a neat full-circle thing that the finale does is that belos gets curbstomped by a clawthorne, her lover and her child, when the first lives we see him ruin, chronologically speaking, was evelyn's, caleb's and their child's.

So I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but For the Future has a bunch of Macbeth parallels with the Wittebane bros. The floating dagger? The hallucinations of someone he killed that are slowly driving him inane? I can't remember if there's any more, but it's just something me and my friend noticed.

I saw this and immediately thought about how it fits Caleb and Philip`s story so well. This is what happened at eclipse lake or wherever Philip and Caleb fought. Caleb as Varian (bad-guy turned good-guy trying to help not so good friend/brother who is having a breakdown) and Philip as Cassandra (won`t accept that they are doing bad stuff and have blue and black magic-form).

Scetches with dark au Caleb. He had been died a long time ago and turned into a ghost, and when he was dying he got into his sword. Someday, when Philip rules the army of rebels, Caleb trying to call his little brother, but in battle he didn`t hear him... Only before that, future emperor, could hear  weak voice of his older sibling. Sad but Philip didn`t recognized him in first time, because ghost was really week and didn`t really remember who he was.  By the time Caleb remembered about who he is and take more human look. He cares about his little brother... At least trying to do it.  And YES IN THIS AU PHILIP IS NOT BROTHER-KILLER (he has different sins, but he really loyal to his family)

At the beginning, Philip had been disagree with Caleb`s relationship with witch... But now, Caleb just REALLY tired of conflicts in Philip`s raletionship with Terra. Especially because they can hurt others when they quarrel (again). .... And both of them continue hate each over even in divorce, and hurt others because of it.

Yep. Now that I got into The Owl House Fandom...I've seen shall we say...questionable "fan" content of The Wittebane Brothers and I just....can't.

But honestly. I can understand how Philip can get hurt from Caleb leaving the Human Realm with Evelyn. Philip possibly looked up to him and aspired to be just like his brother as a child.

But Caleb had to sacrifice literally A LOT for him. Caleb was possibly only a few years older than him (like maybe 5 or 4 years at best.) and he had to grow up at a very young age to provide for him when he probably wasn't able to do the same for himself.

Which also means that Caleb also pushed aside his love life to devote himself to his little brother. Maybe when they had met Evelyn, she had "dazzled" him by not only showing him magic, but he actually fell head over heels for her to the point he gave up being a witch hunter to be with her.

In Philip's eyes, Evelyn's the evil, sorceress who parents tell their children about at night. And that he was going to "save" his brother from potential death.

But, when he actually saw that Caleb and Evelyn were actually happy together, chances were that he was in a really bad state of denial, and felt as if Caleb had purposely left without telling him, or worse...abandoned him.

It was probably that mindset that drove Philip into a rage that eventually cost his brother's and Evelyn's lives. (I think he might have killed her as well, but I'm not sure.) Because at that moment, he didn't see his brother. All he saw was nothing more than a backstabbing traitor, to not only their own people, but to him as a person.

Philip loved his brother, yes. But it was not "that" kind of love, like some..."fan" content has shown. Little siblings can become too attached and possessive of their older brothers/sisters because if they were to get into relationships, or have friend groups that help balance the responsibility of taking care of their siblings, then the younger sibling would feel as if they are being abandoned or left out as it were.

And when you throw in the fact that it was highly implied that Philip didn't have any friends besides Caleb as a child...it isn't surprising that you're going to get one hell of a mess that would spiral out of control sooner or later.

And with the grimwalkers of his brother...it was highly possible that Philip was trying to re-live his and his brother's lives through that clone, but with each time having failed, it just caused him to fall deeper, and deeper into madness, in a way that he can never, ever be redeemed.

However, there could also be a chance that there is a part of him that really is devastated over all the pain and suffering he put millions of innocent people through. But until that happens...he still needs to be held accountable for his crimes.

What coven track would Hunter be in?

Whenever I see fanart for Hunter going to Hexide he's always in the yellow robes: potions. And I know that's because that's what he wore in Any Sport in A Storm when he was in disguise, but do we actually think we would be in the potions track?

Because I think he just threw on the yellow because that was the closest to his Golden Guard uniform, heck, he probably doesn't even know the different tracks and their corresponding colours.

So would Hunter be in the potions track? Because I don't think he would be, but idk what he would be in otherwise.

My guess atm would be multitrack, like Luz, since he's into wild magic. But I'm not sure. What to other ppl think?

Unless proven otherwise, Caleb initially did win that knife fight against Philip, but couldn’t bring himself to finish him, despite everything this is still his little brother. Philip then proceeded to knife his brother to death the second his back was turned, even though Caleb just showed him mercy.
