And then, she turns and runs away from him.
Summary
Three years ago, Blair was told to chose between Chuck and Dan. She chose Chuck and let Dan get away. Her relationship with Chuck quickly crumbled and she couldn’t stand to face her failed relationships anymore so she fled to Paris and started a masters program at the American University of Paris. She’s happy with leaving the past behind, certain that she will never see Dan again. Until suddenly, he’s there on her campus making her face the feelings she worked so hard to push aside.

I’ve seen you compare the relationship between Chuck/Blair and Dan/Blair. But can you do one for Dan/Serena and Dan/Blair? I always felt like Dan and Serena made more sense cause they always loved each other, while Dan and Blair were much better as friends.
Well I mean, I obviously disagree with you about Dan and Blair being much better as friends and the reasons for that don’t change simply because it’s in comparison to Dan and Serena, like I have been very consistent about what it is about Dan and Blair that I like.
My issue with Dan and Serena, which I have actually spoken about many times, is that I didn’t believe them outside of high school, I found their relationship to have peaked in season one
and their angst to have peaked in season 2
that they just got tiring and repetitive and predictable after that
Nothing about their dynamic added anymore dimension and nuance to either character post season 2 because I didn’t feel like the writers had anything else and/or left to give them.
As I have kept mentioning, Dan and Blair got something from each other that they didn’t get from their respective relationships with Chuck or Serena.
Basically, I think Dan and Serena were cute and believable and made sense in high school but as adults, Dan and Blair were more suited to each other, it’s just that you take those reasons and confine them to platonic affection whereas I don’t.
