in something that has water? a water bed?, fountain? a little fancy plate with water?? A small fancy tank?? Just a normal cushioned bed but small???
5. The way they wrap around their host all day unfortunately ends with that host being a drooled on.
6. Let's say you want to pet your nice friendly Oktigi partner to sleep, the best place is all across the top and above the eyes, the sides are risky and more sensitive, do not touch under, like a cat.
7. You need to do them favors of all sorts, they will refuse to do things themselves for as minimal effort as they take, they are lazy, very lazy.
8. They don't like being in their actual bodies away from their hosts for too long as they are naked, defenseless, tiny and rather useless.
9. Host bodies, just like any possesion and property are symbols of status and other Oktigi will judge what and who you're wearing.
10. They live about 80-100 years nowdays. They tend to be unhealthy as anyone in an industrialized society ends up being, but they are healthier than other industrialists since they mainly use up someone else's body more than their own.
11. Reproduction requires way more nutrition and thus a whole lot more blood feeding like in many earth hematophage parasites.
About their diet and feeding
Lorne said they are blood sucking parasites and I have two elaborations on this. They are either obligatory hematophages and they feed their host well enough so that then they can suck their blood right after. Or they are facultative hematophages and aside from blood they can feed on other things, so they do go out to fancy and costly dinners where they eat barely anything anyways.
They would need to feed little amounts but several times to keep themselves from going hungry while not letting that nice host body of theirs simply go anemic and go to waste, also to let time pass between feedings and make them short because I would suppose that as any hematofage they inject anticoagulants and they don't want their host bleeding out on their nice suit and also just dying. But an Oktigi getting greedy with blood and killing their host accidentally does happen, especially to younger ones, for that reason they do switch bodies every now and then, some have quite a few different ones.
About their parasitism
We see Sekto hijack the motor functions of his host and move fluidly as if natively and Lorne said Oktigi obtain the knowledge of their host so unlike mind controlling parasites from earth that control would technically come from something beyond enzimatic and hormonal control, knowledge and memory are simply firing patterns in the neuronal array so that's electrical synapsis and to control the body of the host that well he'd have to in fact hijack the central nervous system and everything and control the celular signaling pathways of all systems, so my headcannon is that Sekto would have to have an organ or appendage inside his "maw" that can penetrate and connect "like a usb port" to the brain of the host and inside it there would be an extension of his neurons (think of how neurons extend across an irl octopus arms) and that would incredibly only theoretically pass signals from one to the other as in a single network (let's ignore morphology and everything esle entirely).
Now the true sci-fi comes in and all I can say is that to me it works like in Avatar where the blue people have those weird tendrils that they can interconnect with eachother and other creatures and thus make a "bond" across their minds to the extent that one can feel and perceive through the other in a bizarre mind melding way, I remember @ohfugecannada theorizing about a peaceful symbiotic shared state of consciousness between the Oktigi and host that is born out of a lot of trust and it seems to me that's possible this way, that would be a very bizarre and intimate thing to experience, very interesting. But most Oktigi aren't about that life, I don't know if they are biologically obligate parasites or facultative ones but as a sapient species at least they are socially required to if they want to stand a chance in life, so that connection would somehow include a mechanism that can suppress the host's mind, how? Idk tbh but I guess it would be like when you inhibit the receptors that affect certain areas of the brain and sort of shut them down, but you would need most to still be active at least partially control it. All this on a living organism, I saw mentioned they can parasite dead ones and there I have no idea because cellular destruction would definitely be an issue since there would be no neural network to work with and no way to transport signals through the bloodstream. Anyways that's my headcannon on how the parasitosis by an Oktigi kinda works, there is 0% need to explain this but i like theorizing.
About their reproduction and life cycle
They're the kind of parasite that doesn't go through change of phases in their life cycle, they are born like that and just grow with age. They lay eggs and there's many of them but few make it since the start. There isn't much of a parental care whatsoever and they're less social than Glukkons. I don't see them as a superspecies but idk Lorne loves those. They have dioecy but between females and males there's little to no sexual dymorphism.

Yo who is Sektos uhh business associate
Oh he's just an OC, I like how Oktigi look and I wish we got to see more of them so I made a few for fun, and of course to pair up with Sekto. They don't have names or anything, they're just other rich Oktigi around his same social and economic circle, guys in high positions he meets through associates, parties and gatherings. Lorne doesn't give me more Oktigi to ship Sekto with so I had to make my own and come up with stuff myself >:[
This guy is a succesful C level executive who's also an avid and luckily smart investor. Unfortunately he invested in Sekto Springs Bottled Water Company which didn't turn out so well in the end.
And this guy is the owner of not only his own but also a couple of other big livestock companies and cattle farms. He also likes poaching.
Do Oktigis shower/clean their host?
Do Oktigis mantain good hygiene if any at all of their hosts? Or do they walk around wearing wealth and glamour on top of sickly decaying bodies that reek of grime and rot? I Like both ideas because the first one is funny and pretty decent but the second one is way better thematically, maybe both are true and it depends on the Oktigi and maybe how much they like a particular host even. But I love the idea of Oktigis being wealthy yet very disgusting little things.
The old Steef Sekto is implied to have been using as host for at least a good several years looks to be in an awful condition in the end, and I don’t think age is the sole cause. Sekto seems to be pretty cruel and very much a sadist just for the sake of it, especially towards Steef for whatever reason, so I would expect him to keep this poor old Steef in the worst condition possible just to really deepen this guy’s agony, but that would mean he not only would constantly stink but he would also be actively sitting on and basically putting in his mouth the nastiest thing ever just for the sake of being an a**hole, and I would love that level of pettiness for him. But then maybe Sekto does have limits and the old Steef looks so f***ed up because he’s obviously sickly from having a huge parasite feeding on his blood for years, but in the end Sekto does keep him clean so he doesn’t disgust him too much, and in either case the grossest thing is Sekto probably drooling all over this poor man all day and maybe drooling a bit of blood too when he feeds. Maybe he does get in the shower/bathtub and comes out wearing a clean fluffy Steef host. I wonder if then he sleeps with a host “on”, imagine wearing a whole person to bed like it’s a warm pajamas, or maybe he just puts the poor man in a freezer for the night, I don’t know if any option is especially better.
If Secto had to leave his hosts body for anything (maybe a lil swim or something) where do you think he would store the Steef?
Do you think he'd have back up hosts incase the other escaped? I feel like he would idk.
This will be a long answer, I tried my best to rewrite it as concisely as possible. TW for abuse under the cut.*
OKTIGI HOST STORAGE. I remember Lorne stating in one of the Discodd chat podcasts that when Oktigis attend meetings at bathouses to discuss businesss and Magog Cartel matters, they get off their hosts and basically leave them in cryogenic storage, that much is canon at least in the podcasts. So I imagine Sekto, like other wealthy Oktigis, having his own cryogenic chambers for storing hosts in a similar way rich people have those fancy big closets. I imagine these storage units being a bit diverse, it's basically just more furniture to them. Some of these units could be singular pods, some may span a whole room, some may not be cryogenic and instead opt for suspension. The usage I imagine consists of the Oktigi entering the open chamber and leaving the host in there undressed and in a dazed state, then removing themselves from the host with the help of the unit's mechanism such as simply hoping onto a waiting platform, the chamber would then close and begin a temperature descent util it reaches the cryogenic effect without killing and while monitoring vitals and helping mantain functions, it would probably need to be adjusted per species or selected from a set catalogue. You can now find a drawing of this on my blog after this post.
BACKUP HOSTS. I do indeed think that is very common, especially with wealthier Oktigis, to have more than one host to choose from or as a backup, as well as there being a market to buy them and the practice to discard them, as one would do with outfits, Oktigis can have preferences and types they search after and they probably judge and compare eachother's hosts too, maybe Mike over there looks like a wimp compared to how big and strong Dave looks with his huge chad alpha male new host, maybe Becky is jealous that Maddie's host has huge bimbo bazongas, maybe Henry wants to have a secondary host with bazongas too. I do also think that Oktigis do have favorite and main hosts whenever they have many and that they have different preferences and behaviors towards them; some Oktigis could keep their hosts well groomed and healthy while others completely neglect and maim them, some may see them as no more than mere objects, or pets or form one sided bonds with them that could go from just a little endearment like a favorite shirt to romantic and lustful feelings or all the way to making them their main victim of abuse which I will elaborate on further in the case of Sekto because I think it's probably what he did
SEKTO AND THE OLDEN STEEF HOST. Going back to Sekto I would imagine that he does have or at least has had a couple of hosts to spare at the same time, he has the means for it, however I personally think that he is one of those Oktigis that have gotten too attached to a specific host, I say this because as far as I understand he has had the Old Steef as a host for quite a long while and that poor man is in such bad condition that he even looks to be blind and dying since a while ago, even if Sekto likes the build and strenght Steef have he had an ample supply of younger more suitable and healthy ones but he chose to keep this one who is specifically referred to as old even before he was his, to me it looks like that host just hasn't had any rest from being used since the beginning...

...and judging by what little is shown about Sekto throughout his limited screentime it would seem fitting, Sekto seems intensely and needlessly cruel, sadistic, hateful and vengeful, especially against this species. I personally think that Sekto took this Steef who seems to have been the local protector or leader of his local people and posibbly the biggest symbol of hope they had and really wanted to drive that cruelty in by turning him into nothing but a helpless and pityful victim, forcing his voice and his hands to directly be part of all the orders and actions that would direct the genocide of his people and the Grubbs as well as the stealing of the water and the lands he once protected. I like this idea because it would add much more weight to both Sekto and the Steef as characters as well as their relationship and background in the story, and of course to the ending where not only the water is free but so is the Olden Steef too. To me it would seem that Sekto hasn't made much use of other hosts ever since this one because of that, I personally imagine that he has formed a very strong negative attachment like this because he just seems to be fucked up like that and clearly obsessed with Steef, let alone this little living prize of his, he probably intended to terrorize, torture and violate the Olden Steef mentally and phisically as well as symbolically until he gave his very last breath, and he was almost able to. And I love that for them honestly, that's fucked up and tragic, that adds so much more to them and I enjoy it, gives me the feelz.

Music is the main factor that inspires the colors, lighting and overall vibe of anything I draw, sometimes the drawing entirely, so it does play a big role. I could edit some older posts retroactively too, I remember some old ones.
I don't know, it could be an extra, it's like adding a fun fact I suppose.
