Tayyy~ can i ask for more of a reader that draws? Perhaps the reader was painting something and it got messy, paint all over their face and hair, but they’re wayy to focused and kyojuro just sat there looking at them and just :) Maybe bonus scene where he helped them clean up after they’re done, took a damp rug and wipe their cheek from paint and.. “well, you should be more careful, an adorable face like yours should be kept neat and tidy -“ *cue blush as he realises what he said 🫣

tbh, his swooning starts even before you start painting
he'd be behind you while you're sitting in your chair/stool with a canvas in front of you, lining out paints and brushes and cleaner with rags and sponges, etc.- anything you may want to use
and he's behind you bc he has put himself in charge of your hair while your setting up
whether he's pulling all your hair back into a ponytail/bun to keep it out of your face, or placing a headband over your head to keep your bangs out of your face if it's not long enough to pull back, or if you dont have much hair/shaved head, he'd be wrapping a bandana over your head to keep what sweat may accumulate in your concentration away from your face and eyes
plus, it gives him an excuse to be close to your and touch you while also being helpful so that makes him very :DD
kyojuro is a chatterbox, more than happy to share his thoughts and feelings and while you set up he tries to speak as frequently as he can to you bc he knows that once you start painting the less you'll speak since you get so focused
"what are you planning to paint, my dear?"
if you had no plan, he'd start throwing out ideas and if you had an idea of what to do he'd rub at the nape of your neck, or your shoulders if you dont like your neck messed with, to try and relax you before you start
he always asks!! if he can stay and watch!!!
he would hate to be seen as a distraction to your painting process, but when he asks he always hopes you allow him to stick around
sometimes he would try and be a lil sneaky with asking- like if you were setting up on the engawa so you could sit in the nice weather, kyojuro would run to get supplies to clean his sword
"would you mind if i sit here and take care of my blade? the weather is too wonderful to pass up!" you just inwardly roll your eyes in a very endearing manner bc he could've just asked if he wanted to watch you
its not like you'd say no
he was very much not sharpening or even cleaning his sword's blade- just constant hearteyes <3
anyways, during the process of painting!
you would usually go silent or only mutter under your breath bc you're concentrating very hard to achieve the outcomes you want
Kyojuro actually finds it very humorous if you start cursing under your breath bc something may not be turning out the way you want and it's the 'fifth damning time' you've redone that specific part
he'd watch as your hand comes to brush at your cheek to your nose due to an itch or maybe a piece of hair that had broken from your scalp or even just dust- or if your outside some annoying bug- and smear small dots of paint over your skin
he finds it very endearing that not only are you painting on your canvas, but on yourself. and you hardly seem to notice!
if he notices your water or paints going low, or getting too discolored with all the mixing paints he's quick to jump up and change it all out for fresh stuff
he does it without you having to ask, and he knows that you wouldn't mind doing it yourself, but he doesn't want you to break your concentration for something he could do!
and you wouldn't really notice until you start coming out of your 'zone' and see that your station isn't as messy as it should've been with all the water and whatnot
"how many times did you change out my water?"
"just a few!" it was definitely like 4 or 5 times, even more if you're painting for a very long time!
there are times when kyojuro does have to leave or has a few errands to run while you're in the midst of painting, but he always makes sure to gain your attention before leaving
he hates to break your concentration, but he doesn't wanna just disappear while you're focused
he'll always try not to spook you though so, he'll come up to your side and gently push his fingertips on your back before setting his palm fully against you and sliding it up and down your spine to get your attention
"I have a few errands to run, but I will be back shortly," he always speaks to you quieter in these times, knowing you're still semi-focused and his louder voice may jerk you out of your space
will always kiss the top of your head instead of your cheek, nose, lips, etc. so he wont cover your face or impede your vision/block your view of your work
he's also good at reminding you to take small breaks!
drink your water, stretch, get up and pace around a little bit, have a lil snacky-snack. he's making sure you're taking care of yourself during your work
aside from his small acts of aid, he really does just enjoy staring watching you work
the way your lips curl inwards or purse, how your nose scrunches when something doesn't look right or the colors dont come out the way you want so you have to mess around with it, the way your brow creases or even how they jumps when something works out way better than expected
when you finish, or finish the work for the day, you'd always call him over to look at what you've done
"kyojuro, come see!" and with that smile on your face, how could he say no?
he's always impressed with your work, not only because he himself isn't artistically inclined, but bc you truly do impress him with your talents
"it looks wonderful, my dear!" and he always asks how you did it, or where you started, or if it was inspired by something. he wanted to know about it all if it made you that happy
even on the days where you dont like anything you create, he reminds you that you make art bc of how you feel when everything works out right- the fulfillment and satisfaction you feel is always so worth it
even on the bad days
"do you want help cleaning up?" he would always ask before touching any of your stuff while you started cleaning up your little station, wherever you may have set it up at
"if you want to help, you may. you don't have to though, since it's my mess."
"nonsense! i'm more than happy to help!" and help he does. you're cleaning the table that had your paints on it free of any paint that landed on it with a wet rag and kyojuro is moving your easel so that no one runs into it or knocks it over
when all the paint is lifted off the table, kyojuro asks for your rag
"may i take that rag from you for a moment, darling?"
you just assume he sees more things you flung paint on so he wanted to clean it up, but instead when you hand over the rag he comes closer to your body
he gently grabs under your chin and lifts your head, holding it up so he can get a good look at your face while he starts cleaning off the spots and swipes of paint you had on your cheeks and nose
you even had some on your brows and temple close to your hairline
"my dear, you're not supposed to paint on yourself," he would tease "you should be more careful, an adorable face like yours should be kept neat and tidy."
maybe it was the unfiltered words
or maybe it was the fact that your face, that he held up to his, was suddenly painted in flustered emotions instead of paint that made him suddenly halt in his actions
he would clear his throat and quickly try finish up, not wanting to leave the cleaning half-finished (although he's a little more clumsy now)
but even he couldn't deny that the red creeping up his neck and along his cheeks wasn't paint- he was glad when you didn't ask him about it
kyojuro was someone who spoke from the heart, but sometimes his heart was too eager to speak and made his mouth say something ridiculous embarrassing/cheesy without consulting his brain first
(also uzui 10/10 gives him pick-up lines to use so sometimes they just sorta... slip out)
