The Wolf and Her Human Pup
I think its finally time to talk about Sif and Lucette’s relationship. Prepare for wholesomeness.
-Sif was the one who found Lucette in the forest when she was 7. As Lucette was injured and just barely coming back to consciousness, she laid down next to her and howled for Artorias. When the giant knight appeared, Lucette, already frightened and confused, started to cry from fear. It was only when Sif shown her that Artorias was safe and meant no harm that Lucette allowed to come near her.
-Before she began to trust Artorias, Lucette trusted Sif first. When walking, she would stay on one side of Sif, keeping her between herself and Artorias. At night, she would curl up near Sif. Admittedly, this wasn’t a good arrangement because anytime Sif stiffened up in alert, it would startle Lucette awake and she would end up getting little sleep. Very unhealthy.
-After a while of traveling together, Lucette started to put more and more trust in Artorias. And alongside that, her faith in Sif also increased. Due to her small size, she would sometimes ride on Sif whenever she got tired while walking and would play with her in rivers and streams.
-Whenever the group passed through towns, Sif, as instructed by Artorias, kept close to Lucette and steered her away from unsafe areas. Lucette made sure to never stray far from Sif. Any suspicious person that drew too near were quickly warned away with a deep growl.
-When they arrived in Anor Londo, Lucette held onto Sif’s fur as they walked through the palace, into the throne room. Sif served as a source of comfort and gave Lucette a sense of protection and familiarity in the strange unfamiliar place during a very uncomfortable moment. When she was introduced to the entire court as Artorias’ daughter, the increased tension in the room caused Sif to go into alert mode and growl softly, daring anyone to try to hurt her. This made it clear that Artorias meant what he said and said what he meant.
- Sif is Lucette’s unofficial babysitter when Artorias is away or just not around to keep an eye on her. And she is perfect for the job. If Lucette is hungry, she’ll quickly make her way to the kitchens and return with something for Lucette to eat. As a thank you, Lucette usually shares half of her meal with her (if its safe for wolves). It quickly became commonplace for servants and courtiers to see the two sitting in a spot around the castle, sharing a meal.
-To add onto the reason why Sif is the perfect babysitter, she, just like her master, is very protective of Lucette. Anyone that dares to raise a hand against her will receive teeth and claws. This especially applies when Lucette is pregnant. Depending on Lucette’s mood and your relationship status with her, Sif will growl at you if you try to touch her stomach.
-Speaking of pregnancy, Sif gets Auntie status.
-During the suitor ritual, Sif sits nexts to Artorias and adds to his intimidation factor. If she senses ill intentions, she will growl in warning. Once, one of the suitors who refused to kneel for Artorias’ blessing for marriage, dared to speak ill of Lucette in front of him. With just a split second of eye contact from Artorias, Sif mauled him.
-When she was first introduced to Koray, as Lucette’s bf, she was wary at first, as not many of Lucette’s lovers liked Sif. Most feared her. Koray, though nervous, did not. He knew from the stories Lucette told him, that Sif was very intelligent and could sniff out lies. So respectfully, he greeted her as he would another person, bowing to her and, much to Lucette’s surprise, crouching down to let her sniff his face. Both were very relieved when Sif licked his face, approving him.
-When the two got married, Sif was the ring bearer. And Lucette made sure to save a dance with her. And Lucette makes a flower for her to wear for the special occasion.
-Whenever Lucette’s children are born, Sif always sniffs and licks them as a greeting to the world. Sif is very protective of all the babies and will not hesitate to maul anyone who tries to hurt or take them. Try it. She dares you. Let’s see how fast you can run from a wolf.
Lucette @ God Kin children who try to pick on her for being small

A funny head canon I have is that Lucette’s kids aren’t afraid of Ornstein like other kids. And she has no idea why.
Somehow, the kids just see Ornstein as a super strict uncle and keep it moving.
Anytime they see Ornstein: “Hi Uncle Ornstein!”
Literally everyone else:???????????????
Lucette: Why do you all call Captain Ornstein, Uncle Ornstein? Kids: Because he is Uncle Ornstein
Lucette: Okay...but why?
Kids: Because he is!

Like just imagine
Lucette as a kid: *Is terrified of Ornstein and always runs away and hides behind Artorias when he’s around, watches him from a distance*
Lucette’s kids: N E Ways, Uncle Ornstein! Aiyla says Sunflowers are your favorite flowers but that’s obviously wrong! It’s Camellias! It has to be! Teodora and Grandpapa says it’s Roses but I don’t believe them.
Ornstein and Artorias: Arguing
Lucette: Good grief, can you two kiss already and stop this strange flirting method?
The Love of the Wolves
“Mommy!” Lucette startled at the cry that echoed through the halls, looking up curiously from the book she had been reading.
Who on earth said that?
Her question was answered by the sound of pattering little feet, followed by the appearance of a dark skinned toddler dressed in blue colored clothing running into her room. She smiled in motherly affection at his appearance, setting aside her book to welcome, Idmaer, one of her firstborn sons. Though, it was strange to see him without his twin brother at his side. This was all forgotten at the sight of his face streaked with tears, sending a wave of concern through her.
“Sweetling? What’s wrong?”
Without hesitation, Idmaer climbed into his mother’s lap, tucking his face under her chin as he sniffled.
“Auntie Sif growled at me!”
Fighting against the instinctive parental alarm, Lucette wrapped her arms around her child, frowning in confusion. Sif rarely growled at anyone, unless they had ill intentions. Especially not at the boys. She lets them get away with almost everything. If she growled at Idmaer, it meant he did something that caused her harm.
“Well, what did you do?” She asked gently, stroking his braided hair. Idmaer’s chubby face frowned up at her, pouting.
“Nothing!”
Lucette tilted her head forward as she raised a single eyebrow with a knowing look in her eyes. She knows her son. She knows how he can get when he’s overly excited and focused on play. At his mother’s gentle scolding look, the little boy sighed and poured more.
“I pulled her tail.”
Yup, that would do it. No animal likes having their tail pulled.
“Why did you do that?”
“I didn’t mean to! I was trying to get a stick out of her fur!”
Lucette figured he didn’t do it completely on purpose. But children were rough and clumsy and aren’t known for having fine delicate hand eye coordination.
“Did you tell her that you were going to do that before you did it?”
When Idmaer looked away, she knew the answer was no. He thought of an idea and yet did it.
“That was very mean, Idmaer. You shouldn’t have done that. How would you like it if I just walked up to you and pulled your hair?”
Ashamed, her son bowed his head, looking morosely at his feet.
“Sad. And mad.”
“Exactly.”
“But why did she growl at me?!” He questioned, looking to his mother for answers.
“Sif growled at you as a way to tell you that you were hurting her. She cannot speak, Sweetling. So she has to show you in a way that would make you stop.” She explained gently. She let her son sit in silence for a bit as he thought about it, his nose scrunching up in a manner she knew meant he was thinking hard.
“I wasn’t being very nice, Mommy.”
“No, you were not.” At the soft scolding, tears welled up in her son’s blue eyes, an exact replica of her own pair.
“Auntie Sif mad at me?”
“Oh Sweetling, Auntie Sif can never be mad at you. Neither you or Leofred. She loves you far too much to do so. But you did hurt her and she deserves an apology.”
Her son nodded his head in agreement, climbing down from his mother’s lap and holding her hand tightly as they walked to the playroom where the children and Sif had been playing, wiping some of his tears on the soft fabric of her dress. They enter to the scene of a sleeping Leofred propped up against the wall with a book open on his lap, ontop of Sif’s head. The wolf, who had been lightly dozing with her head on the child’s lap as the boy had been reading, perked up at Lucette and Idmaer’s arrival, tail wagging. Smiling at the adorable scene, Lucette led Idmaer a few feet away from Sif.
“Sif, Idmaer has something to say to you. Idmaer, what do you say to Auntie Sif?” Sif, interested, rose up from her spot on Leofred’s lap and trotted over to Idmaer, staring at him inquisitively. Idmaer sniffled, wiping his face a hand as he quietly apologized.
“I’m sorry I pulled your tail, Auntie Sif. I didn’t mean to do it.” Sif sniffed at Idmaer’s face, intelligent bright eyes scanning over the tiny child, before gently licking at the tear streaks on his face, showing her forgiveness of the childish mistake. Idmaer giggled at the ticklish sensation and soon was laughing and squealing loudly as Sif licked his face harder, tail wagging as she hopped around.
Now holding a sleeping Leofred in her arms, Lucette smiled at the heartwarming scene, heart full. Bending down, she placed a kiss on Idmaer’s head (as that was the only spot that wasn’t covered in wolf slobber) and scratched behind one of Sif’s ears before leaving the playroom, the sound of laugher and barks echoing in the hallways behind her as she carried her son to his room for a nap.
The End
A family isn’t always a mom, a dad, and two kids
Sometimes its a tall nonhuman knight, his very intelligent wolf, and a little orphaned girl
While I work on this list about the grandkiddies, just know that Teodora is an artist and she loves painting and sketching flowers and Feray (her younger sister) gets first dibs on the finished product and keeps them in her room.
And she will bite you if you try to tear them down.
There has been times when Lucette catches Artorias trying to sneak someone into his room or someone out of his room.
The Six Children of Lucette and Koray
(Also known as the Six Grandchildren of Artorias)
Leofred - Technically the eldest child out of litter, having been born 5 minutes before Idmaer, Leofred is the stern faced, exasperated twin brother of Idmaer. He finds his brother’s tricks and pranks tiresome and annoying but is always willing to lend a helping hand to him if needed and will gladly lie his brother out of trouble. Leofred has a relative short amount of patience for anyone outside close friends and family, but amount endless for his family. Underneath his feelings of exasperation at his brother, Leofred holds a secret sort of pride at how cunning Idmaer is and is always quick to correct him whenever he made jokes about Leofred being the “smart twin”. He does not tolerate any of siblings putting themselves down, even as jokes. That’s his job.
Idmaer - The particularly troublesome prankster out of the litter and the twin brother of Leofred. Unlike his more quiet and stern brother, Idmaer always has a grin on his face and a mischievous look in his eye. He uses his cunning mind for tricks and pranks on unsuspecting courtiers and knights and always enjoys the chaos his actions cause. Though, not so much the lecture and scolding and groundings his mother gives. He loves teasing and messing around but when night falls, enjoys listening to his brother tell him about what he read during the day. As a sort of bedtime story type thing. He will interrupt and comment his thoughts but will allow his brother to continue. He secretly looks up to Leofred, feeling a brotherly pride at how smart his twin brother is.
Teodora - Teodora is a sweet and adventurous girl who loves exploring the castle and other places, sometimes into places she shouldn’t be. She inherited her mother’s endless curiosity and never shies away from asking questions. If she wasn’t given an adequate answer, she will search for it herself. She is usually the one to catch her older brothers’ mid prank and will gladly hold it over their heads to not tell mom in order to get them to do her chores. She is a very art oriented person who loves painting, sketching, and embroidery. Her favored subjects of such are usually flowers and plants, especially from her mother's garden. She could usually be found painting or sketching in the garden
Aiyla - Aiyla is a very active and prideful young girl who enjoys sports and competitions. She inherited her mother’s competitiveness and always does her best to win (through fair means). Many would say she inherited her grandfather’s pride. She does not tolerate being talked down to and will not hesitate throw hands with someone, no matter how big they were. She does not tolerate bullies and has no problem bashing some heads together. She is also very defensive of her older and younger siblings, often being compared to the wolf that is the symbol of their family. She loves the trips to the Royal Wood, often racing ahead on her horse against her brothers and climbing trees with her grandfather. She will sometimes lend a helping hand to her older brothers for their ideas, especially if it involves stair sledding.
Feray - Feray is a sweet and kind little thing. Due to her albinism, she was not allowed to stay out and play in the sun for as long as her siblings and was closely monitored by her family, including her siblings. As the youngest, she was the baby of the family for a long time and thus special privileges were given to her from her older siblings. She developed the same love for animals that her grandfather and mother held and adores flora and fauna and learning about them. She and her older sister, Teodora, can often be found together in the gardens, pointing out new flowers, blooms and arrival of new animal life. As such, Spring is her favorite season. She loves watching Teodora paint and often begs her older sister to give her the finished piece. She usually hangs them on the walls of her room and keeps extra special ones in her drawers. Like all of her family, she loves dancing and going to the Royal Wood to visit Great Grandma Alvina. She also loves music and is gifted with playing the harp, the lyre, and the ocarina. She often plays music for her family during the evening
Lux - Lux is the adopted son of Lucette and Koray and the youngest of the litter. He was found by Lucette in the forest during a birthday trip for one of her children. Lucette, remembering how alone she felt in the big dark forest, alone with no parents before Artorias found her; takes him under her wing. She then discovers that the child is definitely not human. His strange eyes, sharp canines, claws and especially his wolf legs pointed to him being something above a human. He was happily accepted by the family and, when Artorias got over his initial confusion of there suddenly being an extra child he didn’t know about, was embraced warmly by his new grandfather. Lux is selectively mute, preferring to speak only around and to family, never to strangers. Those who try to force him to speak to them get growled at or even a bite at their fingers. After settling into the family, his full personality blooms. He loves doing running around with Aiyla, visiting the forest, and going hunting and tracking animals. Sometimes he’ll even join in on Idmaer’s pranks and makes a good lookout with his heightened senses.
Idmaer seeing baby Teodora’s new tooth grow in: Grandpapa, she’s like Sif now!
Artorias: Those are called canines teeth. We all have them.
Idmaer: We’re all dogs?!
Artorias: All 5 of my grandchildren are in a good mood and have been very well behaved today. They haven’t fought, cried, screamed, pranked, or question once today.
Ornstein: You do not sound pleased with that. Shouldn’t that be good?
Artorias: No. It means they’re up to something. I have never been more scared or on edge in my entire life.

A Dadverse Lucette sketch redraw of another Lucette sketch that I never posted here.
I just finished this today and she looks so…there’s no words to describe it. Gorgeous doesn’t come close. Stunning doesn’t work either. it’s just incomprehensible screaming in my head.
Artorias, you have such goddess of a daughter. I just know you’re super proud.
For Dadverse Lucette, if you don’t mind: What is a secret she has that nobody knows?
OOOOoooo what a beautiful ask to return to
The answer would probably most likely seriously damage her rep in Anor Londo and probably even make Artorias a bit mad or disappointed with her.
Lucette doesn't actually really like the slaughter of dragons and wyverns, drakes, etc. She can tolerate and maybe even enjoy hearing stories of the battles against the Everlasting Dragons, because in the end, those were battles. But hearing about the hunting and purposeful extinction of dragons and destruction of their nests makes her sad and feel ill. She doesn't like it.
(Context for this next bit: I hc that Anor Londo will do gladiator-esque matches between captured wyverns and other draconic creatures and soldiers and other warriors as entertainment. It's seen as a big sport with a lot of risk but warriors who slay the creatures gain a lot of prestige in the eyes of society and wealth. )
Once, when Lucette was around 12 or 13 years old, Artorias took her to the equivalent of the Coliseum to watch a match between a Silver Knight and a wyvern. She absolutely hated it. She tried to stick it out for her dad, but every time the wyvern cried out in pain, it got harder. Until finally she gave up and poor girl just started crying right then and there. Which did cause poor Artorias to panic a bit because Lucette is not the type of child to just randomly burst into tears. So he took her home and never took her back again.
Don't get her started on trophies like their heads and horns and stuff like that. That makes her extremely uncomfortable.
Now as to why she doesn't like this stuff, there are two reasons.
Artorias has always taught her to respect life, even of animals and that they are not inferior to their own.
Her bio parents. When he was alive, Her bio father was in a religion that worshipped fire and that extended to creatures that could create fire. Like dragons. Now for obvious reasons, this religion was heavily looked down upon and had to be kept and practiced in secret. And because kids are historically known for being terrible at keeping secrets, Lucette was never fully inducted or shown this religion. However, her dad did tell her old stories and legends from his religion, so she wasn't completely oblivious. Even though her bio family is long gone, she still remembers the old stories and keeps them close to her chest.
She just can't bring herself to completely and utterly despise dragons and their descendants like the rest of her people do. Lucette fundamentally has a soft and gentle heart. Especially for creatures. Even for the most frightening of beasts.
I do love the development of Artorias’ and Lucette’s relationship. From "tiny child is afraid and nervous around giant nonhuman knight who's been stuck in his duty for so long, that he had temporarily forgotten how to soften himself." to "tiny daughter is allowed to sleep on giant papa's chest when it is cold or she's lonely and giant papa usually ends up in a cuddle pile with tiny daughter and wolf" Found Family, you have never let me down.
There has been a time when Lucette’s children legitimately thought Sif was blood family and that they were part wolf. And anyone that tried to tell them otherwise was very much ignored.
Artorias had to be the one to explain to them that Sif was adopted, just like him. They don’t care tho. Auntie Sif is Auntie Sif.
Thinking about when me and Mal (@wolfdivined) were talking about Artorias getting really mad at Lucette and the one time she has gotten into deep dangerous trouble.
It only happened once, because once was all Lucette needed to know that she had reached her father’s limit and that she never wants to see him like that again.
He had been so angry, that he didn’t even shout. He did not raise his voice. He was cold. That’s when she realized that this was not her Papa, but the Wolf Knight.
