Got a decent start on my Inuyasha pants after an hour of fucking with my stupid machine trying to figure out wtf i was doing wrong! Just gotta add the elastic and hem and that should be it! Lol Thanks to my mama for helping!
Well, I got the fabric I ordered from Joann's a few days ago and it just isn't the right kind of fabric. I need something closer to leather and this is actual fabric. So, imma have to return it. But, I found this fabric instead and ordered it so hopefully in a few days I will have a good fabric!
Another 3 or so hours on Sif's shield. It's actually starting to be recognizable! I've got one more section of detail work to cut out then I have to glue it all down. *whew* I'm getting excited for how good I think this is going to look when I'm done! Fingers crossed it'll be in the next week or so!
Golly gee willakers it took me another 7 hours to get to this point! I'm at approximately 19 1/2 hours working on the shield now. Whew!! Learned some things. Had to make some changes that I wasn't planning on but I think it looks pretty damn good! Still gotta cover the back piece in the fabric, paint this piece and attach the 2, but we're getting there! Feeling accomplished!!
4 1/2 hours working on Lady Sif tonight got me the foam bases for her skirt. At about 24 hours total working on this costume so far... whew!
Another 3 hours tonight! Got the raised foam bits for the skirt cut out as well as the foam bases for the gauntlets! Getting excited!!!!!!
About 2 more hours tonight garnered my gauntlets covered in thibra and shaped. Not perfect. There's some spots I'm not totally happy with but I'm learning. They still look pretty good even if not as good as I would like.
Well, it took me almost 9 hours of total work on this section of the costume, but the main foam parts for the armor pieces are cut out. I know it looks a little off right now but it'll work out after it's all said and done. I've got about 39 hours in on this costume so far and I've got a loooooooooong way to go. Wish me luck!
Another 5 or so hours on Lady Sif tonight. Making ok progress. Got some of the vinyl pieces attached to the foam. This was a new process to me so there are a couple spots I'm not totally happy with but overall not too bad. Plus, I'm learning which is good. I have about 4 1/2 months to get this done. Whew! Wish me luck!!
Four more hours on Lady Sif tonight. Got all the foam pieces for the skirt part glued together and started covering them in the pleather. Almost out of contact cement though so I couldn't finish just yet.
The shield is done!!!!!!!!! The only thing I still have to do on it is attach the straps to the back but other than that it's DONE!!!!! YAY! Only took about 24 hours of work, lol.
Another 6 hours on Lady Sif tonight. Got the main armor pieces covered in thibra. I'm super mad at myself because the front piece looks like crap but maybe I can make it look ok after I paint it. I hope so because it really looks bad right now. About 56 hours in this costume so far and still a lot to do!
Spent about another 7 hours on Lady Sif tonight. Fixed the pauldrons as best I could with black worbla and made the armor pieces for the boot covers. The boot pieces look really good imo. The pauldrons not so much but they aren't as bad as they were so plus side!
Another 5 hours tonight got the skirt covered in pleather finally. Starting to see the finish line with parts of this but still so much left to do!!!
About an hour spent on Lady Sif's sword tonight.
Step 1 of Naraku build complete. Only 4.99 billion more to go! 😥😂😂
Five hot glue burns later, the first piece of Leliana's leg armor is assembled. It isn't very pretty yet, but it's together. The costume still has a long way to go but I feel a lot more confident I'll have it done by Naka now that I've seen how long this takes.
