Dark Matter Five - Tumblr Posts
Dark Matter AU where Five’s sister survives the attack, but can’t get to her for AWHILE.
Five: who tf are you!?
Mini Five: I’m you, but less angsty.
I’m just remembering that in Dark Matter (SPOILERS) part of Five’s backstory is literally just The Raza deciding if they want to keep her.
She’s not a puppy????????
My current thoughts are basically on songs like:
Apex Predator (Mean Girls), Candy Store (Heathers), Be More Chill (Both parts, from the musical by the same name lol), etc
And like AUs with them because small/weak characters having to change their personality so people protect/just don’t kill them HURTS???
Like, weaker/younger characters being forced to change the way they act, look, etc in order to ‘fit in’ and be protected while an older/stronger character encourages it and even threatens them as a way to keep them doing it.
Like picture Player from CS having to keep his head down and obey orders while acting like everything is fine, like he’s totally a normal VILE operative just so people don’t find out he’s not??? Because the faculty loves mind games (“What’s wrong with you?! Why can’t you just be normal?!”)
Or, Hover from My Pride being lectured about why prideless lions are useless, disgusting, and all of those apply to her unless she obeys Pride Law?? (“You are not Hover anymore, Long Run!”)
Or, (spoilers for Dark Matter here) Daz losing literally everyone and everything and then having to act just right and listen to everything because she’s stuck on a space ship with total strangers who have no problems with killing her at a moment’s notice. (“Welcome, Little Warrior.”)
Or, and using OCs from ATF here: Descendants having to learn to keep everything ‘off’ or ‘not normal’ about them hidden because if they don’t neither of their people will want them near, alive or dead. (“Wait! Wait! Look, he’s like us, right? So you have to let him live, right?!”)
Ranting about my comfort characters being friends because I’m sad
Varian and Player going off on rants about Alchemy and Hackology while Five pips in whenever she can and their friends watch on shook because “YOU GUYS CAN UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER???”
Varian and Player don’t know how to fight, Five tries to teach them. It ends terribly and with threats of blackmail from AT LEAST two of them.
Player teaching Varian his version of modern tech, and Five teaching them both her version.
Five and Player getting into hacker wars so bad their friends have to physically stop them because “YOU GUYS ARE CRASHING OUR DEFENCES!”
Five just kinda... steals Ruddiger whenever Varian isn’t looking because he’s soft and fluffy and nice.
Five casually mentions she’s killed a few people and Varian pipes up like “Oh! Yeah I’ve tried... didn’t really work out.” And Player just STARES for a solid hour.
Similarly, Varian and Five listing their crimes and Player just sits there dumbfounded because none of his crimes ever hurt someone???
*clears throat*
Let Player take a nap.
Let Varian have his five weeks of solitude.
Let Five be a proper member of the team.
This has been an announcement by yours truly.
Carmen Sandiego and Dark Matter crossover where Player and Five are just running around the Raza putting out literal fires and trying to keep things from exploding.
Meanwhile, Team Red and the rest of the Raza are literally threatening anyone and everyone because they can’t find their kids
I’m bored so here’s how Team Red VS The Raza Crew would go:
Spoilers ofc
Player would probably get the upper hand over ONLY Five IF he had a gun and she didn’t. but considering how she’s trained and he isn’t, in any other situation Player would lose to her or anyone else.
That being said: both Player and Five are expert hackers and it’s doubtful Player wouldn’t try to talk, escape, or otherwise avoid a physical fight.
Basically: It’s unlikely Player would win a one-on-one fight, as only Five is close to his skill level with fighting. But, him and Five doing a whole hacker-war thing would put them on equal ground and skill levels. (Even if you add up that they’re technologies wouldn’t line up exactly.)
Ivy and Zack could probably take down One or Six if they worked together, but they’d have to take into consideration the fact that The Raza carries guns, but they don’t. Which means they’ll probably be being shot at, but they COULD overpower certain members of The Raza.
Next up: the ninjas. Shadowsan and Four are probably on equal ground skill wise from what we’ve seen in their respective shows. However, one key difference would make the fight more difficult: Four would most likely be aiming to kill, Shadowsan wouldn’t.
Despite this, I think they’d end up in a stalemate until either one of them can get the upper hand, or somebody’s teammates steps in. I can’t quite consider either of them winning, but I think Four might.
Two VS Carmen would be... a struggle. Carmen’s had an entire lives worth of training, but Two isn’t a human, she’s artificial. Because of this, I don’t think Carmen would be able to win a fight against her, but she would be able to put up a good fight.
In conclusion: The Raza would most likely win, mostly due to everyone’s training compared to that of Team Red’s members.
Team Red would also be at two other major disadvantages:
1. They don’t have guns, but it’s confirmed that The Raza’s crew almost always has guns on their person at all times.
2. The crew of the Raza would be most likely aiming to kill, Team Red wouldn’t.
That being said, if they could figure out a solid game plan, Team Red could probably get the upper hand. But, logically, Carmen and Two would most likely talk things out as their respective team leaders before letting it came to blows.
*Offers you a Dark Matter Airlock Scene fanfiction* Summary:
“You can’t do this!” Daz screams, fighting and writhing in the man’s grip.
It’s no use, the man is strong. Powerful. Even on a good day, when she isn’t exhausted from sneaking around and playing stowaway to save her and TJ, she’d still be nearly half his size, probably weighs even less. It’s almost too easy for him to pull her up by her arm, dragging her forward roughly against her will.
“Sure, I can!” The man with the scars laughs, as though this is some kind of sick little playdate. Daz’s stomach drops. “I’m barely breaking a sweat here!”

Alternatively; The airlock scene, except Kal follows through on protecting the little girl.
