At first glance, he’s just a sweet northern boy trying to make it as a bard in an overflowing southern city. But his kind smile and quick wit onstage melt into self doubt and deprecation as soon as he’s off the boards, and very few people in Tazlo know why he refuses to step one foot outside the city limits.

Cal was called brilliant from the moment she was born, and nothing remains more true today. When she’s not busy consuming every class the Academy of Vidanya has to offer, she’s busy railing against the Council, the country’s largely impotent governing body. Yet some wonder why her sharp wit and curious mind haven’t vaulted her into a sparkling career outside of perpetual academic study.

Aspen is a spirit- a forest one, if you must get specific- and currently resides inside Emry’s lute. They’re quite occupied with learning how to understand humans and their habits, though if you could sit down and answer a few hundred questions or so, they’d love to talk to you. Their first question is- why did people stop thinking that spirits exist?
