Forgive me for squabbling like a dork over this but Tarzan AUs need to step up their game a little, like yes you can do your silly little ships as Tarzan and Jane that’s all cool and neat I respect that a lot! But here’s a fun suggestion: In the original book the person who taught Tarzan how to speak english and other things related to it was a French naval officer named D’arnot who was left behind by his party and got rescued by Tarzan and thus he decided to teach him English and was the guy to help him around with being more human. Like I wanna see that, I wanna see a character be in that role, I feel like that would be really interesting even though I am aware that the original book has aged very badly in our modern day and that we should be aware of well that but still it would be interesting to explore the concept of a character taking the role of D’arnot in your Tarzan AUs methinks.
