But They Make It Work - Tumblr Posts

Part 2 cause this dymanic works BOTH WAYS EYOOO😩👌👌👌- *gets shot*
Being Poor/Living In A Trailer Does Not:
make you less hygienic or dirty.
mean you have no autonomy over your choices you make be them positive or negative.
mean you are uneducated or unintelligent or have no skills.
automatically mean you are a drug dealer, a criminal, a bigot or a creep.
mean you are ignorant to your situation. Poor people are living their situation, they understand it better than anyone. (This does not take into account of politicians leading people to believe they are being put in their situation by 'the other people'. This denotes racism and bigotry as a whole being a 'poor people issue' and that is just wholly untrue. You can be a rich, middle class or poor bigot.)
Selling Drugs Does Not:
make you a bad person. (Yes, there is a morality discussion of selling drugs at all, but a small time dealer in a small town isn't on the same level as drug profiteering politicians or cartels, lets be fucking real about that.)
make you someone who 'needs to be saved from your situation' (There are many people who sell drugs for extra cash, or because they like to do it. They do not need to be told to stop or that it's something that isn't seen as socially acceptable. They know.)
make you a undeserving of help.
make you somehow more 'mature' or 'grown up' than other people.
make you uneducated or unintelligent.
Being Rich Does Not:
mean you are incapable of doing bad things. (As we know, more often than not. Rich people are capable of horrendous things.)
mean you are incapable of being dirty. (There are plenty of horror stories you can watch about house cleaners cleaning rich peoples homes and finding some of the nastiest things. Financial situations do not dictate hygiene or cleanliness.)
mean you are incapable of being a bigot. (Bigots run our world. We are literally in the place we are because bigots control our laws and safety.)
mean you are incapable of being uneducated or unintelligent.
mean you are better than other people.
There's so many people who have never lived in Eddie's situation or even Billy's situation. I see so often people spouting things that just make me (a poor person who have lived in these situations) sick.
Please take the time to actually talk to impoverished people about poverty and don't just assume.
If your first thought for Eddie is 'Steve/Chrissy/Etc need to save him', please take the time to talk to someone who's lived in poverty. It's very infantilizing.
